I feel like it’s just a “grandma” thing , no matter how much you want to help them, they feel it’s their responsibility to spoil you with everything they have as their way of showing affection, bless her. I’d still find another way to maybe give her some money, like leaving it with one of her family members or employees she trusts Edit: oh man, so sweet of you to get her the glasses, can tell she really really appreciates you, the way she considers you her nephew aha
Chris, i normally dont leave comments in your channel but this video really touches my heart by seeing how such caring person you are toward grandma. Sincerely hope everything goes well on her health and hopefully her family member can bring her for proper eyes check. Grandma is such a kind and generous person. How hard working she is to run this restaurant and works 7 days at her age 😢. God bless her and Chris. Hopefully grandma' restaurant is getting more and more business so she doesnt need to work too hard for her living. This grandma just made me remember of my family members. I started missing them....
I love how you care for each other, like a grandma and grandson. As the writer Chingiz Aitmatov said, the most difficult thing for a person is to be human, and you both are truly genuine
On my depressed days, I found your channel, and your video in Vietnam absent mindedly made me feel heartwarming. You're such a nice, sweet, polite and gentle guy. Your Vietnamese is so impressive, incredible, better than any other foreigners, who speak Vietnamese, that I've ever known. Now you're leaving Vietnam, going back to the US. I just wanna wish you all the best in the world 'cause you deserve it. Thank you Chris for making this world a little better everyday 💜
I saw her this morning!! She is great, she talked with us instantly!! She is definitely hard to give money to, but I made it happen. She didn't let me leave without giving food to us to take home !! What a beautiful person she truly is !!! ❤❤❤
That’s great! Glad to hear! It’s definitely much harder for me as I’ve known her a long time, but you can see that even as a new customer she makes it difficult 😂 Thanks for supporting her!
More than your command of the language, it's your ability to navigate the care of our elders (who are stubborn and only want to help you but not take any help) with dignity, respect, and love that really makes you stand out. I've only just discovered your channel, but it's an instant follow for me. Thanks for sharing and best of luck on your new adventure.
Definitely the best video you have posted. I am Vietnamese and I know she truly adores you. Good souls always find one another. Take care and enjoy your new journey. 😊
Hey Chris, I'll stop by the restaurant when I go out there! See how she's doing. I know very little Vietnamese so hoping I can bring an interpreter lol! If she hasn't gotten her eyes checked I'd be more than happy to help out. I'll be out there in December this year.
I'm planning a Vietnam trip in 5 months and I can't wait to go give this absolute saint of a woman as much business as I can!! It's one of the things I'm looking forward to the most. Bless her heart.

I haven't finish watching the full video yet, but I have watched a few video's with grandma in it and she seems one of the true hearted, pure heart giving people I have seen in a long while. It's unfortunate her business is not busier and I worry regarding her health and sight. I can tell she is a fiesty gal but with that in mind have you ever thought about starting a fund me account for her. After watching just a few video's I fell in love with her uplifting spirit and think this would help her business and so she can afford health care and finer things she deserves at her age and being stubborn as she seems can start an account where money is automatically put in account. All u do is give her the account and info and let her find out how much she has in it once she can give bank book back. With the exchange rate and all she might end up being richess grandma in Vietnam lol.. I WISH her and you both long life and health

Thank you for treating her like your own , and making tons of videos of vietnam to share with the world. As an vietnamese american, I truly appreciate it!
Always loved seeing her. I wish I could go to Vietnam, I would love to see her in person. She's so selfless and just an amazing person. When she tells you not to worry about her, I just want to hold her hand and tell her that I do care about her - how she's been one of the best people we've met in Vietnam. (Heck, even the world.) I'm so glad she let down her guard a bit for you to do something nice for her. God bless her!

