Really? I’d say they have fewer defenders than other companies would. For example, Nintendo is criticized WAY more over their patent lawsuit on _Palworld_ than Capcom was when they sued Koei Tecmo for the same thing. Long story short, I'm pretty sure Nintendo actually has the oppposite.

They honestly aren't that bad, most of the time they only target people working on "for profit" emulators, which is illegal unless they are doing reverse enginering for the emulation, which is almost never the case.
They say the Nintendo Switch 2 will run at the same power the PS4 does and that they shouldn’t have to call them out for underpowered software anymore. The thing is, if your console is only comparable to the PS4, a console that was created 11 years ago, you aren’t really doing something that groundbreaking.

Even 1 million is a big amount of people and a loooooooots of companies/franchises don't even hit that number of fans.
Who remembers when the guy who translated earthbound planned to make a book sharing the history behind the game's translation, only for Nintendo to force him to stop because they think a book sharing abit of history was a threat to their business.
Also your SEGA comparison is dead wrong. SEGA is loose with Sonic because of a botched contract handling with Archie comics contractors than actually make the company's ownership of the IP tenuous at best. Most people aren’t gonna buy them for the 4th time now. And third parties probably barely saw any money from individual releases as opposed to the collection they’re doing now. Some of which you can get actual physical versions. I’m not saying the option wouldn’t be appreciated, but at this point if you’re complaining you can’t play them, it’s out of laziness. There were NES/SNES emulators within the first few years of the iPhone’s life. And “now” (old) you can connect Bluetooth controllers to them. The average person could very easily get most of these games and more with little effort. It’s probably more of an issue with 3D games (to get on your phone).

I used to hate Nintendo starting back from the Genesis days all the way to the PS2 era; only really giving them credit for their amazing handhelds and occasionally messing with the Gamecube and Wii (which I bought, but really didn't play as much as my other consoles). But now, due to the overall direction of the gaming industry; they have become my favorite gaming console manufactures (despite some of their flawed practices) because for the most part; they are safe and less predatory. I will take them and all their archaic ways of gaming; over the all streaming, online prioritized ways of their competitors. Nintendo is the only company that prioritizes offline multiplayer experiences and traditional games and with a console like the Switch; it shows in spades.
Growing up is realizing the company that has been most pro consumer IS Playstation *Game Of The Year nominated games go on sale the YEAR OF its release *Accessories are discounted frequently *Games in general are discounted in the holidays *Continually looking to further their console and games to the future while Nintendo stays in the past with poor performance and visuals. Everything I've listed here and more is why Playstation is a much better company to be a fan of.. are they perfect? No. Will you feel completely ripped off and disrespected as a fan? Absolutely not. That matters to me and as someone who started on the SNES and quickly moved to PS2 as a kid I haven't looked back and don't regret it one bit and when Playstation has been criticized in the past they are also quick to acknowledge the mistakes and change while Nintendo has ignored these criticisms for decades and are worse for it.

