Beautiful.....I have watched your videos for years as well as a few other of my favourite teachers. This is the first time I have ever made a comment. Your playing and teaching is so much appreciated. I should have told you years ago. I needed to tell you now. I hope you keep making videos. Cheers.
Dude,I'm so glad you do and did all these videos, their great, your playing and teaching is incredible and you give hope to those of us who all but gave up leaning these classic rock songs until we discovered your page. Thank you very much for all the work you put into these videos F
I recently discovered you. Your selection of songs is the best. You have an incredible ear. Your playing is world class. You are simply one of the best. Thank you J.J.
I’m a much better guitar player because of you, I found that I’m a better acoustic player than an electric player. Disappointed they took off your version of Take It Easy by the Eagles but I learned it before they did. Keep posting your videos I learn so much and thank you!
Nice! Man, I love that D-41. It sounds great and beauty for days! Your playing is also ourstanding; great fingerpicking pattern. Thanks for posting!👍👍👍
Thanks JJ . Great concept.. " clean versions " playing to the original. Love it..works well for the singers and for learning the guitar part, without hearing the other instruments. cool.
Really good version an good playing for that matter. Thanks James for posting! Rock on brother. Led Zep the BEST Rock n Roll band of all time, in my opinion.
I adore your lessons JJ and your other channel. You’ve helped me so much in my own playing that I feel very indebted to u! Love to see you live! A guy like you would be a pro playing live. I used to but got burned out! Now I just watch your channels and relearn all the stuff I’ve forgotten in an easier to understand way by watching your videos! So much easier. The way u break it down is just great! Thank you brother! ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻🎸💥🇺🇸
Wonderful. Thanks for uploading all of this content to UA-cam James (if that's your name). Helping me a lot and keeps bringing me back to the guitar every now and then. I still listen to 99 red balloons on a regular basis, although I keep forgetting the name and have to search for it again :D
I so many times watched this with the intention of learning it... Then you start and the finger picking is out of my skill set (or lack there of) beautiful job..
Man bro, this is amazing. It is amazing that you achieve all those beautiful sounds, by simply paying those shapes. This is one of the most beautiful Zeppelin song, in my opinion. Always felt that way.
Dude! I have been watching your videos for quite a while now, and I must say, Not only are you a very accomplished guitar player, but I also love the collection of beautiful guitars that you have collected over the years. Peace be with you and rock on. ✌️
Very nice. I play it slightly differently, but it was because I was learning to do the guitar and trying to hybrid pick some of the mandolin lines as it went. I leanred it from the record wayback, but can hear in what your doing that the guitar part itself that I am doing is not quite right. It was just sort of a hybrid between the guitar and mandolin. Very helpful to correct some things. Thank you very much.
I resurrected my old Epicphone 12 string from the case it had been residing in for over 15 years and started playing this song along with the original recording-brings great memories! There is a YT video somewhere that somebody posted of me playing mandolin with some guys in a bar playing this song-not the best version of it but had fun playing!
I swear I've been trying to figure out this song at least a decade and within a few seconds of your vid I was like "Doh! Of course Page uses the same picking pattern as usual (like some of Bron Yr Aur)." This whole time I thought it was a unique pattern because all the tabs are just wrong all over the place. Thanks for the clarity!
I think my brain decided within 0.00002 of a sec to press play as soon as i saw this on my subscription list. I listen every time you post a song, but as soon as i saw the acoustic out, and the 0.00002 seconds it took to see "Going to..". i had pressed play and sat back.. :))
The descending melodic notes over the G major chord are G, F#, E, D, just as in the vocal line. You're playing G, F#, D, D. The E is played by the third finger on the 5th fret of the 2nd string.
Going to california led zeppelin Spend my days with a woman unkind Smoked my stuff and drank all my wine Made up my mind, make a new start Goin' to California with an achin' in my heart Someone told me there's a girl out there With love in her eyes and flowers in her hair Took my chances on a big jet-plane Never let 'em tell ya that they're aw-ooh-all the same Hoh, the sea was red and the sky was grey I wonder how tomorrow could ever follow today-hee Mountains and the canyons start to tremble and shake The children of the sun begin to awake Now Watch out It seems that the wrath of the gods got a punch on the nose And it's startin' to flow, I think I might be sinkin' Throw me a line, if I reach it in time Meet you up there where the path runs straight and high Find a queen without a king They say she plays guitar and cries and sings, la-la-la-la Ride a white mare in the footsteps of dawn Tryin' to find a woman who's never, never, never been born Standin' on a hill in the mountain of dreams Tellin' myself it's not as hard, hard, hard as it seems great work!!
So glad I found your channel, listen to your PT channel and wondered what happened to you, nice playing dude, you really captured the essence of the song
Hey man! Recently discovered your PT channel and am a big fan.. Watched your last video on that channel and i love what youre doin with this new channel so keep it up!
Sorry, dude. That's Ringo. Do a UA-cam search for "ringo starr's blisters" and you can hear him talk about it. Even without that, you can clearly tell it's Ringo's voice.
@@jamesjames9275 well , if James James himself took the time to reply this massage , I got to believe it was Ringo, but I always thought it was John , by the way thanks for all the guitar covers you are doing , I followed your you tube chanel since the old days when you had the other chanel. keep rocking the you tube world with your videos!!
It would be a great idea for a guitarist to play a vid, then singer make a matching vid...then drummer...then bass whatever and someone master the vid....we could get so many versions of the song. God i love this song...Page was just pure magic.
Standing on a hill in my mountain of dreams,
Telling myself it's not as hard, hard, hard as it seems
(It's hard)
Starts around 1:47
Nice work.
Thanks
I keep going back to this, it's brilliant. Covid 19 survivor

