  • Flood light was not working. So I replaced the old light with a new light. Out with the old in with the new. Old light had no ground wire but new light does. I put everything in properly to the best of my knowledge but the light still isn't working. Please comment feedback. If you know comment below THANKS 😊

00:30 Hold up!🤚 That bare wire is your ground. It is slightly corroded. Clean it with some sand paper(or something similar) to remove the corrosion. Then you can secure(screw) it, into the same location you screwed the green wire.

“Ground” means it actually goes to the ground. The way it does that is through the bare wire. If your home is wired properly, that bare wire is connected to a post that goes into the ground, adjacent to your home. Simply connecting the green wire, from the fixture, to the metal box does not ground the light… …unless the “ground”(bare) wire(from the power source) is also connected to the “metal” box, or the screw that you secured the green(ground) wire to.
Express Lane: If there is no connection, between these two wires, it is “NOT” grounded. 😎👍🏼
