Hi! I practiced JIKC karate in my youth. The dojo was in Roebuck, Alabama. Thank you so much for these videos. Watching and practicing at my home in Utah.
I learned Shorin-Ryu Shorinkan in the Philippines in the 1980s earning my first dan in 1988. My instructor taught the Kihon katas 1-4 as the first katas in Shorin-Ryu. I come back to the USA and the Shorin-Ryu Shorinkan instructor says no, they teach Fukyugata kata 1 thru 3. Who is right? This has always bugged me all these years. I still don't practice the Fukyugata kata, LOL.
Each style may have their own version of basic katas. The take away can be some of the basics and explanations of how movements are completed. But I hope you can learn something from our other videos!
I'm discovering the channel now.
And enjoying it a lot!
I didn't know there were Kihon kata no Ryuei-ryu!
Greetings from Brazil!🙏🏿👊🏿🥋💚💛
