I've been using this cream and nothing else for the past few years. I'm a redhead with bad packaging, eczema, dry, sensitive skin from childhood. I used to spend a fortune trying to get off cortisone creams and to keep my skin from flaking. Because this works, I've saved money. I get 5 months out of the 50ml bottles 1 pump at a time. It took more to start with, but now my skins surface is smooth and full of moisture, I don't need as much. I'm thrilled to have finally, in my mid 60's, be able to have my skin be a non-issue. This has simplified my life.
Great to hear your experience. Thanks for sharing this.
I feel this. I've spent so much money over the years on trying to find something that works. I've got melasma, so my dark patches look so dry, and my skin is so terribly uneven. I have a few products from this brand coming in the next few days. I'm afraid I will love it, and not be able to afford the upkeep. But SERIOUSLY if I quit having to buy new stuff, it will be better!
I have terrible excema on my face. I have to use a cleanser that won’t irritate my skin. I purchased this today. I’m so hoping it doesn’t flair my excema. I constantly use medication on my face. I’m hoping this works!
If it was to emerge that Professor Bader is actually100 years old, I'd definitely buy it!
😂😂 Love it!!
I really appreciate how you are honest and straightforward, there's no BS around the hype of popular products, you just tell it how it is!
Thank you! So glad to be helpful 😊
Im using from 3 months, and I love this product! Now, my 51 old , sensitive skin, is looking more calm, radiant, and fresh!
I tried The rich cream as la mer didn't make any difference, and I was absolutely disappointed that it made a huge huge difference. Now I have to pay for this cream, but it does last me a long time. I honestly thought that after trying la mer, all skin products were just hype. This really plumped my 45 year old skin and reduced my dark spots. I tried the oil in an attempt to save money, but it didn't make any difference at all. X
Is it a good makeup base?
@Kaz-xu5ot yes it is.
Thank you for the review! I would love to see some before and after pictures :)
is you have combination / oily skin, you will not enjoy the thick texture of the Rich Cream and it will most likely break you out. Instead, go with the The Cream, which is lighter, more watery, with the same benefits but without those fatty oils that your skin doesn't need, as it already has plenty of it. Don't go for the Rich version because of its hype, choose according to *your* skin type to fully enjoy what it offers
I’ve been using this cream for about two months and I love it. I used to use La Mer but not anymore. I really do think this cream is special. I read that the Rich Cream is the one with the special ingredients more than just The Cream. It’s helped with redness and acne scarring and my skin never feels dry anymore. Glad you tried it as always interested in your opinion.
That’s so interesting to hear. I think it’s a bit too rich for my oily skin but I can definitely see it’s deeply hydrating - more so than any other moisturiser I’ve tried. Really pleased you’re getting such great results from it.
Interesting I used la mer and it made me break out in spots 🤔
@@michelles2299 Those would have been some expensive blemishes!
@@thehonestchannelthe Rich cream is for dry skin…. You should have tried The Cream
@@lanal6937 Yes, I mention that this was a bit rich for my skin. I’ve since reviewed the oiI which worked well for me.
I just bought this cream and have used it for the past three days along with the cream cleanser I am not noticing anything incredible happening to my skin. I had much better success with extremely affordable K beauty products. Because I shelled out close to $500 (I also bought a hair scalp serum) I will continue to use it to see if I get any measurable results.
It’s a lot of money to pay for beauty products. Hopefully you see some better results over time 🤞
New subscriber here. Thank you for your honest and no nonsense review! Was very curious about this product but am not entirely convinced that scientists are good cosmetic formulaters :) The backstory of the brand seems suspiciously similar to La Mer (ie. working with skin burns). Of course, if it works for your skin that's the most important thing. I like your succinct analysis of the other product reviews too. Thank you!
Thanks David - great to have you as a subscriber. Next weekend i’m publishing an update to this video because I’ve been using the face oil instead which is a lot more cost effective. I think in this instance the science behind plant oils and skin regeneration is there - the big question is whether a cheaper product with a similarly high level of plant oils would give the same result. This is certainly the most concentrated oil product I’ve used.
I've been seeing loads of ads for it too. That fact that BB was raving about it when she has her own line of skin care made me sit up. Then I saw the price and slumped down again. 🤣
Thank you for buying and trying. Your honest review has made me feel that it would be lovely to try but I'm not missing out. Big Friday hug to you 🤗 ❤ ☘
😂 I hear you on the price! I think this will work better on some skin types more than others. It’s a bit too oily for mine but definitely deeply moisturising! Sending a Friday hug back to you 💕
i love this cream as well as the cream, and oil, had a sample of a serum and loved it
Thanks for sharing your experience!
I have been so curious about this product, so thank you very much for your very helpful review
You’re most welcome, Claudia. Glad you found it helpful.
I was so curious about this product. Thank you so much for reviewing it!
Glad you found it helpful!
New subbie. Thx for your review. For my very dry & mature skin, I might give this a try. Of course I may have to cut other high end things out.
Thanks for the sub, Gina. Would love to hear what you think if you do try this out.
Very helpful thank you as I’ve been thinking about buying the rich cream but will now stick to the lighter cream as i do get milia on my forehead if a cream is too rich.
I got many small bottle samples for free (I get goodie bags). It is a good cream but I also prefer it at night. It is not worth the money though.
Nourish london argan skin renew moisturiser is a good moisturiser that is not too pricy. I have very sensitive dry skin (sometimes is mixed). It gives my skin the fats/moisture it needs. :) on top I will use an oil face because the cream do not have a glowy finish for me.
Thanks for the tip!
You could also try the Victoria Beckham primer which was developed by Dr Bader and also has TFC8 actually higher on the ingredients list.
I’ll take a look at it, thanks. I’m trying the Bader oil at the moment. Way less expensive and also big on TFC8.
