Hey guys, here is link for the Part 2 :
How to Install a Ring Floodlight Cam Plus (Install and Set Up) ua-cam.com/video/fFZzGbCjNQk/v-deo.html
What if I do not have a wall socket near garage door?
What if there was a frame stud where you drilled the hole for the junction box?
Totally not to code. You should say you are not an electrician and this video is for entertainment purposes only.
@@gisthefirstbisthesecond9820 do you even know what you are talking about?
Thanks for the video. Think it’ll just be easier to return the camera.
Thanks for watching!
Video was dog 💩
😂😂😂 fr
Just buy 1 with plug-in cable
Lmaooo
I like a video like this because I watch other videos, to set it up, but they don’t quite help because they’re taking out the flood lights and that’s not really the one I’m looking for, but thank God I found this video the one I’ve been looking for
Thank you for nice comment!
If you're trying to install the Ring Floodlight cam (model # 2210C-XYZ) with a 5" base and you need a junction box for it, you'll discover that round junction boxes with 5" diameters are very difficult to find. The large majority of them are 4".
I finally found one that'll fit. It's the Grainger Surface mount wiring box, 5", White (model # 14G265).
But, bear in mind that Grainger has really odd hours. They close at 4 pm on weekdays, and they are closed all day Sat and Sun.
Oh good to know! We have an electrician coming to install the Pro to replace the traditional floodlight for $195, but that spot is next to the porch door, which is not too high above ground. I'm a bit concerned that intruders can just reach it and remove 😅. We'd want to install it higher, but now that I bet the electrician cost would be twice as high 😅🙃🤑.
You're the 🐐
Why did you leave the romex visible, couldve ripped open the ceiling in the garage to run from the garage door opener
Did you need an adapter to go on your drill? Or can it be just as any other bit and goes right in?
This is why I like UA-cam university.Thank you 🙏
Me thinking my flathead, drill, and maybe a butter knife would solve my problems. My husband would come home to find our house destroyed 🤣 great video though. Guess I’ll hold off on this camera.
Coulding you run junction box and mount it on the outside and an adapter on the outside? No need for such a huge hole.
6/3/24 Where did you get that nifty wire splitter?
Can i run the wire off the wires of the garage door opener?
Yes
Great video. I am thinking doing the same myself for a flood light in front of my garage. Can you please send me a link where you bought the circular junction box and the nail you used to nail the junction box to the concrete wall? Thank you.
Thanks! Everything is listed in the description of the video.
@@CreativeProcessDIY thank you so much sir! Keep posting, I love your videos. You inspired me to DIY!
@@CreativeProcessDIY sorry, I don’t see the circular blade you used to cut into the stucco for the round junction box. Please post? Thank you.
I don’t see the circular blade either
Home Depot
What kind of new wire did you run from the camera to outlet?
I included a list of materials used (w/links) in the description
14/2 romex works
You cant run romex wire on the surface of the wall needs to be in the wall the entire way..... or run THHN wires in conduit like plastic pvc or emt or flex conduit 😅
I’m curious if it’s only sticking out say 4 inches under the over hang is that an issue? Or should I still cover with conduit ? Like is it just for weather protection or prevent something or someone actually puncturing it the future
@@Oneklickmedia I mean that’s fine just keep an eye on it lol it’s more for physical damage and weather, it’s not to code but you’ll be ok
Why not just of run it to the outlet above the garage door opener ? Inside of the sheet rock ?
will it work if the lights are on a light switch? such as on a moble home
yes
Как всегда шедевр. А стены тонкие?Гипсокартон?Где выключатель?
Thanks for watching! Yes, it is drywall. The floodlight Cam must work 24/7 so it does not need a switch.
Why did you make another box hole? Switch?
The floodlight I got was a 2nd gen model, it has aluminum strands. Is it safe to connect it to copper wire?
not sure, try to contact ring customer service. they should answer your question
Ooo good question - did you get an answer? I have copper wire as well 😢
How much will it typically cost hiring an electrician to do this? In my case, they’ll have to drill through brick for access to the wiring of where I want the camera to be.
You were quite confident with what you did to have started screwing everything in place before testing.
Since this is a tutorial, you should let people know to test to make sure everything works before screwing everything sealed.
👍
Where is reset button please
Well I don't know if you do this for a living or not but I do. Let me say this... Your Electrical leaves room for improvement . Thank You
LOL WHAT should he have done better, tell us?
Bro just PLUG THE DAMN THING IN
Ok bc it came with a plug. 🙄🤣
Does the drywall contain asbestos?
Can you use that circular drill bit on brick?
yes
I don’t get it, why not wire the camera to an extension cord and plug the cord into the outlet? That’s what I did, works just fine
Why not run the wire down the wall from the attic and avoid all the holes?
the garage is a basement. the ceiling in the garage is a floor in one if the bedrooms on the second floor. no way to avoid any holes in this case
ring makes an adapter that easily plugs into the wall outlet
thanks for letting me know about that. the floodlight cam has been already installed, why would I need it?
Thank you or mentioning this that's exactly I will do . I cannot afford an electrician and I'm pretty sure I will fail even with this tutorial lol
Thanks for buying a Jeep!!!!
Now you have all these holes in your wall
holes have already been fixed and painted 👍
@@CreativeProcessDIYDo you have a video on how you patched those holes? 😂
Novice….
Hack central
This is so illegal....
have you actually done something yourself??
This is his property. What is illegal?
@@GreatLaker69 More of a building code violation than illegal, he's not going to get arrested or anything lol. One thing for sure is that he has romex wire on the surface of a wall. Romex is not to be surface mounted along a wall, you would need THHN wire and run conduit along the wall, other wise open up a few more holes in the wall to run the romex through then patch the holes afterwards.
