SO happy to hear that - it changed my whole idea of a cell phone plan when I found out, and Airalo has been absolutely amazing so far. No more juggling 13 SIM cards on a trip to Europe! :)
This video is really good ! 👍👍 I watched this more than a couple of times ! Many good info & that cat sanctuary !!! It can't get better than that !!! Lol. 🐈🐈⬛😃💜💜💜💜🥁🐉🎵🎤🎶💕💞
You guys are giving me that travel bug!! On my way back to Hawaii in September. But man I'm looking to sneak to Rome prayerfully next month. You guys stay hydrated and safe. You two are definitely in my prayers. 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Usual mistake of all tourists with Santa Maria Maggiore: that is the back of the Basilica, the entrance is from the opposite side (and it is even more impressive)
Villa D'Este in Tivoli .. catch the bus from stazione centrale to Tivoli ... ask someone, they'll know .. just check opening hours .. Hadrians Villa is also in Tivoli .. great day out in the hills outside of Rome ..
So busy the Colosseum area? Trust me, you were lucky (ok, is hot but you're going to Rome in July/August ... so 🔥) because the city is empty (by tourist and romans). I hope you have a nice time in Italy (and hope you understand my "Google-eng"). PS Little tip, the best months to visit Rome are March/April and September/October, ciao.
Ha yeah - we were lucky that we even actually got in that day. We had such a good time, and we should definitely come back in the later months, too hot for us :)
Can you elaborate a little about GoogleFi? I was about to get it for a 6 month long trip but now…I’m rethinking since I have an iPhone. Can you make calls at all? What about making calls NOT on WiFi? Thanks so much for your help! Love the videos too :)
sure :) I love talking about this stuff! So, this is all for Google Fi on iPhone, on the Flexible Plan - 1. You can make calls, but they're over cellular. Calling over Wi-Fi just straight up does NOT work with Google Fi on iPhone no matter what you do, right now. I asked their support when it would be implemented (it used to work a few years ago), they couldn't tell me. 2. Since you're making calls over cellular, a call from, say, Italy to the US would cost $0.20 cents per minute. Their calling rates vary, but every call would be at the X cents per minute rate. I can't really recommend this service any more for people who travel for long periods and have iPhones. Hope that helps! Ask away for any other questions you might have
@@LisaAndJosh thank you! That was very clear and helpful. One more question, will your family be able to call you, through your US cell phone number for free as if you’re still in the US while on GoogleFi?
Yep! :) you can definitely receive calls, but it’s still 20 cents per minute, even with inbound. Here’s a bit more detail for ya - support.google.com/fi/answer/6157794?hl=en#zippy=%2Crates-for-international-calls
Really enjoying your vlogs, especially seeing Rome again after my own visit a couple of years ago. I was also planning on doing a trip like guys touring the US but unfortunately had to cancel due to covid so It'll be for next year. By that time you guys will probably be at 100k subs if not more 😄
thank you so much :) lol, i hope you're right on that. i have no idea what 100k subs would feel like, but i imagine it would be both super exciting, and incredibly scary. hard to imagine that right now!
The E-sim info is so helpful! THANK YOU. Planning a multi-month trip to Europe and that is going to help me A LOT. Thanks!

Haha, thank you! We agree, as soon as we saw it, we knew we had to stop :)
Love this video lots of good shots of Rome, especially the Colloso! I need to study history of Rome and such before I head there this September lol.
Thanks so much! yes! Every step is full of rich history!

We learned that the next day! 😂
Love these videos! So glad I started following your channel!
thank you so much - we're super glad too! :)
Enjoyed the video!
Thank you!
Great vlog! I love the tips! I’ve never heard of the cat sanctuary!
thank you! :) so glad it was helpful. we hadn't heard of it either until we saw it on someone else's vlog
Wonderful information! I'm going to Rome next week ☺️☺️ how was your service in Italy with airalo?
Thank you! It was great! We had 4G everywhere (on our iPhones, likely the same with Android) and was super fast.
@@LisaAndJosh thanks for the reply! I was going to get it but it said it's not compatible with my phone 😢
Great video! Rome looks even less crowded than what I thought it would be !
Definitely!!
Because of the covid...2 years ago was much crowded
@@alexismazz2070 Thanks, Alexis. What I meant was that even compared to my expectation of Rome in Covid times, it seemed less crowded.

Wow! Just looked up pictures of villa d’este and wow! We are so sad to have missed this, but hope to be back to see it in person someday
@@LisaAndJosh I used to live nearby many years ago.
Hi Lisa for the Colliseum ticket is it strict on the time that you pick on the website? Or you can enter anytime for the day you picked? Thanks
Love doing self guided tours! At the coliseum would be amazing!
Yes! It's a much more relaxing experience for me---get to go at your own pace and no fear of losing anyone!! :D
Lisa and Josh If you make it to Venice, drive to Lake Garda it will so worth it. Amazing and see the sinking castle
we just left Venice, bummed we didn’t make it to lake Garda!