2:27 that is a complete lie. Most online games are using P2P like for instance fighting games to decrease latency. Servers only make sense for games with a lot of players. In Nintendos case, only Splatoon and Mario Kart would benefit a lot from dedicated servers, as even 4 player games should still be perfectly fine with P2P. The problem is Switchs abismal Wifi Chip, especialy for people who use Switch in handheld mode, and the bad netcode of their games.
Correct. Although I do wonder why something like SMM2 and Smash are/can be horrid while Splatoon and Mario Kart are fine. Do the devs suck? Is there something on the back end that’s screwed up? Because all those games are gonna have a wide variety of players and connection types, so I don’t think it’s a matter of “this game appeals to a hardcore crowd which mostly uses Ethernet, while this other game appeal more to kids that will use Wi-fi”.
@@mrshmuga9 probably more of "this game is designed to be played in local coop, so let's just put minimal work into it." Considering 3d World and NSMB didn't get online coop for that reason, I'm more suprised, that they now at least give the option to play online. That line of thinking probably also explains, why it is mostly more difficult to play with friends online. Because with friends, you are supposed to meet up and play on the same console on the couch. But I kinda find it more sad, that for a lot of people, this isn't a possibility anymore.
@@mrshmuga9 well for Mario kart i think there is a reason for it as every iteration of Mario Kart always runs well online (for the Wii it was one of a few games that did) so whatever it is they always make sure that Mario kart runs well (this could be for several reason one being for how well the series has sold.).
@@mrshmuga9 Simple: Splatoon and MK8 are better suited for online. They have a netcode that doesn't need the same level of synchronization than smash or SMM2. These 2 games need the players and game elements to be synchronized with a close to 0 frames delay, that's why they have input delay each frames. In Mario Kart for example, the netcode doesn't need that level of synchronization. It only needs to update the position and state of each players and items each few frames and it can correct things sometimes, that's the reason you may sometime see someone in front of you falling but then still being in front of you. That's your game believing that other player fell but then being corrected by the netcode receiving the information that they didn't fell and are further in the race.
GameCube and Wii games are pretty big compared to older games so I feel like drip feeding will be slower, also Genesis games (and Master System games (they need to add these, it would be very easy)) were on Wii virtual console. 3DS also had Game Gear games (also add these).
@@42642heavensentI doubt the Wii is that much of a burden to emulate on Switch 1. It was barely better than GameCube which was 3 consoles ago. The likely real reason, is that they’re able to sell remasters/ports for $40-60, so there’s less incentive to add it to a growing subscription. But also because even if they want to add it to an existing or new subscription tier, they’d rather drip-feed it longer. There’s still plenty of N64/GBA games they haven’t added, let alone another two consoles.
I think Nintendo if fimrly going to remake or remaster anything from the GC and WII era. They’ve already done so with paper Mario, sunshine, Metroid, and dkcr. IMO GameCube should be on the service but if they are on the level of prime remastered and TTYD they are worth new releases. Besides they need to make entirely new controls for Wii games and they are being lazy AS HELL with NSO controls for n64. Wii being on nso basically means we’d only get the games with classic controller compatibility
@@haroldasusus4684 i could see that. Gamecube games are definitly the ones, that could use remakes the most, since these games are some of the more unpolished ones, since most of them were rather rushed.
And also Sega is okay with roms unlike Nintendo. All of us are getting fucking pissed off at Nintendo. They are a horrible corporation where all they don’t give a shit about everyone except themselves!
How come if Nintendo is losing a bit paying licences to SEGA, they managed to sell SEGA Virtual Console games, have free online servers that didn’t lag or glitch in weird ways, and have one of their worst selling consoles, the Wii U during that era? And remember the Wii U is a VERY underpowered console that ran older games flawlessly so i’m surprised to find out how the Switch is failing (for reference the Wii U has 1GB RAM and plays BOTW in HD with no lag). Their main titles used to cost $50, and the Eshop had music!!! Boy do I miss the old Nintendo. And THANK YOU for making a video that points out all these problems and how they can be fixed. You should have replaced Reggie when he left :D (why on earth did i write an essay for a youtube comment; enjoy my anger ig)
The NSO emulators actually perform perfectly fine... If you use the cracked versions. They don't stream, they just play roms, so the lag from the needless anti-consumer game streaming just doesn't exist. If you want to beat the dripfeed too, you can even mod in your own games. The best answer to nearly every Nintendo problem is to flip them off with rampant piracy. They've made this beast themselves.
@@mythosinfinite6736The games aren’t being streamed. It’s why you can play them offline for one, but also why you have to download an update when a new game arrives. I doubt it’s authenticating constantly since you can play it offline for a month without connecting. Probably just checks when you first boot up the app.

