Really enjoyed your video but when I clicked on the Amazon link to see what thermostat you used, it went to a main board assembly, not thermostat.

Hey Hugo! We sure do, but mostly for when wires will be exposed to the elements. We use shrink style butt connectors. I would also use them if I have a situation where space is of concern where a Wago would be too boxy. Great question.

Thank you for answering my question. When you heat shrink your butt connectors do you use a electric heat gun or do you use like butane lighter style ?

Whenever possible, I use a heat gun but sometimes the situation calls for a small butane torch, if I don’t have an outlet nearby.

Thanks for the video. Mine just died during beach camping.And it's the exact same thing as your replacement. 12 Volt is coming in to the digital thermostat panel but no display. Hopefully it is the digital thermostat and nothing major.
