I feel like it’s just a “grandma” thing , no matter how much you want to help them, they feel it’s their responsibility to spoil you with everything they have as their way of showing affection, bless her. I’d still find another way to maybe give her some money, like leaving it with one of her family members or employees she trusts Edit: oh man, so sweet of you to get her the glasses, can tell she really really appreciates you, the way she considers you her nephew aha
so sweet of the lady in the store playing along with the cheap price so grandma doesnt object haha. youre rlly kind for doing this. i hope grandma will let people help her more often
You’re the one traveler youtuber I follow. Love your honesty, how friendly you are with locals and not beeing negatives about what you see. I mean thats normal after 5 years but still. Thanks for the trip in true Vietnam, and I’m looking forward whats next for you
I'll miss your Vietnam videos. That's how I originally found you. First video I ever saw, was when you were with Max I think. In an ice cream place I think or boba. I forgot, but Some lady was trying to talk shit about you guys and giving them COVID I think, and she got nervous when she realized you understood her lol. You can never say no to Grandma btw! Those are the rules for Grandmas everywhere! 🤣 Man, I remember the first time you guys found her too. I'll miss these Vietnam vids and her energy. 🙏🏽
Good luck on your journey. I understand the feeling of getting old and wanting more peace and quiet. But instead of leaving for good, it may be good to come back once in a while, maybe in a few years.
Definitely the best video you have posted. I am Vietnamese and I know she truly adores you. Good souls always find one another. Take care and enjoy your new journey. 😊
Always loved seeing her. I wish I could go to Vietnam, I would love to see her in person. She's so selfless and just an amazing person. When she tells you not to worry about her, I just want to hold her hand and tell her that I do care about her - how she's been one of the best people we've met in Vietnam. (Heck, even the world.) I'm so glad she let down her guard a bit for you to do something nice for her. God bless her!
So proud of you for taking care of your Vietnamese Grandma. I watched this video with my Mom, my sister who are in Colorado - along with my aunt who visits us from Saigon. They are so impressed with your Vietnamese.
A very rare sad video, seeing Grandma hurts my heart a bit and reminds me of my own. The fear of surgery is common since from when they were young, it was a huge risk at that time so they carry that since they were young, can't help it really. I wish her the best of health and wealth to live comfortably🙏
Hey Chris, I'll stop by the restaurant when I go out there! See how she's doing. I know very little Vietnamese so hoping I can bring an interpreter lol! If she hasn't gotten her eyes checked I'd be more than happy to help out. I'll be out there in December this year.
Please see more of Grandma, I know you like to travel around and that's great but I think this is some of your best content and would love to see more of you and Grandma
Amazing ❤I hardly comment but i had to tell you how much i admired of your warming of your concern for grandma. Not only just talk but through action, you took her to get her eyes checked and treated her. She would not have gone if you didn't bring her. Her food looks delicious. I wish you bath happiness and good fortune.
Chris - you are one of the best travel Vloggers on UA-cam - by far. I so enjoyed your videos from whatever country you traveled to, but particularly Vietnam. I hope that there will be more videos from you at some point in the future! All the best.
Love the videos w Grandma. Craziness she’s never been in a car before…but she knew she wanted to sit in the front lmao. You def seemed sad Chris. Wishing you the best on your new journeys.
Really respect and admire what you did for grandma. She is so generous with others but not herself and she’s reminded me of my mom. You’re so kindness and respectful ❤ By the way, your Vietnamese is perfect 👍
Welcome back to Vietnam bro! I am vietnamese and I have been watching your channel for many years since the time that you made the content about teaching english in streets, I love watching your contents it’s always very fun to see the way that you interact with the local people. Also you speak really good Vietnamese! Hopefully we can meet one day in vietnam! Keep it up bro! Love your contents ❤
She reminds me so much of my grandmother. Sad to hear about you and Max leaving Vietnam. My favorite videos are of you guys driving around, eating, and talking with the locals. Thanks to you guys I find so many good food spots in Saigon
you’re so Mary man , you speak influence Vietnamese and Chinese , and you’re a good person with a sweet heart , you treat grandma very nice thanks for posting a nice clip ☺️
This video is full of emotion. I love grandma character, I love Chris and Max and we're going to miss both of you a lot. Wish you all the best and I hope to still can see you around out there.
My husband and I were so excited to see you had a new video. It was quite emotional and I cried. All the best Chris, your videos with Max have become our favourite. Also was so happy to read above someone will check in on grandma for you
You've been MIA for some time now and it's good to know that you are seemingly well. Truthfully, I'm sad to see you leave Vietnam however to some extent I guess I understand. From a selfish perspective I just hope you start pumping out a lot of content again soon since I enjoy your vlogs. All the best.
Christopher … what a gracious man you are .. doing that for dear old Grandma is probably the most beautiful thing you could do for a fellow human being in need ..especially at her age ..like you said it’s not a permanent fix but for now you’ve changed her life enough so she can carry on running her restaurant and keep a roof over her head in her old age … Chris you have a beautiful soul .. this is I’m sure is one of many good deeds for humanity in your Resume 🫶🏻💋
Granda has a heart of pure gold. She reminds me of my grandmother, god rest her soul. She would serve me a plate of food .. then say here eat some more. I was tapping out at this point, my dad said , ‘ EAT IT ! ‘, she was his Mother in law.
This is such a great video, from breakfast to the opticians and the Farewell meal. Reminds me of my mum and grandmother. ❤ I'm in Saigon in 2 weeks. Going to stay for 3 weeks this time. I will pop by 🤗🙏 makes me miss my grandma

I am so sad already, please don't disappear from us, you have made me cry by leaving VN for good . .I live in USA, but been following both of you forever. Max, are you also moving back to USA too.? Please share what you two planning to do. God bless ❤

That’s a great thing you did for grandma to help her get her eyes checked. 🙏🏼👈🏼
Damn, this was heartwarming. You're such a good person.
So sweet. Awesome to get her glasses she's needed. Hopefully viewers go visit her and bless her restaurant with more business!

That was so sweet of you, although she quibbles, its not about the money, she values your time and attention far more.
One of the best videos you have done!! She feels like my grandma…i will definitely go to her restaurant next time i am in Ho Chi Minh.
Good luck on your journey. I understand the feeling of getting old and wanting more peace and quiet. But instead of leaving for good, it may be good to come back once in a while, maybe in a few years.

So sad when you leaving Vietnam. This country make me feel like second home! ❤
It did for me as well!
So relatable about the "low" prices when I buy something for my dad. The guilt about lying at the begining, but I am used to it now.
Your VNmese grandma is amazing, at that age she is still working hard for living.
Granda has a heart of pure gold.