@@thehonestchannel I can't wait to see that review.
Thinking of trying the cream over winter .
@@leelab8307 Here it is for you now ua-cam.com/video/EFsajdffbAY/v-deo.html
@The Honest Channel Hey, new subscriber 🥰 loved your review, very detailed. I would also love a review for oil and the Victoria Beckham one. Thanks 🙏
I used this product for three months straight. I used it twice daily as directed but I was starting to see milia on my skin. I had to stop using this formula. I was willing to pay the price but the results were not transformative for me.
Yes, I found this cream a little too heavy for my skin as well. Thanks for sharing your experience.
The first moisturiser that works for me. All other AB products do nothing for me.
I had high hopes for this cream but it did not live up to the hype. Definitely not worth the exorbitant price.
will try this!💖
You might want to check out my more recent video on the cheaper Augustinus Bader oil - I love it.
I got a huge package 30ml+15ml the cream and 30ml+15ml the rich cream, and 3x30ml cream cleansers for around £200 in China. Heaps cheaper than Europe.
Wow, that does sound a lot cheaper.
Didnt like this cream (and the lighter version). Not enough hydration, sits weird on the skin, no effect. For dry skin- La Mer Soft moisturising lotions is what my skin loves in cold time of the year.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
AB is still cheaper than LA MER per oz.
Yes but la mer lasts way longer!!!
I tried it and didn't find it worth the cost.
Yes, it’s very expensive. I reviewed the oil recently and find it to be more cost effective.
Yes it sadly does live up to the hype!
You are stunning and I have no idea your age. I highly recommend an expert microblading eyebrow artist as it is life changing and far more natural than brow pencils or shadows, especially when only individual thin hairs are drawn in. Must be a highly renowned artist otherwise will not look authentic.
Totally agree and thanks for your kind words - I'm 50 : )
Did you ever find a moisturiser to fit the bill with a better price tag?
I use a little bit of the oil now which is less expensive and goes a long way. I’m not using moisturiser at all in the morning at the moment - just a vitamin c serum followed by my Paula’s Choice hydrating sunscreen and that’s working out well for me.
Do you have a favourite moisturiser you would recommend?
I've been thinking about the cream, but I doubt because of the cost.
A little does go a long way but it’s still VERY expensive.
bet the manufacturing cost would be less than a quarter of the price.
It would be so interesting to know.
Of course it is, that's how they make their money. I use Lidl serum and Moogoo udder cream. It's all about lifestyle and diet.
Could you try the Retrouve Intensive Night Moisturizer
For aging skin, would you suggest Calicum over this? Any other luxury plumping, hydrating creams you suggest?
They work quite differently but I’ve found Calecim helpful for my skin in terms of subtle plumping and rejuvenation. Augustinus Bader is great for drier skin types.
Umm 🤔 interesting what’s your thoughts on Sisley Paris black rose because I’m torn between the two?
unfortunately they reforumlated the rich cream and I don't think it's worth it now...the original was wayyyy better.
I actually just bought the oil for £65. I’ll film an update once I’ve used it for a few weeks but I’m really pleased so far.
Oh no! That's such a shame! In what way is it different now? Is it less plumping? Less hydrating?
@@Aurla-R2-D2 The texture is different which isn't bad but I couldn't notice the same change in my skin, it just was like a regular moisturizer, nice but meh....no super smoothness, clarity, and overall health like the old formula. The old one felt like it actualy did something more than just hydrate which is a first for me when it comes to moisturizers. They seemed to have removed the ceramides for some reason. Why change something that's amazing to begin with whyyyy
@@fashionsewingstuff8182 ~ Thank you so much for replying and sharing your experience. Yes, it seems like the new formulation is far less effective because some of the key ingredients have been removed and, presumably, that also makes the product far cheaper to manufacture, leading to a higher profit margin for Augustinus Bader! It's extremely disappointing that the formula was altered so it no longer gives great results! :( Which moisturizer are you using now?
@@Aurla-R2-D2 I have some of 'the cream' left that i'm currently using and actually alternating it with the body cream which surprisingly is working out great. probably the only body cream I would ever use on my face lol but I use tretion so that's really drying which is probably why the body cream works. I might just continue with the body cream once the cream finishes!
Have you tried out Swiss Toniq Geneva?
I haven’t, no, but I just looked at the website and the products look really interesting. Have you tried any? I’m tempted to give the anti-aging serum a go
@@thehonestchannel I ordered it the other day. I think it will be good, just a feeling. Fiona, the owner, seems very genuine and dedicated to her cause and the word Swiss stands for quality in my book. Very much looking forward to using it. Can report back, if you like.
@@zarminapenner That would be brilliant, thanks. Looking forward to hearing about it.
What is that? A Swiss product? Never heard of that. I am from Switzerland
@@mirjamweibel9678 Yes, a Swiss product. I am loving it. My skin is happy. Google the name. The owner is Fiona, an Englishwoman. Good luck!
I was lucky enough to get this cream in the Liberty of London advent calendar. I have only just tried it but I am put off by the smell it’s vile. I have checked out lots of reviews and no one else has mention this, do you think I may have a stale bottle? Thank you.
Oooh, I think it might be stale, yes. Mine doesn’t really have a fragrance
@@thehonestchannel thank you, that’s what I thought. I have contacted Liberty’s and I am waiting to see what they say.
I find the smell pretty neutral. If you are used to scented skin products you will find the smell of AB a letdown. Mind you, perfum adds absolutely no benefits to a cream, apart from the potential for allergies.
Wow that's expensive 😍
Sure is!
Would you still use tretenoin under this cream at night?
I've swapped back to using a retinal instead of tretinoin but it's fine to use either under this cream.
@The Honest Channel thankyou
