Love the reviews. I just bought the PDP 4” full frame after watching your review of it and loving it. Also grabbed the ATK ear pro from your merch site and they work great at the range and at my construction job. I love my standard PDP so much 0:15 that my next pistol will be an SD Pro. I believe the sights the regular PDP has are the same sights but Holosun makes a green dot specifically for the PDP slides without the need for an adapter plate and I can co-witness the stock sights through the green dot without a problem. Keep up the reviews.
I've had the PDP Pro SD Compact in grey for almost a year and just love the hell out of it. My EDC is a PPQ and the PDP Pro SD is such a great addition to my collection.
Underrated comment! I see too many reviews with a x300 and RMR / SRO / DPP on top while they are running the first 1000 rounds. At the end of the day you should be reviewing the gun in its purist set up to get the best review to the people.

Yeah, there's no comparison, really. The PDP blows the Glock out of the water. Even the standard PDP, which is no more expensive than a G19, is leaps and bounds better.

I'm 21 y/o I've been watching Collon the war for a minute and really like his content which has been one of the inspirations to get into the gun world. Coincidentally this video comes out my first gun and concealed purchase is the Walter PDP pro compact as two weeks ago along with my one concealed holster as well as my kore essential belt. Only thing left to do is the train with this weapon and learn to conceal it with the best of my ability.
I’m with you, I bought a PDP for $499 last week, and my bedside gun is the M&P 2.0 compact with a 17 rd mag. They’re my top 2 modern striker fired guns. I carry an P365 (sometimes a Canik mete, or a shield plus.)
@@thebeesknees9954 I wanna get a M&P 2.0 4.25 inch performance center then put an apex trigger in it for about $700and then afterwards a shadow system mr920 instead of a Glock
The ergo's on the PDP Pro SD compact really are top notch. I have large hands and the magwell really hugs my hand and drives it high on the gun. I added a PMM comp paired with a ZRTS 15lb rsa and it's been 100% reliable(2k+ rds). I also mounted a Holosun EPS which does maintain a low witness with the factory sights. I finished it off with a Lok brass back strap and a Valkyrie pl-2 light and its hilariously fun to shoot now. The dot stays in the window, so it's really easy to rapid fire and group well too. The crisp trigger and short reset really help also. I always enjoy shooting the Pro SD and always wish I had more ammo. Lol
For my birthday this morning I woke up to the grey and black 5" PDP. Been shooting the 4" for 3 years, bought it when I walked in, saw it, didn't care if it was good, just liked how it looked. I have loads of great pistols but the Walther is pretty much what I shoot. I love Glock, CZ 75 series, H&K VP9s, and a bunch of my other ones but my take 30 years after I received my first Glock 17 for college graduation is that if you don't give any version of the PDP a tryout you're just being a stubborn ass. There is a reason the review volume of Walther PDPs by proven reviewers like Sir Colion Noir are intensifying, the shooting experience is pretty great, the price is predatorially low, and reliability on my first PDP has been 100% over 3 years and a couple thousand rounds of every type of cheap 9mm ammo I've habitually purchased my entire life.

I'm 37 and about to get my first gun. Always thought it will be a Glock, not only because i am from Austria.. The dealer said i would be fine with a Glock, but.. just try the PDP Pro Compact. Damn, i instantly fell in love. Fits my hand perfectly and the trigger is super nice. Soon it will be mine. I really like your video, keep up the good work!
Love your knowledge, recs and excitement. I've been looking for an addition to my 19X through countless videos and reading, and have decided to try or purchase this firearm. Thanks again
The gun is super light already, lighter than many other similar size pistols. Because of that it's a little snappier. The one thing I'd really recommend is swapping in either a steel, brass, or tungsten recoil spring guide rod. It puts a little extra weight low out front, and helps keep the pistol flatter while firing. It'll add anywhere from 1 to 4 extra ounces, depending on which one you go with. But even at the high end the overall gun weight will still be very light for it's size. I gotta say, as soon the PDP Pro SD Compact dropped in my local store, I snatched one up. I love this thing. It basically comes as the perfect do all pistol, with many expensive upgrades already pre-installed for no where near the amount of money it'd take to turn a regular PDP into one of these. Plus the revised optic cut. I'm making some minor changes just to fit my needs a bit better, adding a tungsten guide rod, an extended oval mag release, and some Trijicon HD XR sights. Maybe a comp down the line, and maybe a slightly lighter recoil spring...like a 15 pounder.