I would NEVER want Nintnedo to replace the Sega Genesis games on NSO. People do really love those games and I think their place on the service is of great value. Seriously, this whole argument of the Expansion Pack not being worth it is just ridiculous. When you combine all six systems, Nintendo Switch Online currently has 267 FREAKING GAMES!! IMO there is only one thing I truly “hate” or dislike and it’s the joycons on the switch, that’s it. Everything else people are just hating that they have to make money… as if they don’t have staff that they need to pay, or that they don’t let fans use their I.P. the way they want them to. They have been honest in being realistic about their product and like I said in the beginning, the joy that this one company has given me all my life, has been invaluable.
*The easiest way to stop piracy is not by putting anti piracy technology to work. It's by giving those people a service that's better than what they are receiving from the pirates -Gabe Newell* This is why I buy games from Steam, instead from the thick skulled Suetendo executives
It's crazy that nintendo STILL doesn't release Nintendo originals on PC... like if they don't want to team up with steam they can make their own launcher.
Sega needs their own online service for their own new console. Think about it. Sega has a larger library if you toss in all 4 consoles (Master System, Genesis, Saturn, and Dreamcast) plus handheld titles via Game Gear. That's more than enough for an online service. Sega Ages titles should be on it too and it should have more arcade titles added every month. You may hate Sega games, but I freaking love them. So you have a new Sega console to compete with Nintendo's and that in turn forces Nintendo to be more competitive with their online service.
A handheld would be cool but there is next to no reason for sega to make a new console. What would this console actually offer that the other 3 options plus pc don’t? Nothing. What’s the point of designing, marketing, porting, etc all the consoles controllers accessories and physical games when there isn’t really space in the market for it?
@@haroldasusus4684 A handheld that acts as a second screen for VMU stuff for Dreamcast for one thing. Also you can take games on the go and it's everything up to the Dreamcast era. PSO games would work this way too, yeah there's the Steam deck, But this would be a cross play thing between the console and the handheld. It would all be built into it like the Wii U was, not separated like the Switch. The handheld would be much smaller though so it would be more practical to take on the go. Just my idea for it. But yeah. Sega made a bunch of games with online support and had games made by third party for it too. Quake III for example. Ooga Booga would be one to bring back for some online chaos. Just being stuck with Genesis on Switch Online is boring and dumb. It shows that Sega has zero confidence in itself and it's history of console games. Nothing wrong with the Genesis, it was probably their most successful. But all we get is Genesis. That's why it's better to have it all under one roof for a better price to boot. If Sega is releasing on their own platform, that changes everything. Imagine that with a big new 3D Sonic game. That would be your pack in game if not a sports game, fighting game, or FPS. If switch was dedicated console. It's easier to make spec better than current switch.
As an ex-Nintendo fan and currently SEGA fan, I think Nintendo should really take all of your words into consideration. They make great games but they really need to calm down with protecting their IP and let us make fan games out of them. They need serious improvement.
And they ARE letting you make fan games, as long as it's not meant to replace one of their products (don't remake 1-1) or is in direct competition with something they are making (AM2R, Mario Battle Royal, etc)
All these complaints, especially about Nintendo Switch Online I think are very unjustified. By this point, Nintendo Switch Online IS worth the $50. Fact is Nintendo is not going to see much of that money and I doubt they are pursuing the funds from Gary Bowser. they "aren't as aggressive" because they cant do it thanks how laws perceive differently when it comes to piracy ... not because they are "kind"... they got the leg up on Yuzu because of the massive TOTK leak and the company Tropical Haze LLC was stationed in America... meaning its easy target for Nintendo.. (it also explain why they still cant get Ryujinx yet, since they are based on Brazil which has much greyer areas when it comes to piracy)
@@imatiu reverse engineering isn't illegal (and it is considered your work) no matter how much you want to slice it... that applies to getting donations and money on it.. Yuzu got their pants caught because of TOTK getting leaked early..
@@schikey2076 reverse engineering by definition has to create something without using the original source code, so there is an argument that anything using the cryptographic keys without licence to them is not reverse engineering and thus not legal. Nintendo said as much on their lawsuit against YuZu and the argument is, legally speaking, solid enough to warrant consideration. So any Switch emulator, since Switch games have cryptographic keys to read the games, could be argued to be illegal. Most people say YuZu didn't go to trial because they had made so many mistakes that they didn't have any hopes of winning, but while that is true, Nintendo's arguments against emulators are honestly good enough that if they ever decide to go to trial against any emulator they could win it. It is certainly not a certainty either way, but if Nintendo was as litigious as people claim it to be there would be many more cases of Nintendo suing more projects.
There is this one SM64 mod called B3313, and it tries to recreate what the beta version would have looked like. The reason why it’s called B3313 is because they want to hide it from Nintendo so they won’t file a DMCA on their game. Plus, B3313 is unfinished on purpose, because it’s supposed to be a recreation of a beta build.
Orrrrrr fans just have very high and unrealistic expectations when they ask nintendo for things. And when Nintendo gives them the thing they asked for, the fans start hating nintendo. This is gonna happen if the next console is gonna be a switch 2
I don't understand why Nintendo doesn't hire the dolphin team and just use their emulator, and then hire a rom site to port all the games for them. I get that these companies like their in house developments, but 1st party emulation ALWAYS lacks the awesome features that fan emulators have. Dolphin can upscale games and add shaders. Nintendo made another bad move and that is Palworld.

