When filling with Foam-Mo like in your example here, about how long does it take to set before a light sanding and being able to move forward with sealing and such?
can i use these if i already sprayed my foam with plastidip? i realized there’s some cracks i didn’t expect to show that are more visible than i’d like.
There's been a weird lag in your last couple of videos. My greatest challenge is going from idea to reality. I have the whole concept in my head, I just can't figure out how to make it happen. Like adding segmentata to your Hiccup chestpiece to make a fully-covering breastplate. (But not a full cuirass, as I'll be wearing this in summer at a ren fair - comfort and mobility are of utmost concern.)
Keeping my knife sharp with stuff I have at home, keeping it free of pet hair and dust, how to clean before sealing... the type of stuff most tutorialisys don't really think to include, maybe because the answer seems obvious idk
Literally grasping the basics of this is difficult. I’ve made foam stuff I’m just WAY behind working with this stuff. And it’s VERY costly. I’ve dropped $100^ and I’ve not even made a full bucket helmet. (Now of course the supplies I bought will last a while, buuut)
I didnt put water on the quick seal so you understand what happened, how it looked like ahahaha. i will just make the cowl from start but that was a lesson.
Is the kwik seal surface similar to the foam's after priming? Because I sanded my dried kwikseal then I primed it all and the kwik seal surface was very very shiny compared to the matte surface of the primed foam. It really fucked up my prop.... So how is it after not sanding it?
It remains relatively flexible after it cures. Then we recommend you seal it with something to keep the air from getting to it. Because it is an air dry clay, over time, the more it exposed to air it will continue to dry out more. So if it exposed to air without any sealant it can eventually become more rigid and break easier of flexed. Hope that helps :)
Thanks for the comment :) you should check out some of my newer videos, I have improved the way I've done the videos and planned them out more so that they get to the essence better. :)
FILLER
Your quick tip clip videos are great
Thank you!

Depending on how thin it is, it could be ready after a couple hours, but I would give it at least over night to play it safe. :)
What’s the density rating of the WTF and how does it vary from the other professional foams?

Awesome 😎 I’m about to build an animated Batman Cowl to match my scratch built Real life Animated Batmobile

Lag, like the audio is off or, like a video glitching lag?
Question: can you use wood filler for foam?
No. Wood filler is not flexible.

All excellent questions! :) I will look at making some videos talking about this :)
Very useful, thanks

I just realized that I used Non-paintable Kwik seal. Can it be painted on after the plasti dip has been added or is the project trashed?