I own a plain Jane black model, but yeah, it just plain fits. Sights may be shorter, but co-witness with some red dots because you don't need to add a base. Mine is from C&H made for the SD Pro compact. So no issues with that. Trigger is top notch for a firearm in this price range. Plus you can add a can and play with that as they include a spring, plus 2 mags in the box. I love the thing, it's accurate and just plain sexy as hell.
I’m wearing the atk 2 sitting in a deer blind! Took a few tries to get the fit right! Wow they are comfortable as hell! Can wear them for hours without falling out or getting uncomfortable

From someone who owns a 2022 pdp and a 2023 pdp pro. Grip is the same nothing extra on the pro other than threaded barrel, trigger, magwell, magazines. Also comped pdp pro is nice but best upgrade hands down was a sprinco rrs woth the red spring shoots everything no malfunctions
New viewer who bought the PDP Pro SD Compact a few weeks back and love it! Added a Comp and the Holosun SCS PDP-GR optic. BTW, the factory sights do co-witness with this specific optic. I love this set-up and it is now my EDC of choice. I’ve put several hundred rounds thru it to date and this thing shoots like a dream. Also, FLP is a great alternative to USCCA. Just sayin’…
I had done training, my friend who’s the instructor has the full size version, I used it and fell in love with it. Ordered the compact version and it arrived on Valentines Day. Happy Valentine’s for me lol Within a week I put 300 rounds through it and love it! However the thread protector keeps coming loose. Fantastic pistol and by far my favorite!
My "Pro SD" PPQ through PDP-F Journey 1. Started with the PPQ Q4 Tac (when it was 1st released). A. Immediately tried changing the sights (don't like rear windage and elevation adjustable sights on a carry pistol - target pistol OK but not carry) & found there's no fixed rear sights for the Q4 Tac (Walther's website incorrectly listed sights compatible that aren't - no dovetail on Q4 Tac) B. Ended up buying another complete slide with extra barrel from Walther USA and sold the Q4 Tac slide (kept the threaded barrel - of course) C. Installed a Dynamic Performance Trigger Shoe w/bar but not the competition springs - as the DPT manual specifies the PDT is not drop safe with the competition trigger springs. D. Added a brass backstrap. Don't like the flared magwell adapters. E. Added a DPM Stainless Guide Rod (with 3 different recoil springs) but switched to the DPM Triple Captured Spring after I could source it. 2. Bought the PDP-F in 3.5" A. Swapped out the barrel with the spare 4" PPQ barrel (from the complete slide I got from Walther) B. Added a brass backstrap. C. Next is Tritium Night Nights. D. Waiting for the DPT-F. If one isn't released I'm going to get another flat faced trigger and swap out the PDT trigger shoe on PDP-F Trigger bar. E. On the fence about a comp. Might try one after I get the triituim night sights in. - My PPQ with 4"slide is my nightstand gun & the PDP-F is my carry gun. All the while I did the above mentioned mods I was in sporadic contact (trying to source parts) with the in-house gun shop at Walther USA & found I wasn't the only person making the "PRO SD" mods before there was the "PRO SD."
Great review! My son is a Pennsylvania State Trooper and this is the weapon they are contracted to receive and I want to upgrade my carry gun to this beauty; thanks for giving the info I need.

the 15 lb stainless steel guide rod from zr tactical makes this shoot so much better. doesn’t feel so “pushy” like it does with the stock spring. and i never had one failure through 1200 rounds with it
Same here. I put in a 15lb zr spring/stainless rod and no (and I mean ZERO failures) and I just put my 3,000th round through it yesterday and I have put everything though it from the cheapest junk to the expensive match grade and 115 and 124 gr ammo.
