Beautiful.....I have watched your videos for years as well as a few other of my favourite teachers. This is the first time I have ever made a comment. Your playing and teaching is so much appreciated. I should have told you years ago. I needed to tell you now. I hope you keep making videos. Cheers.

I’m a much better guitar player because of you, I found that I’m a better acoustic player than an electric player. Disappointed they took off your version of Take It Easy by the Eagles but I learned it before they did. Keep posting your videos I learn so much and thank you!

Very nice. I play it slightly differently, but it was because I was learning to do the guitar and trying to hybrid pick some of the mandolin lines as it went. I leanred it from the record wayback, but can hear in what your doing that the guitar part itself that I am doing is not quite right. It was just sort of a hybrid between the guitar and mandolin. Very helpful to correct some things. Thank you very much.

I swear I've been trying to figure out this song at least a decade and within a few seconds of your vid I was like "Doh! Of course Page uses the same picking pattern as usual (like some of Bron Yr Aur)." This whole time I thought it was a unique pattern because all the tabs are just wrong all over the place. Thanks for the clarity!

The descending melodic notes over the G major chord are G, F#, E, D, just as in the vocal line. You're playing G, F#, D, D. The E is played by the third finger on the 5th fret of the 2nd string.

    • @jamesjames9275
      @jamesjames9275  4 роки тому +15

The vocal does that and the mandolin does that, the guitar doesn’t. But play it however you wish.

    Going to california led zeppelin
Spend my days with a woman unkind
Smoked my stuff and drank all my wine
Made up my mind, make a new start
Goin' to California with an achin' in my heart
Someone told me there's a girl out there
With love in her eyes and flowers in her hair
Took my chances on a big jet-plane
Never let 'em tell ya that they're aw-ooh-all the same
Hoh, the sea was red and the sky was grey
I wonder how tomorrow could ever follow today-hee
Mountains and the canyons start to tremble and shake
The children of the sun begin to awake
    Now
    Watch out
It seems that the wrath of the gods got a punch on the nose
And it's startin' to flow, I think I might be sinkin'
Throw me a line, if I reach it in time
Meet you up there where the path runs straight and high
Find a queen without a king
They say she plays guitar and cries and sings, la-la-la-la
Ride a white mare in the footsteps of dawn
Tryin' to find a woman who's never, never, never been born
Standin' on a hill in the mountain of dreams
Tellin' myself it's not as hard, hard, hard as it seems
    great work!!
