I actually did wear a mask. My helper refused to wear a mask I tried he just wouldn’t do it. Thank you for the compliment. I really appreciate that. I hope to be along for a long time if there’s anything in particular that you would like to see, I might have it on my video page and could share it with you. Again, thank you for watching, and the great compliment I love sharing my knowledge.
It would be cool if you could travel all the way to Arizona and fix a roof. Thanks for the making the video and the teachings about how to fix the trailer.
Thank you for doing this video, i have had mice and live by myself and just had a water leak fixed and hace to fix this, didnt even think about where people drill holes for cable wires so thank you very much God Bless you
My underbelly is in horrendous condition. Loving these videos. I'm going to have to replace and animals have been getting cozy in the insulation ( I don't have any type of skirting yet)
I’m working on replacing all thi ins on a Doublewide trailer. It’s been a job. We got mice and rats and like you said. Getting to cozy under there. So I removed all the insulation
I used 3m super 77 to adhere the original material together with new belly fabric that I ordered from a distributer cleaned it did both sides waited and put it together peeled rite apart the next day no adhesion I'm going to try contact cement
@@rhulse8904 I've got a bunch of 6 to 8 inch slits where I replumed the house after the quest pipe failed and I went with pex throughout. I used the stick on tape for underbelly but it never held up. I think the tyvex which I have half a roll will work for my purpose. Thanks for the tip!
I don’t think I am a fan of that to be honest what if you ever have to get to a water pipe or you ever get a rotten piece of plywood on the top I need to remove it might be quite the chore
Hey Drew, I have a concrete pad and a ton of moisture under mine. A lot of companies say to encapsulate with a vapor barrier on the “floor” walls and piers and then run a dehumidifier and have sump pumps with drains. Is this necessary with an underbelly like this? My underbelly is old but not terrible maybe 10 spots it needs repaired but nothing real big. We get sick a lot! And have mold under ours. If we seal up the underbelly do you think it will fix our problem even if the crawl space is bad? Thanks in advance!! I have watched a ton of your videos! Great job! Thanks for the information you give!
Call me. I’m curious why you have water under your house if you have your house on a slab it sounds like your house is in a lake. If that is the case, I don’t care what you put under your house it’s not gonna help.
Repair all the holes that you have to start with how high is your house off the ground there’s a whole bunch of things that would factor in not sure in a text message so maybe a phone call
Also can you tell me about seconds or grade b shingles that resellers buy from the manufacturer. Sometimes stacked on pallet with no packaging, or wrapped in white packaging or ripped or spray painted x across packing on pallet. I see them selling for $13-20 to the public.
Yes sir I believe you could also use that primer and seem glue that we use but that is very expensive. The cans are about $11 each you can repair quite a few holes with one can
Is there any downside besides expense to using a higher R-value insulation like R-38 in the floor? Getting ready to redo all of the insulation in my single-wide and I'm looking forward to your later videos where you build the box for the ductwork.
No there’s no real easy quick and I was disappointed that that happened. I believe what happened is when we sister to the floor Joyce we should’ve used more screws. If you have a screw like that you can put a screw into the floor Joyce if you have carpeting that will cover it that would be awesome if not well you might have to try something else
You said the bottom of the housing market is going to be 2024 in a reply awhile back. Which may be accurate for research. Any idea when or how low...2009 prices?
I’m not using tape I’m using spray adhesive. I spray the underbelly. Then I spray the piece that I’m going to attach to the underbelly. I let it sit for about two or three minutes to get tacky and then I stick it right to the underbelly works out really well watch the whole video you’ll see me spraying
Nice video Drew and Paul. Question for you Drew. On mobile homes with floating roofs, why aren't those roofs screwed down to the roof trusses?. Especially with high wind that get under the roof and makes the roof noisy.
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair Ok, thanks for the response Drew. 👍🏾 Instead of people putting tires or heavy things on the roof to keep it quiet during high winds. They can screw it down to the trusses.
@@Drewsroofingandhomerepair Thanks Drew. I am going to do that to the mobile I'm rebuilding. Just never have seen anyone do that unless a new roof was being put on. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks for the video. Some dummy put up paper-backed insulation paper-side facing the ground and no underbelly - lots of work to be done.. Should I remove/ replace to insulation with no-paper type?
Oh I don’t think to be honest with you that the vapor barrier matters like too much so I wouldn’t remove it at this point I think I would just go with it. Yes he probably did it wrong but I don’t think it will hurt anything. Probably not worth removing and replacing at least but for me I like paperless insulation.
I started to watch to see what the tool would be to replace the old insulation with the new. I didn't watch this video to see and hear you repeat yourself over and over while demonstrating the simplest aspects of the task. Thanks for wasting my time

Any chance you gentlemen would be willing to come to western Illinois to do a complete re-insulation, new duct work, and belly wrap?
No sorry. I have tones of work here

they sell the patch stuff of the belly band tape and rolls of it
Yes, they do

That’s a bummer. Maybe try a different brand of 3M.
Great repair.job Drew
Thank you my friend David
Will tyvek house rap work? Boy I wish I had that much room under my doublewide.
Yes it will work just fine
I’ve seen other videos that say NOT to use tyvek as it is not breathable, maybe ok for a few small repairs but not for anything major.

I don’t get contact ties and I don’t see stars at least it hasn’t happened so far dang it

Paul went spray happy 😂 he need another can tks for the video
He was that for sure. I kept trying to tell him he didn’t need so much. He was just excited 😆

Will it hold up on my RV that I travel around in?
If done properly yes. But I recommend TPO or what ever is there now. TPO is White
Thank you for answering. What is TPO?
Where would I purchase TPO?
ABC supply company. Look it up on google. You will find 1 near you
Tpo is the PDM Rubber Roof in with a white spray coating on it

I would use the screws that have a rubber grommet on them I think they’re called metal to wood screws
did you see that termite tube
No
What kind of insulation should be used under a mobile in southern AZ? Is R-13 good enough?
I would go with our 19
what kind of plastic material are you using?
You can use a trash bag. A tarp roofing felt. Just about anything. It’s easy
Can roofing paper/ black tar paper, be used to patch holes too? With the Loctite?
No
Are there any underbelly’s that are rodent proof?
Unfortunately, no

Some of them have a frame under them it can be done yes I think I’m putting a video on that frame soon
