I love how quietly frustrated John gets in this

I don't like how this host tried to interpret John's book to John instead of having John explain it so that the host could better understand it.

they've also been friends for like, a LONG time, like enough that john knows his wife personally. so there was probably a lot of understanding that went into that kind of thing. like, that's the kind of thing that it WOULD be incredibly rude, had they not known each other previously, which they had. he's been on the show like 4 other times, and also, again, they personally know each other's spouses. i feel like you don't get to be that close to someone if you aren't on the same page about certain things.
tl;dr i think the host understands perfectly, so he is afforded the permission to do those kinds of things, especially to make for a better show. after all, the format is part comedy, and part interview. it's called, very generically "The Interview Show", which sounds entirely parodist.

Good interview. A good normal thoughtful adult conversation. Sure it took a moment to shake out some awkwardness but I liked the way the interviewer relates his own struggle with OCD to the book and John.

I got irritated by this within 2 minutes of watching this interview. I mean, if he actually read the book.. he would never describe it as "funny" because surely a mental illness can't be funny. Bad Host. When you're interviewing someone, you let John speak and not go on blabbering about the things that you really dont understand.