That line of thinking probably also explains, why it is mostly more difficult to play with friends online. Because with friends, you are supposed to meet up and play on the same console on the couch. But I kinda find it more sad, that for a lot of people, this isn't a possibility anymore.
Facts my wifi chip is dying as we speak

I don't think the switch could handle Wii emulation so they would probably wait until the Switch 2
@@42642heavensentI already have my doubts about the Switch being able to emulate GameCube titles.

The screen could also play modern games on the go same as Nintendo. The difference is the library of games. Maybe a new Skies of Arcadia! :D PSO3 as a new exclusive too. PSO2 New Genesis is ok but a total upgrade is what the series needs, maybe some single player RPGs too. Put me in charge of Sega, dammit! I'll turn them around!
@@MacUser2-il2cx so a Wii U but sega and also portable?? Again I just don’t see why someone would buy an expensive new console just to play sonic adventure 2
On top of that you have to compete with the switch in an era where everyone either has one or a pc portable system. Just seems like sega would be dumping millions into a platform just to make everyone pissed off sonic won’t be on playstation, switch, and pc

I have my own gripes with Nintendo, but they’re far from the worst company, and unlike MOST people, I don’t hate them.
Same.
I only dislike the Switch, the games are good but the Switch overall i just see it as a downgrade vs the Wii U and a sidegrade vs the 3DS lineup.
Also every Switch game that i played felt laggy AF for each button press vs any other console (including previous Nintendo ones).
Most people don't hate them.
A lot of people have issues over absolutely petty things they do.
If you remove all Wii U ports on Switch including Zelda BOTW, the library don't look that great.
Also.. The #1 best selling game on Switch is a Wii U game...
Nah the switch is a bad console I don’t mean by games the games are good. I mean the system is weak and bad I’ve had three nintendo switches throughout its life span cause they have caused me a lot of problems, joy cons drift, Screen glitches, replacing screens, and the console won’t read the games. 😢
Even the games aren't good. There are literally free mobile games that have more soul and depth than 98% of all Nintendo exclusives.
@@cheerful_crop_circle well true for some new nintendo games. But when the switch came out its first two years was good at least for me mostly zelda and oddesy and smash.
agreed. people say switch is great console. I'm not fan of switch. I don't get that why they needed to ditch handhelds like 3DS and merge them to switch. the reason why switch is still weaker than (10 years old) PS4 is maybe because it's handheld + console. If switch was dedicated console. It's easier to make spec better than current switch.
I quit Nintendo 2 Years now, best decision in my life, yet
As an ex-Nintendo fan and currently SEGA fan, I think Nintendo should really take all of your words into consideration. They make great games but they really need to calm down with protecting their IP and let us make fan games out of them. They need serious improvement.
No they don't. No one cares about this
When the last time sega made a gaming system? Enjoy the L.
"Ex-nintendo fan" what does that even entail bruh 😭😭😭 you can still enjoy their games and shit, what's the point of labeling yourself as such
And they ARE letting you make fan games, as long as it's not meant to replace one of their products (don't remake 1-1) or is in direct competition with something they are making (AM2R, Mario Battle Royal, etc)
@@Josuh I used to be a Nintendo fan but not anymore.
This is why the Steam Deck is such a great alternative. ;)
All these complaints, especially about Nintendo Switch Online I think are very unjustified. By this point, Nintendo Switch Online IS worth the $50. They have an amazing selection of classic games from throughout their history, and they do play well. Any problems you might have experienced has been fixed. They are always making sure people will get to experience some amazing games from across six systems.
"I have the solution for your problems nintendo!!"

