Harrisons delicate slide makes this lovely song into a masterpiece. Gone Troppo is a hidden gem, in my ears. Oh God how I miss George.

The late Sir George Harrison was too good for this world. His spirituality went right over everyone's head.He found that Ringo was witty, clever, kind and enjoyed the British black humour. Two geniuses who were the best of mates who had a true code of ethics in friendship.

George had the balls to temporarily leave the Beatles over what he felt was unfair play, regarding his pitches and ideas for new songs, just to have them questioned or rejected from Paul or mocked by John. Only Ringo seemed to support George and George in turn helped Ringo with arranging Octopuses Garden. All this is evident in GET BACK. His two songs, Something and Here Comes The Sun, stands head and shoulders over the other songs on Abbey Road. Nuff said

Definitely Lynne-ized! I've never quite understood how Tom Petty could be so particular about drum sounds that the Stan saga happened the way it did AND also like Jeff's hit-a-frozen-turkey-with-a-baseball-bat snare sound.

I can't believe the number of critics who have said that Gone Troppo is a terrible album. I love it! I'm glad to see the positive comments here. I knew I couldn't be the only one who appreciates this wonderful music.

Every time I hear this song, it reminds me of a time when I was returning home from working in the Middle East and had a layover in London. Well, the next morning was Christmas Eve, and as I was waking up, this song began playing from the hotel's radio alarm. It was such a beautiful slide guitar and song to wake up to.

Fue un alivio dejar de ser un Beatle para George en su momento ,,pero increíblemente en mi opinión fue el que sonó en su vida musical solista como el más Beatles ,,,grande y eterno George Harrison

Make no mistake I love George and this is a really good song but I think the very late seventies early 80s period is marred a but by soft overly produced sounds. I would have preferred a more organic sound to some of these songs and different guitar tones but again I love George and his songs just a hindsight observation

Could someone please clarify who’s song originally is this? Is it George’s or Joe Brown’s?

This song was originally written and released by George Harrison as part of his “Gone Troppo” album. Joe Brown covered it at the George Harrison tribute concert after George’s death. Hope that clears things up.

Yeah, those loud snares by Lynne: a shallow producer. Didnt do a good job on the anthology(harrison didnt like the way Now and Then was going to, too heavy and depressed indeed), he considered Grow Old with Me impossible to work on (whereas Martin made a superb job on it for the Lennon anthology 1year later), he didnt do a good job on paul's flaming pie...such a lucky mediocre
