Ok, so I've been basically completely isolated since 3/21/2020 due to COVID-19. I work fully remote and my husband works in an isolated bunker as a power grid controller for days at a time. Soooo, I'm alone A LOT. Like, losing my internal monologue level alone. Seriously started vocalizing my stream of consciousness at my cats, lol. So, I decided that since my own face is the one I see the most now, I should be a bit more into it. I started watching tutorials and was incredibly intimidated. I felt like I needed so many products and devices to even get started really using makeup properly. Then I found you and I just wanted to say thank you so so sooooo much for your communication style. You are incredibly detailed, but not at all condescending. I am not irritated by your tone or choice of words at any point so I stay engaged and retain your instructions. You go into the true basics of face shape, skin tone and product placement demonstrating what works for you but also what will work for others as well and explaining WHY. I love, love, LOVE that you tell me what products you have already applied before you start. I won't even go into the frustration I have experienced during other videos where I thought I was going to get some base instruction and felt like a complete idiot because I simply could not get even close to their results. Well, now I understand that was because they already had quite a lot going on that I did not. Basically like running a 200 meter dash on the outside lane from a straight line start. Not factoring in that curve means it is impossible to win. OH! and also freaking lighting. I'm intelligent, but I'm and accountant not an artist.
That was a lot of info, but to summarize, thank you. You are great and I truly appreciate you

You’re so well versed.. You don’t need to rely on the habit of “if that makes sense?” after every valid idea. It’s self-deprecating and undermines your worthy points.. It’s okay to own what you know, especially when you’re sharing your own experience. My first year as a nurse, I’d end every statement speaking to patients like that.. “It’s usually easier to eat soup with a spoon, instead of a fork.. If that makes sense?” Or even to my higher ups.. “I needed to piggyback that, so he didn’t his bowels, if that makes sense?”
Sis, it makes sense to you, and you did your diligence, then that’s why we’re all watching. Be your sassy and brassy self

One of the hardest parts of contouring my face evenly is that the left side of my jaw is bigger than the right so ya girl is STRUGGLING

thank you so much for creating videos that actually teach us something about makeup. it reminds me of the beginning of the beauty youtubers... when it wasnt all reviews, sponsored posts and collabs, but actual tutorials. thank you!

Not sure if you're ever going to read this but I am getting a tried next week and I will be doing my own makeup. I have known what I wanted to do for quite some time now and every time I practice I feel like 'i am getting there' but I could use some improvement. I love the way Regina/Picturesque does her makeup and how she is very precise with placement to change her features but she doesn't talk at all in her videos and it's hard to follow along without any explanation. Then UA-cam recommend your blush placement video to me and I have fallen down this rabbit hole of actual helpful education. Thank you so so much, I feel like I am actually understanding now!

So glad to also have not heard "Tap off the excess" every 3 seconds.

I always get confused about my face shape. Sometimes i think is heart shape, and sometimes i is kinda round but with a square vibe on the sides😅. So i do the less contouring cause i think it might look weird if i do to much.

This is, by far, the most helpful contour video I've seen! I have (for me) a very hard face to contour, and I can't relate to other people's faces and videos.
I know this is 1 year old so I get if you don't see this comment. But thank you so much!!!

I used to do this every day. Thing is...make up fades throughout the day unless you think about it constantly and touch it up constantly 😂 so when you don’t have the time for that...well, one minute you got some killer cheekbones and an hour later...you’re an egg again hahah

weird question: if i really like my forehead shape, would it look weird if i just contoured only my cheekbones and jawline and just didn't touch my forehead at all??

    • @bacdvg

I think you could just use it very closely to hairline just to harmonise the colour and shades of your face:)

i would add a touch of bronzer like bacdvg g said close to your hairline, it will just add some dimension and pull it all together without changing your forehead shape

I honestly feel like of all the make up artists I have watched your channel is the best channel on how to do make up because people are so vague in expressing how various looks work but you are able to communicate clearly and thoroughly.
