You can do it yourself Martin, I was years on it too & I just began cutting down by myself at hime and then when id feel happy on the lower dose Id tell the clinic to reduce it officially. I brought meself off 100 ml down to 30 in 8months . But I was genuinely not using or mixing with users at all for a few years by that time.
Its very hzrd with no structure or daily discipline like a job to go to or education. I went back to college and sorted out the gaps I had left in my education.....its not easy lads but we can do ut, we are master survivors holding down a habit for 30yrs gives us coping skills others dont understand. Experts in our fields its us who the govt of Ireland needs to consult & listen to .

How’s Martin these days, been on methadone 20 odd years myself,, getting weekly take homes and starting to detox myself,,was on 150 mil in England got down to 100 mil back in Dublin and now I’m down to 55 mil and looking forward to getting away fro the ball n chain as Martin calls it,

I mean i was on pearse st for yrs completly agree that the mental health support is rificulous i used to go to dr. Keenan asking for help and be told their was nothin wrong wit me othr then drugs. I will say once i was clean i got support to get onto a gp which is best thing i done. I mean the doses their given out is ridiculous aswel nobody needs to be on 100+ mls. Im glad im out of the clinic was their from under 18s to mid 20s. The holistic approach that they supposdly give up there is not good enough at this age and time.
Both my brothers are on it it since the phy tablets stopped so that'll tell ya how long that is..I hope he gets were he wants to be.

@@KoldTurkey I'm currently helping one of them at moment. He's doing the best he's done in 20 years. Down to 50ml now. So all is going according to plan.

This has to be looked into more. Rights of people attending methadone clinics. In law do clinics have the right to change clients dosages as a punishment, for reason's that are not medical. Example, if a patient attending a doctor was told that because they had a beer last night they would not be receiving their normal dose of medication. This medication could be for cancer, epilepsy, kidney failure etc etc, there would be an outcry if this was happening to regular people. But I does happen, in these methadone clinics. Also dragging people to clinics seven day's a week. What other people with illnesses are treeted like this, its a national disgrace Discrimination on a massive scale, with no recource to appeal or justice. Ireland.
Great comment bro ...your absolutly right...its criminal what they did to a whole generation and now its gone into another generation with no plan to change the way they do things...so it really time for a change and unfortunatly too late for many of my generation
Well i will tell u something and i think anybody on methadone thats been on herion since they were kids,i traveled round europe and lived in many countrys and have 2 kids ,i was a speed addict and i gave a dirty urine going into cloverhill and they put me on methadone and ive been stuck on it now 10 yr,i wad only on remand and i was let out without finishing the program,and i was never hooked on herion,but fuck im on 110ml and i cant understand why some chemists put us out of the chemist ,as they should say 2 junkies cant sit and talk together ,its a degrace the way some chemists are,i never was on herion i took it but speed was my devil,anyway i think the methadone is a great program and this video is only about moaning about methadone,and its great if u can take 30ml and sell the rest.of the script,just cause the doctor say go up,doesnt mean we need go up,anyway i think im stuck on it for life,its keeping me of the other shit,but i do understand must peoples veiw,but all peole do is moan

Thats very true but martins story is about how the services dont do enough to support a client wanting to detox
Very few Drug dealers, sorry I meant to say Doctors who work in the area of helping drug addicted people do not won’t to see you get well! It’s a billion euro 💶 money maker and would simply put them out of business 🥸. I hope this man finds the courage to get a detox and turn to the fellowships in Ireland 🇮🇪 so he can be free & recreate his life 🙏..
