Thank you! I have been struggling with Paradise Lost for months now. I finally understand what happened! Showing me where you were with the blue box and words and line numbers proved invaluable to studying. Thank you so very much!
I said a bunch of honest thank-yous on part three (3), but please know this is a great service to us students and teacher who are involved with ESL and literary education!
I dropped out of school 25 years ago. I'm just here cause I started reading again when I was in jail and rehab last year. Well, and also cause there's nothing worth watching on TV anymore 😂
Substance of paradise lost " set of the empty set " " Man is Most powerful homosapiens of OUR planet but no intelligence, although they almost my teacher. " Remember for you all " I don’t never tale a lie except slip of tongues it’s may be 3 or 4 word in a year. "
If you consider what Satan was complaining about, it makes sense he rebelled. To spend eternity praising any being would be hell. God wasn't that great a ruler of heaven if a third of angels rebelled
Thank you for this cause without you, I would have gave up on reading this. I just don't understand what he is trying to say most of the time, cause one second he is talking about Satan, hell, then Egypt, then the other angels who made the revolt with Satan, then he talks about Zeus (I think..?) Gaia, then back to Egypt, then muses, then back to Satan, and so on. I feel like my head is gonna burst. I understand the gist of it, satan made a revoult against god with other angels, and has fallen to hell with them, and is seeking revenge. However, the details are really hard to understand. I dont know if this is hard for me cause English is my second langauge or what, but I feel so dumb lol, I guess this is why spark notes exist. It is a shame cause i feel like this is a great piece of work, but I am having such a hard time with it.
Hana Pretty much all the pagan gods (Dagon, Astarte, Osiris, Isis, Zeus/Jove) are rebel angels who rebelled with Satan against god and became false deities to lead humanity astray. It’s a popular interpretation among Christians of the world, and there guys like Michael Heiser who interpret it like that
Everyone watch the west of Memphis it shows u how they proved there innocent an proved the lies for the state Absolutely shocking beyond belief wot happened to these 3 innocent guys
I read John Milton's article on the confusion over what the fruit be that made eve sin. It was a one time tropical fruit. The apple is the Aryans twist y I smell the Catholic church behind that. The last supper portrait is also Aryan derived. They ate fish or lamb, y not chicken. Bread with yeast is sin so it was a form of matza, unleavened. Jesus was a serfardic Jew with close to black hair y eyes. Dark olive complexion y shirt cut hair. God bless.🇮🇱😇
I call Bullshit, the Devil is IBLIS and he and Lucifer became one and were sent to earth, so it too would know such Blinding light/precious/blessing/divine/the Christ-Iblis.
My problem with Milton is...he is of that Patriarchal age. The world is viewed through a man's eyes, and therefore, far from being universal for me...he is boringly patriarchal.
Make your own then. Or enjoy its patriarchal manner, I don’t know why it seems a problem. It was a man that wrote it, how can you expect what is not of a man to be portrayed so readily in his time? That is IF it is truly patriarchal.
@paul w it’s funny because it doesn’t really matter if it is a patriarchal. I don’t know why anyone should care. I think the weak men are the ones who have a hard time accepting the reality of the world. Write your own.
Some day, sooner than you might realize, you will end up a bitter lonely, helpless old woman; never having loved or knowing what it's like to be loved...and you only have yourself to blame.
Reading along with someone helps me become a more active reader. This audio is extremely relaxing and helpful ! (:

I suspect I might be the one person on Earth reading and studying Milton for the pleasure of it, without any assignment due.
That's exactly what I'm doing & on a Saturday night.

How to understand this... SparkNotes
thank you for the audio but wtf is going on in the story 😭😭😭
Satan is an OP, and God don't play that shit.

His theatrics are distracting for me.
Not exactly clever, the devil, is he? You don't call out The Lord if you're of sound mind.
I call Bullshit, the Devil is IBLIS and he and Lucifer became one and were sent to earth, so it too would know such Blinding light/precious/blessing/divine/the Christ-Iblis.