Your various videos show us genuine people whose expression of their deepest selves is a universal language of sincere feelings. You've been able to see this for yourself throughout your travels in Vietnam. Thank you for introducing us to the language of the heart. Good luck and good health to you and Grandma. Good luck on your journey. I understand the feeling of getting old and wanting more peace and quiet. But instead of leaving for good, it may be good to come back once in a while, maybe in a few years.
Love this video, Chris. Good luck to you and Max back in the US. Very sweet of you to take grandma to get her eyes checked and get new glasses. This would definitely be such a memorable experience for you both.
Hey Chris, it's sad to see that you leave Vietnam because your Videos always bring joy to me, I started watching your Videos while I had Anxiety and it always made me stop thinking about the bad things that happened. It's nice that you help grandma like that and it's also nice to see how the younger people act in front of Grandma, like the Lady in the Shop for the Glasses and the Taxi guy! Granda has a heart of pure gold. She reminds me of my grandmother, god rest her soul. She would serve me a plate of food .. then say here eat some more. I was tapping out at this point, my dad said , ‘ EAT IT ! ‘, she was his Mother in law.
Pal. I don’t get to watch many of your vids but when one pops up with grandma I’m straight on it..she is such a beautiful sole and she makes me laugh so much. You 3 are very lucky to have this relationship in your life. Sad that you are leaving but I know it won’t be long till you are back…if grandma sees this I’d like to say…you are an amazing woman…
Chris, Grandma, and Max are beautiful people. I'm so moved, and so are Vietnamese people! Thank you sincerely for what you do for Vietnamese people. I love you all, and best wishes for your future. Have a wonderful and safe trip back to the USA. God bless you all!
She reminds me so much of my grandmother. Sad to hear about you and Max leaving Vietnam. My favorite videos are of you guys driving around, eating, and talking with the locals. Thanks to you guys I find so many good food spots in Saigon
Yes. That is a typical Vietnamese grandma. Feeding you until you almost can’t walk. Haha. God love her! She’s so kind and selfless. Glad you got the glasses, and I hope she goes to the doctor.
You're the man with heart of gold, Chris. Your video brought tears to my eyes. We need more people like you in this world. So sad to see you guys leaving Vietnam...Best of luck to you both on your next chapter in life.
she is so sweet ...it is so sad she has having health problems. She is almost like my grandma and just make random things for me to it and everything was awesome she made
Hello Chris, I enjoyed your video so much. It warms my heart to see how you treat your grandma and other people. You have a wonderful soul. I was proud of myself to understand both languages but Im more impressed with your language and social skill as a vietnamese german. Please stay healthy and happy and don't change too much!
I think youtube has only ever served me your grandma videos. They always manage to come at a time when I need them. I never got to know my grandmas so this is so sweet. I am glad you are helping her and if I ever find myself in Vietnam I will visit.
I think Vietnam 🇻🇳 welcomed you with open arms Chris. I admire your Vietnamese even your amazing accent in the Northern accent. You picked up the language better than most westerners I hear. You’re better than me and I am Vietnamese, born there but left to come to Australia 🇦🇺 when I was 5. Good luck with the change in your life. Most people only dream off he life you had/have. ❤️💛💚🙏. And bac/grandmother speaks about you both love her kids. Truly genuine love.
This is such a heartwarming story. What a genuine person you are Chris, as is Grandma. Paying forward is the way to live ones life and you certainly did that here.
Chúc bà và gia đình luôn bình an.
Wow, she got her glasses straight away. I had to wait two weeks for mine. Thank you for helping grandma. Its a blessing to have a loving grandma like her.
Sad to hear that both you and Max are leaving Vietnam! Love both of your UA-cam channels especially you who could speak Vietnamese as well as a local with a northerner’s accent! Good luck!
Chris - you are one of the best travel Vloggers on UA-cam - by far. I so enjoyed your videos from whatever country you traveled to, but particularly Vietnam. I hope that there will be more videos from you at some point in the future! All the best.
Thank you for making this video. This is the first I’ve seen of yours and it’s so beautiful. I haven’t been to Vietnam yet, but I’ll make sure to add this to my bucket list ❤️
It is heart warming to see the love Chris and Grandma have for each other. I'm currently in Vietnam for the first time. In Three days I'm flying to Saigon for 9 days, Just checked and Grandma's Dimsun is only a 15 Min Grab ride from my hotel. I will for sure be heading there for multiple visits. I will leave more comments here with updates on how grandma is doing.
Grandma's food looks so delicious I would want to eat there very regularly and thank you Chris for helping her get glasses as she would not have gone on her own
Hello Chris, it’s really nice of you took her to examine her eyes and got her a pair of glasses. Well, at least this a right moment to pay her back and respect. Nhớ mai mốt có rảnh chở bà đi khám bác sĩ chuyên khoa mắt. You are awesome!
Just leave her an envelope with a few hundred dollars & a letter thanking her for all the unconditional love she has given you. Slide the envelope under her business door with "For Grandma"off early in the morning. She might get mad but she's gonna have no choice but to take it. Shoooott why don't you drop her info on how we can donate 💵
Came here to say this very thing! I would gladly help out Grandma; she feels like everyone's grandma at this point. However, I need to know that someone like Chris is involved in making it happen. I genuinely trust that he understands the situation and would ensure she receives the financial and personal support she needs, whatever it may be. If necessary, he'd find a way to discreetly slip the money under her door to make it happen.
She's not rich, but her heart is pure gold. It's a bittersweet video, Chris. I wish you all the best on your new adventure. And I wish ba great health.

Chris, no comparison.......your best vlog by far. Warmed my heart more than you can know. Thank you
Chris, Grandma, and Max are beautiful people. I'm so moved, and so are Vietnamese people! Thank you sincerely for what you do for Vietnamese people. I love you all, and best wishes for your future. Have a wonderful and safe trip back to the USA. God bless you all!
Both you and Max inspire me to visit the motherland ...over 20 years since I last visited back in 1995.
Love for your Vietnamese Grandma, and it’s good to see another video! (Haven’t seen one in awhile)
OMG she is such a good soul and Chris, ur an angel. God bless her always...Love from Assam, India.
She is almost like my grandma and just make random things for me to it and everything was awesome she made
I so proud of you Chris! Way to go to take care of Grandma.😊
Your awesome for doing that for her. Love this!
What a wonderful little lady, I love her.
That’s a great thing you did for grandma to help her get her eyes checked. 🙏🏼👈🏼
Oh my... Give her a big hug and kiss. What a woman!
Chúc bà và gia đình luôn bình an.
"The examiner should speak slowly and explain slowly so that the person can hear and understand clearly." = 100%
Good luck!
I love grandma! She’s so kind it melts my heart ❤
Grandma is so full of life and she truly love you like family. I wish her more success on her restaurant with lots of visitors to her business!
Grandma is the sweetest!
Grandma's food looks so delicious I would want to eat there very regularly and thank you Chris for helping her get glasses as she would not have gone on her own
She is so cute! I wish all the best for you and her! ❤
What a wonderful lady. I hope she gets her eyes better ❤
Bless you both…. Wonderful human beings.
Grandma is so kind!! You two are blessed to get to know her.
It's soo good of you to help her out, like that. 😊
She is so kind. Thanks for the video #chris ❤
The word needs more of you ... Chris and Max. I wish you guys the best,