I never really looked at Walther since the only model I knew was the PPK and it's not really my style. I wanted to get a .380 and my local shop had a Walther PK380 and I asked to see it. It felt so good in my hand that I had to pick it up. It is my favorite gun that I own so far. That one is sexy as hell! Love the hump in the grip. It really feels really good in my hand! Thanks for sharing Colion. Hope all is well! God Bless!
bought 2 PK 380s. 1st one suffered a broken extractor within a few months. 2nd one was rusted inside which we found upon getting it home and field stripping. Returned it. Great ergonomics, terrible quality control. I’ll stick with Canik.
Cz guy through and through. That being said. PDP Pro SD full size is my nightstand gun. I take it to the range every 2 months or so. It shoots so good. The trigger is an afterthought. It smokes almost anything I've shot, just a bit too bulky to edc for me as I am a thinner guy.
Have the PDP Pro SD Full and Compact, love them both and still can use standard sights with Holosun SCS-PDP optic or with Holosun EPS with the ZR Tactical Optic Plate, I know as that is what I have on mine. Add a Herrington Arms Comp and the ZR Tactical 15 lb recoil spring with stainless steel guide rod and you have near perfection.
I am GenX and growing up sights were typically fixed, most of our dads had some kind of revolver that we'd go shoot at the dunes without asking, horrible triggers in retrospect, shooting was socially without stigma, blah blah blah. We sort of used the sights but realistically we'd be having fun and point shoot was pretty much the deal. I like red dots, zillions of iron sight options, etc., but on my Walther PDP with an optic and suppressor height sights I can pretty much just point shoot within a reasonable number of yards and while not competition level at all it hits rather well. I like the no thinking ergonomics of the PDP, makes shooting more fun.
I have the original PDP with the Dynamic Performance Trigger added to it. Phenomenal firearm. The only striker fired gun I have found with a trigger that is even close to it is my Canik Rival.
I have the Walther PDP Pro SD compact in tungsten grey. I’m rocking the ameriglo blacked out suppressor height sights and with Aimpoint Acro on it. It’s sweet shooting pistol. Honestly this should James Bond’s new gun.
I actually bought the pdp 4” compact! Didn’t want the threaded barrel or Magwell cause I carry this gun! I did put a Holosun eps carry green dot on it with a precision optics plate and upgraded the iron sights with the Trijicon standard hight night sights blacked out rear orange front! They cowhitness perfectly! Also did the zr tactical stainless guide rod simply because I don’t like plastic guide rods. I also run a tlr7 light and a las concealment holster! Last I did put the performance dynamic trigger in as well! Going this route I did spend a bit more than buying the pro version but as it is now it’s the perfect carry gun for me!
Don't loose your following for a shady insurance company....im sure attorneys on retainer would put you on payroll...may not be as big of a bag but you ain't selling your soul atleast.stay TRUE to yourself dawg
The PDP Pro SD is excellent, and bows pretty much everything else in its price range away. The best solution to the stock sights is to mount the Holosun SCS on it. This pistol begs for an optic, and the SCS will work fine with standard height sights. After mounting the SCS, I blacked the iron sights out, to eliminate the visual distraction. Herrington Arms Comp and the Taylor Freelance backstrap as a counter-balance and this thing runs so fast...
My Canik P9 Elite Combat is just like that and cheaper. It shoots so smoothly, I'm getting the 45 blast compesator for it next just to make it look like Robo Cop.
The Canik triggers are so close because they are literally clones of those Walthers internally. The lineage going back to P99 then the PPQ (that internally just drops the decocker) then to the PDP.
They're not even reviews at this point. It's more like an infomercial, just paid advertising. I like his reviews, I like his 2A videos, but these "gunfomercials," as I call them, are only good for seeing what new features and products are available. It's kinda sad really, with his reach, he could do so much more with better gun content. These USCCA ads need to go too!
Walther has been underrated since the PPQ came out and S&W who distributed it at the time in the US never advertised or promoted it. I bought my 5" full size 9mm PPQ M2 for $499 a couple years after they were available. The PPQ has a great trigger so I am sure Walther has only improved on their triggers with the PDP
I recommend a comp from Herrington Arms or Parker Mountain Machine. I use the HA for course and range and the PMM for bullseye. I love them both in my pdp setups!!!
