hey, just a few days ago i rewatched the tutorial for textile fabric shaders in which you say that you will be doing a V-Ray Fur tutorial and since this is already 2 years old, I was wondering when/if it will come...and here it is. telekinesis!
Thank you for the tutorial but i have one question and thats really crusial for all of us ..is there any option to change the shape of the hair from circle shape to square shape
I tried this tool recently and I was also rendering fluffy carpet. The single image was great, however the animation with it was a real problem due to the horrible flickering of this carpet. I've solved this issue with setting Brute Force as a primary GI engine and a Light Cache as a secondary. Still have no idea how to render it with Irradiance Map or Light Cache as primary engines.
If the only thing that is animated is the camera, then you can bake the Irradiance Map and LightCache and you will have 0% chance of GI flickering :-) Unfortunately Chaos plans to abandon IrradianceMap soon, so not sure how long this option still exists :-)
@@maximshukanov3267 if you don't want to go with full BF+LC ( the recommended settings by Chaos) then you have 2 options : 1-To use Irradiance map animation preset to calculate the IR map to desk and use frame interpolation to blend the cached GI to avoid flickering 2-To use VRayMTL and uncheck "Use Irradiance map " under Options to force VRay to use Brute Force calculation for this material only .
I'm not entirely sure how the distanceTex works in Maya, I would assume it works the same but if it doesn't I can not really comment on this, sorry. Check out the Chaos Forums
I pressed the like button before watching the video.
That distance map is awesome! Your videos always never disappoint.
It's funny and creepy how every time I'd be experimenting with a certain aspect of the software you come out with a tutorial on it. Bravo sir.
Was waiting for a new video... Thanks for making this kind of excellent content.
I always get excited when you post a new video! Very useful stuff, thank you!
Thanks Bro It Worked

Quality as always - Patreon next!

super cool 😊
Wunderbar ...
Thank you Jonas
thanks
hi, what cpu u use if i may know? cuz its taking a long time for me to render vray next hair
Threadripper 3990x, but if it takes too long there are many causes possible. Maybe your lighting setup is also not optimized

Nope, not for the VRayFur. You could use other workflows such as scattering oder Enmesh if you require this though...

@@JonasNoell Unfortunately not only camera was animated in the scene, that's also the issue))

@nawrasryhan Oh interesting I didn’t know about the second one
Hey Jonas, can you include your PC specs in the video details
Threadripper 3990x, 64GB, 3060TI
Do same for grass🙂
Transfering this to Maya but couldnt get the VRay Distance Tex to work, once the object is in the distTexset it didnt seem to work.

I use it to make grass also
Also works, but if you have huge areas of grass there are probably better options than fur. In those cases its much better to use geometry scattering

Not entirely sure about Corona, sry
I always get into the dilemma of downloading a carpet or creating one
Can you share the name of the background music?