Gary Bowser's $14,000,000.00 fine is restitution levied by the US Government. Nintendo never sued Gary Bowser. If you are going to be mad at Nintendo for something at least know what you are talking about.
No Nintendo actually did sue Gary Bowser. It was a civil lawsuit that Nintendo filed against Gary while he was in custody. He was forced to pay Nintendo 10 million dollars just from Nintendo suing him. Though you are correct about the government getting involved, as Gary had to deal with the criminal charges against him as well. In the end he has to pay 14.5 million dollars in total.
@@ProjectionProjects2.7182 I was wrong. Nintendo did sue Gary Bowser. However, the case was settled out of court and Gary Bowser actually agreed to pay $10 million in liabilities. Either way Gary Bowser was going to be hit with millions in restitution as $4.5 million was fined strictly from the US Government in the criminal case.
Fact is Nintendo is not going to see much of that money and I doubt they are pursuing the funds from Gary Bowser. Nintendo just wants to maintain the status quo which is to have a only few people willing to engage in illegal hacking of their products and not have the general public too comfortable with violating their copyright.
Fact is again I apologize and I did not properly read the results of the case. Foot in mouth moment... 😔
@@Shinjiduo Yeah no problem, we all make mistakes. I did not know that that Nintendo and Gary settled though. Its all good anyway.👍
Because Nintendo was just like another company that doesn’t care about the game or they care about making money and putting out games and having their control the best thing we could do is enjoy what we have when we had it
GameCube and Wii on NSO is a no brainer but I think Nintendo would rather charge you $60 for a remake or remastered game like Thousand Year Door and Skyward Sword HD
GameCube would be great but there is a 0% chance Nintendo would properly translate Wii controls to both handheld and docked switch just to throw it on NSO. They can’t even let you remap buttons for n64
If they do come expect that “deluxe expansion” to be 100 bucks a year
Also, Nintendo would probably like to remake most of their Gamecube games, since they are rather unpolished and missing content, and I doubt, Nintendo is proud of these games.
@@LG555 what games are unpolished? This was still in the era before updates so yeah there’s not as much content but for the most part I haven’t had huge glitches or design oversights on any first party GameCube game.

Sunshine may handle well, but things like collision are pretty broken, especialy Corona Mountain and the Pachinko machine.
With Melee, I can redirect you to Asumsaus video series of One Issue with every Character. Even competitive gameplay is mostly just oversights from development, like spikes existing or everything about G&W.
Here's my take on switch online. Switch online is 20 dollars a year. Ps plus and Xbox live core is 10 dollars a month. That's 120 dollars a year. You don't own the games when you pay for a subscription service but you do when you buy them (Physically). You won't play the free games often enough to justify that much money unless that's all you ever do or actually play more than 2 games on a consistent basis. 4 dollars a month for online play is amazing when you ignore all the "Free games" they give you
i am a nintendo online subscriber from hk, but most of the free retro games are just in japanese so rpg games like pokemon are just impossible to play :(
heya! speaking as another NSO subscriber from HK, I have my account's region set to the US and that is what NSO checks to see where you live, you should be able to get at least English games if I remember correctly