For Fellow VETS this gun is $655. At the time i was looking for range gun i went with Echelon which i got for less than $600 because its always out of stock.
Aesthetics lookin more and more like a Springfield XD had a baby with a Glock.. I ain’t mad at it, but the OG PPQ smooth aesthetic will forever be iconic🤩 Still, if they offer one in olive drab with the same parkerized steel parts, I’m absolutely picking one up🤤🤤
Jerry Miculek, the only man capable of suppressive fire with a flintlock, teaches the use of leverage as a technique for recoil control. It's like Walther was listening to him when they made that gun.

He is well aware. This guy gets a check from uscca. The day the check stops he stops, or he is a stand up dude and stops off the moral value. We will see if he is just sleezy or moral. Stop putting faith in people you dont know. He is entertainment. Period.
What are you talking about
do you people forget contracts exist? lmao

Have mine in tungsten gray. My son liked it so much he bought his in black.. Really a special Lil pistol
Great review. I’ve heard nothing but positive feedback!!
I have a 5” Walther PDP and hands down it’s the best striker fired pistol that I have ever shot!
I love my Q4 SF and will add this to my Walther collection
I had done training, my friend who’s the instructor has the full size version, I used it and fell in love with it. Ordered the compact version and it arrived on Valentines Day. Happy Valentine’s for me lol
Within a week I put 300 rounds through it and love it! However the thread protector keeps coming loose. Fantastic pistol and by far my favorite!
Thread locker. Or better yet. Get a comp and put those threads to use
Go buy some rubber o-rings and put one in then the protector. It will help.
I too have tiny hands and like the way that looks in yours. Thanks for the review
The gray color is 🔥🔥
Great Review Bro ! Walther Something else !
walther PDP are the best. got all the variants. steel frames as well.
I love the trigger on my Spreewerk 1944 P38 and my 2001 P99 as well, sir.
The P99 AS was the peak of pistol firearms; a striker version of HK’s LEM hammer system. Just too smart for the marketplace.
I got the gray version of that gun paired with SureFire x300u and a holoson 507c. absolutely love it !!!
LGS has the gray version. It feels so perfect in the hand. I've had a hard time walking out without it.
My "Pro SD" PPQ through PDP-F Journey
1. Started with the PPQ Q4 Tac (when it was 1st released).
A. Immediately tried changing the sights (don't like rear windage and elevation adjustable sights on a carry pistol - target pistol OK but not carry) & found there's no fixed rear sights for the Q4 Tac (Walther's website incorrectly listed sights compatible that aren't - no dovetail on Q4 Tac)
B. Ended up buying another complete slide with extra barrel from Walther USA and sold the Q4 Tac slide (kept the threaded barrel - of course)
2. Bought the PDP-F in 3.5"
A. Swapped out the barrel with the spare 4" PPQ barrel (from the complete slide I got from Walther)
They turned a tried and true Walther into a Waltuh. I love it.
I have the gray one you mentioned as my EDC and love it.
After watching this I think this will be one of my next purchases!
In the market for the PDP Pro Compact and found your channel. Great review, you bring a lot of energy, enthusiasm & knowledge! Thanks for sharing ...you just earned a new subscriber, looking forward to checking out your channel/vids!
the 15 lb stainless steel guide rod from zr tactical makes this shoot so much better. doesn’t feel so “pushy” like it does with the stock spring. and i never had one failure through 1200 rounds with it
Same here. I put in a 15lb zr spring/stainless rod and no (and I mean ZERO failures) and I just put my 3,000th round through it yesterday and I have put everything though it from the cheapest junk to the expensive match grade and 115 and 124 gr ammo.
Can’t wait for the follow up on the gun. I’m intrigued how it runs with all the goodies
Got mine with a Compensator and a Steiner MPS. It is very accurate and reliable. Even with the weight of the red dot and the Comp
Picked one up for 680 no tax online 😎. Awesome firearm
Hey bro, I just wish my dad was still alive to see all the huge number of options in the gun market!!
