I'm dying because of that. John Green did say at one point, "My publishers think that my books sell so well because of my Twitter." I laughed for like 5 minutes straight.

Nerdfighters aren't just fans of John Green the author... They're fans of vlogbrothers and John and Hank, etc....
Maybe John will get his own Stan Lee thing going on, except instead of always making a cameo in the movies, he always gets a cameo seen cut from the movies. They need to not try and make it a multi-line scene like the one in TFIOS and give him a single line or non-speaking part.
They supposedly cut him out of TFiOS bc they thought he would be too distracting and I have to admit that I squealed when I saw him in the extended cut version

Right? I mean, technically they weren't wrong. But they weren't exactly /right/ either. Some of John's followers are nerdfighters. Some of them aren't. It's... not as simple as the media thinks.

What's the difference? Similar characters are exploring different questions. One book asks if a long life is as important as a well lived life, and the other has you imagining other individuals as complexly as yourself.
You've misdefined Nerdfighters today show, good for you.
We are people who, instead of being made out of bones, and tissues and cells and stuff are made entirely of awesome, and watch John and Hank Green on the channel Vlogbrothers on UA-cam. They also do crash course, sci show, and much more.

Lmao he looks like the proud father of a kid who just won a participation ribbon in some sport they love but are absolutely terrible at. I'm not saying his books are terrible(I love & have read all of them) but that's what he looks like
I think that when people try to explain why he writes about teens so well they oversimplify it by saying that he's a "teenager inside." They're implying that you have to (at least somewhat) be a teenager in order to fully understand them, which is so untrue, and John is proof of that. He always stresses imagining the world and other people complexly, and overcoming the natural human tendency to group things up into neat, simple little categories. Of course he couldn't say "I imagine people (including teenagers) complexly" because even though that's the truth, it would sound a little like pompous bragging, which should probably be avoided on national television.
