10:54 one of the ways to tell a kolinsky brush from a fake is how shiny/dull they are under light. If the bristles don’t look dull and they are shiny (like plastic) the hair (or shiny hairs) is fake. You do not tell real or fake by the color alone Light vs. Dark It’s animal hair so ofc the hairs will be different colors even in the same brush due to the region of the animal. Color can be an indicator in a brush when it’s darker towards tip and lighter at the ferrule, also due to the animals hair coloring. Hence real hair. The more solid or same the color can be a fake indicator. But you can’t determine it to be fake or real solely by saying one is fake or fakeish cause it’s lighter than another. Do your research. I have 2 BN brushes and they are kolinsky. Getting wads of acrylic stuck in your brush when using a real kolinsky is bad monomer, bad acrylic or user error.