God Bless!
You should go check out the new PDP380
bought 2 PK 380s. 1st one suffered a broken extractor within a few months. 2nd one was rusted inside which we found upon getting it home and field stripping. Returned it. Great ergonomics, terrible quality control. I’ll stick with Canik.
@@bobfoster687 that’s why I said the PD380 and not the PK380. Are you running a 380 gun from Canik?
Cz guy through and through. That being said. PDP Pro SD full size is my nightstand gun. I take it to the range every 2 months or so. It shoots so good. The trigger is an afterthought. It smokes almost anything I've shot, just a bit too bulky to edc for me as I am a thinner guy.
Thanks! I love watching your videos.
Hey twin 😂
same
I am GenX and growing up sights were typically fixed, most of our dads had some kind of revolver that we'd go shoot at the dunes without asking, horrible triggers in retrospect, shooting was socially without stigma, blah blah blah.
Agrees about the sights. I have the setup I like and all my pistols get the same. I don't want to pay extra for the one thing I'm gonna swap out.
I Love mine I have W-PDP full size and Compact love both...
I have the Walther PDP Pro SD compact in tungsten grey. I’m rocking the ameriglo blacked out suppressor height sights and with Aimpoint Acro on it. It’s sweet shooting pistol. Honestly this should James Bond’s new gun.
Holosun SCS PDP will co-witness with stock sights. The trigger is nuts.
I have one and love it. My next one will be the gray one.
My green one is coming Tuesday. Can’t wait :)
Don't loose your following for a shady insurance company....im sure attorneys on retainer would put you on payroll...may not be as big of a bag but you ain't selling your soul atleast.stay TRUE to yourself dawg
That gray model is sweet!!!! I really like that, and it sounds like an awesome gun!!! I might have to get me one in the future…
Just bought one 🎉
I'm a huge Walther fan. I have the P99 AS 40 cal and the PPS compact 40 cal (mini pitbull). I'm trying to justify purchasing this PDP...
Sweet trigger for sure...
I picked up the grey version installed a 509t acss and a Herrington arms micro comp and I love it stupid accurate with it
The PDP Pro SD is excellent, and bows pretty much everything else in its price range away.
Just looking at this in my local gun store! It’s my next purchase either in the gray or the green. Keep up the good work.
Great info, we need that follow up video with the gray PDP Pro
cant wait to try this gun. thanx for the content
On 1911's and 2011's it's Beaver Tail on everything else it's The Tang Bruddah!
They aren’t clones. They are literally using the machines used on the old waltzers and prints
@@MervinG1995 whatever. Nerd.
I cant really take your review seriously serious. Every gun you review is the best gun ever.
I have the full size 5.1 inch version and love it!
FANTASTIC pistol.
Excited to see how the Walther PDP Pro SD performs with that brand-new Performance Duty Trigger!
I’m making my Springfield echelon in that same color scheme
I recommend a comp from Herrington Arms or Parker Mountain Machine. I use the HA for course and range and the PMM for bullseye. I love them both in my pdp setups!!!
Walthers are tough
For Fellow VETS this gun is $655. At the time i was looking for range gun i went with Echelon which i got for less than $600 because its always out of stock.
From where could I get it blue label pricing?
@@cheyenneobregon184what is blue label
@@cheyenneobregon184 They have a form on their website just search LE sales.
My PDP SD PRO is on order as we speak I already have the 1st Gen PDP
I love Walther guns. Getting additional magazines is a pain in the backside.
Can you elaborate on this? I was thinking of buying this PDP pro sd
Tried MidwayUSA?
Aesthetics lookin more and more like a Springfield XD had a baby with a Glock.. I ain’t mad at it, but the OG PPQ smooth aesthetic will forever be iconic🤩
Still, if they offer one in olive drab with the same parkerized steel parts, I’m absolutely picking one up🤤🤤
Jerry Miculek, the only man capable of suppressive fire with a flintlock, teaches the use of leverage as a technique for recoil control.
It's like Walther was listening to him when they made that gun.