So very very beautyful

Good luck Indeed! Thank you Sir!
Greatest rock band of all time 🎸
Three channels to be able to play almost anything, James James, Private Tricker and Shut up N Play
Love the teaching style - no nonsense & natural - always find you helpful - best wishes
Really good version an good playing for that matter. Thanks James for posting! Rock on brother. Led Zep the BEST Rock n Roll band of all time, in my opinion.
This sounded awesome with just the acoustic!

Isn't this the most laid-back relaxing guitar arrangement ever made? Beautiful.
Gorgeous picking.
I love the purfling on your guitar. Beautiful
Nice - grabbing a Mandolin down from the wall now :-)
+I_Made_This Maybe if youtubers could play all the parts and put them together in one video you'd have a full cover!
I did too
Please post your mandolin part and put the link here. That would be great.
I'm drooling over your guitar
I so many times watched this with the intention of learning it... Then you start and the finger picking is out of my skill set (or lack there of) beautiful job..
That fancy pants Martin sounds like a million bucks... always like the, " Good luck"....most if us are going to need it!
Beautiful. Your guitar has a nice tone too.

Perfectly played...great feel, very impressive, thank you
Love that Martin!
you are amazing. why is your channel so underrrated
I don't really care about that stuff.
Thank you for allowing people to sing along to your amazing music. Such a giving thing to do. Liked and subbed just for that alone.
Beautiful job
Sounds fantastic
Awesome. I play mandolin and was using this to play along with!
Great job on this James. Sounds just like the record and SO MUCH BETTER on the 41! Amazing job on an AMAZING guitar buddy. Well done.

Nailed it! You just made my day. Thanks!

So clean.
I’m so happy I can watch this video and learn the song by watching your hand :D
I've listened the whole story and the song. You're awesome, you've also inspired me to record guitar covers.
Love your videos, your collection of guitars is amazing

That was great!
This is great, thanks for the video. Pages acoustic stuff really hits me in my soul.

The vocal does that and the mandolin does that, the guitar doesn’t. But play it however you wish.
Love it, and the guitar. It looks like my Martin D41 12 string
It's a Martin D41 and $5999.00. Plus taxes...
Brilliant, well done!
superb, thanks for taking the time
Love your playing... and thanks for the other videos,
He nice shirt! I'm going to see the Rolling Stones in June!
note - don't strike the base notes to hard so that it over powers the melody - play those base notes soft/medium
It’s funny you say that. On the live versions, Jimmy slams the bass notes.
That was beautiful
Wow that was awesome!! Beautiful work man above my skill level though
I play this over and over for my 18 month old child every night until he falls asleep. It's perfect.
Well done. Thank you for posting.
I only listen to your led Zeppelin videos lol
You nailed that one mate
Going to california led zeppelin
Spend my days with a woman unkind
Smoked my stuff and drank all my wine
Made up my mind, make a new start
Goin' to California with an achin' in my heart
Someone told me there's a girl out there
With love in her eyes and flowers in her hair
Took my chances on a big jet-plane
Never let 'em tell ya that they're aw-ooh-all the same
Hoh, the sea was red and the sky was grey
I wonder how tomorrow could ever follow today-hee
Mountains and the canyons start to tremble and shake
The children of the sun begin to awake
Now
Watch out
It seems that the wrath of the gods got a punch on the nose
And it's startin' to flow, I think I might be sinkin'
Throw me a line, if I reach it in time
Meet you up there where the path runs straight and high
Find a queen without a king
They say she plays guitar and cries and sings, la-la-la-la
Ride a white mare in the footsteps of dawn
Tryin' to find a woman who's never, never, never been born
Standin' on a hill in the mountain of dreams
Tellin' myself it's not as hard, hard, hard as it seems
great work!!

Really loving this. To steal a line from Ringo..."I GOT BLISTERS ON MY FINGERS!!"
Sorry ,dude that's not Ringo ,it's John at the end of the song Helter skelter ( I got blisters on my fingers)
Sorry, dude. That's Ringo. Do a UA-cam search for "ringo starr's blisters" and you can hear him talk about it. Even without that, you can clearly tell it's Ringo's voice.

Nice guitar.
I would love to sing to your video here to.how can I send it to you🙃?
lovelyy
I think I'm busted.... Thanks James James. You are awesome.
Very good!
Fantastic! Thanks!
That is cool. I can kinda sorta travis pick, so it really doesn't look too hard. There are only a handful of not too difficult chords.
It would be a great idea for a guitarist to play a vid, then singer make a matching vid...then drummer...then bass whatever and someone master the vid....we could get so many versions of the song.

Whatyoudo , brilliant idea !
Bravo!
You guys should link up singing and playing, it's written in the stars 👍✌️
Fabulous...
