Well I don't know how long they will stay there, but I tried a few races with it, and it's working perfectly so far. Much smoother! Thanks man! You're a genius!
Does it add more force and how long till I will need to replace the rubber bands? I’m trying to get into all this while on a budget and I want a good feeling shifter lol so does this make it feel realistic?
Just bought one the other day, the just now seeing your post I'm hoping you'll answer, is, have you been using them since, and have any broke? Wanting to do the same but not if I have to daily or monthly. Thanks
thanks for the idea, i replace the rubber band with O rings, just two will do, hook at the bottom left and right screw, and it works like magic !! The stick feel much solid now!
@@samperry3386 I didn't buy the leobodnar adapter to use it as standalone device for PC (I didn't buy G29). I was hoping to use it along with my DFGT (bought it used on mint condition). But the adapter was like 25€ + 40€ shipping. Fun fact, actually sold the shifter 1 week ago. Was sitting on the box.
The rubber bands might of been dry I have rubber bands in my shifter still and it works still work like I just put them in. Your rubber bands might been dry and the broke.
Or, just get small rubber pads and stick them at the bottom of gear locking mechanism spring, and voila, twice the force of the gear throw with not much work involved 👍 (considering the shifter is out of warranty)
This is great thxs but with the rubber bands what I recommend get stronger ones maby thicker ones and if your worried about it coming off tbh TAPE THAT HOE lol
I've tried this and the elastic bands last for about 5mins not strong enough ive even bout a 3d rap and all broke up plastic or elastic is no good for this mod job
They don't last 5mins I've gone through loads of them best solution I've come up with are the small women's head bands I've taken the cover of and put taller screws in and put the bands around the screws
When the shifter is in the middle, the forces from the rubber bands are equal and cancel each other out. (as long as the rubber bands are the same lenght and strenght) But as soon as you move the shifter in any direction, the forces will not be equal anymore. The more you move the shifter, the more difference there will be in the forces of the rubber bands which causes a progressive increase in resistance on the shifter lever.
RobinTheHedgehog I’m not sure I haven’t tried it but the only thing different between the shifters is that the g27 has the extra buttons above the shifter.

I love it, tip from me:
Put therubber band as low as you can because the it will stay for long long time there
DO NOT DO THIS I DID IT AND THE BANDS BROKE AND GOT STUCK IN MY SHIFTER NO HATE BUT PLEASE BE CAREFUL
Did you get it out?

@@nm_car_culture8052 so do you need to wet the rubber bands or?
Use o-rings, not rubberbands... they're MUCH more durable and responsive.
But they don’t stretch?
@@samperry3386 depends, i've used mountain bike caliper o-rings and they are stretchy
What size ?
@@goomba2956did you ever found out?
logitech should address this issue. We need version 2/revision.
I was legit thinking of doing exactly this and then I find this video 😂
make sure to always use protection when using your shifter 0:30
А ещё лучше проклеить сантехнический скотч (серый) там где ходит по отверстиям шарик. Но это надо будет разбирать коробку, но зато будет тише. Удачи.
Yes. Change the elastics every couple of months.

I’m pretty sure all shifter mods void the warranty
@@twizl4 true, I guess you can get away with what you can mod on top of the shifter, without hindering it's appearance (bands etc.)
I’m getting a shifter for Christmas might try this
mee too 😂😂
I also got a shift knob and it is sick!!
Amazing

Can you do this with hairbands???
I did the same but only on left and right side with more of them and I didnt Watch this video before :dd

can i do this on a g25 shifter
I don't know much about physics, but don't these rubber bands cancel each other out on every axis?

Is it possible on the g27's shifter?
RobinTheHedgehog yes, it’s the same mechanism

RobinTheHedgehog I’m not sure I haven’t tried it but the only thing different between the shifters is that the g27 has the extra buttons above the shifter.
RobinTheHedgehog this means that the inside workings of the shifter are basically the same and should be ‘compatible’ with this mod