Now Nintendo gets exposed
I feel like they don't listen under the current CEO_s_ compared to when Iwata was still around.
This is not yet another cry for Iwata-sans death (and this guy was amazing, no doubt) but the CEOs Nintendo had ever since are so quite and strict in their directions, you can tell these guys are business people more than developers and gamers. I as someone who enjoys SEGA stuff would actually like to keep the MegaDrive stuff in but at the same time EXPAND on it so we get Saturn and Dreamcast stuff too, next to GameCube and Wii/WiiU games for the next Switch.
That would justify the the 50€ price tag for me per year, provided they also allow to buy and download all these games separately like it was a thing during the Virtual Console days.
Iwata's passing marked a before and after in Nintendo history, it's insane
"People don't care about SEGA games." ...Right. Could say somethin' real damn mean rn...
You have fundamentally misunderstood how galaxy was implemented in 3d all stars. They completely recompiled the game so they wouldn't have to emulate it. It runs natively on switch.

DMCA also don't change anything, most consumers in thr world don't care or know these lawsuits and dmca exist, you need to stop thinking internet world is the samr as the general market because it's not, otherwise Nintendo wouldn't sell any console or games for 10 years already. @@WickedlyChill Kind of a moot point to make. Who'd of thought a console with such good exclusives would sell well??!
Anyone who grew up dealing with the "Disney Vault" knows why most older Nintendo games aren't available to purchase. Artificial scarcity. Also, Sega is happy to let Sonic fan games run wild because it creates a public relations smoke screen for their parent company. Which makes pachinko machines.
1:51 How 😂
This is very nice but nintendo will never see this or do this.
0:52 smash doesn’t end the game when one person quits. It replaces the other player with a CPU and doesn’t reward any gsp at the end of the game
It's a misnomer that SEGA is kind. SEGA shuts down other fan projects for other IP. They're only kind with Sonic. Just sonic. Why? Well watch Moon channels video for more.
A botched contract with Archie Comics is why. Man, it’s crazy how much damage Archie did to Sega. They basically own half the character at this point.

This video doesn't make sense to me because Nintendo fans praise everything Nintendo does regardless if its trash, they always find a way to damage control Nintendo's failures and only bash Sony and Microsoft for their mistakes
It's wild to me the passes they'll give Nintendo. They're so greedy they'll sell old games on underpowered hardware for a full $60-70 and the price never goes down a penny. Mario Odyssey is still a strict $60 and it came out about 8 years ago 💀 I got eldin ring for $40 at Walmart

My OG 2002 Metroid Prime copy for the Nintendo gamecube was $9.99. After the Wii, i switched to PC master race. Console game pricing just sucks, same as 60fps/60hz with current blurry af modern screens vs CRTs from the past and 0 input delay.
I own Halo MCC, around $10 i think on XBOX store on PC.
Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are doing such a massive scam with those game prices on console, i just stay with Valve and steam pricing/discounts now for the most part.
Here in Germany the price for Zelda BotW went from the starting price of 60€ to now 65€. It is getting more expensive!
The point about emulation is kinda wrong in some aspects, Nintendo really isn't nearly as agressive when it comes to taking down emulators as people say they are.
Most of the time Nintendo leaves emulation alone, as long as the emulators are not being eggregious about breaking laws and rules. Yuzu for example had a version specifically to play a game that hadn't even released yet and that version was behind a paywall.
Hell Dolphin is still being worked on and Nintendo has known about it for a while, there is a recompiled Zelda Ocarina of Time and Mayora's Mask version for PC that is still available. It's just the ones that do really stupid crap the ones that get served by Nintendo.
they "aren't as aggressive" because they cant do it thanks how laws perceive differently when it comes to piracy ... not because they are "kind"... they got the leg up on Yuzu because of the massive TOTK leak and the company Tropical Haze LLC was stationed in America... meaning its easy target for Nintendo.. (it also explain why they still cant get Ryujinx yet, since they are based on Brazil which has much greyer areas when it comes to piracy)
@@schikey2076 right... And I'm sure it has nothing to do with Ryujinx not paywalling any builds of their emulator unlike what YuZu did.

reverse engineering isn't illegal (and it is considered your work) no matter how much you want to slice it...
that applies to getting donations and money on it..
Thank you for understanding
