I'm so grateful for the help that Romain gave me! I'm excited to give an update on how I've been taking control of my finances & more ownership over my life choices!
It was awesome to have you Emeke ! Looking forward to hearing that update :)

Welcome Onboard mate 👍
Same
Yes. This is what I've been looking for. A financial audit show that's just straight up and no drama. Great stuff!
Welcome 😀
Microsoft giving that amount of stock to a novice software engineer astounds me. He is fortunate he had funds to live off from. I am glad his health and well- being have returned. I wish him much success in his life! Thank you for this interview!
I hope you had the chance to check his video update!
Who else is here because of Caleb’s Hammers video?! 😅
As much as I initially enjoyed Caleb financial audits, not being rude, but it got old fast. Why? Because all he (Caleb) does is find people who don’t really have any real income and people who are not looking to really become responsible for their finances and make change in their behaviors so that gets old fast. This gentleman makes six figures so he has a huge shovel to dig out of his debt. It looks like this channel does a lot more vetting as well which Caleb sucks at😮🤷🏾♀️ sorry not sorry!
Which video is this? I’d love to see it
Yep
Me
@mtb4657 Agree. Caleb's "schtick" is his anger so he needs guests that are hopeless. And he is rude sometimes. It is getting old, especially now that he's having guests that want more Instagram followers and not.money advice.
I like how not only how this guy is reasonable, he’s also understanding!
Will take that, cheers Adrian 👍
I'm blown away by the quality Romain. The light is on point and I love the editing! You will be at 1 million subbies in no time!
Wow ! Gives me a smile reading comments like this :)
Its very easy for people with a high income to be bad with money. That's because the high income hides all of the problems. Its when that income gets cut that you find out if there was ever a budget or a plan.
Income from a job is good, but it doesn't provide the same financial security as income from your own investments. Don't get too comfortable and think your job income can't go away.
Solid points.
I know you get people comparing you to other finance UA-camrs; but I really appreciate your calm, measured, and respectful approaches to your guests. It's really quite refreshing and soothing. It's nice to listen to finance UA-camrs without having too much of a sensationalist approach. You let your guest do the talking, and it speaks volumes to you understanding their situations better and approaching them with empathy. I feel like I'm watching a real conversation with a stranger vs taking their situation as entertainment value.
Thank you.
Thank you ! Guests coming to the show put themselves in a fairly vulnerable position, exposing their story, and we want to provide the right positive environment that will help them take back control of their situation. I appreciate that you are noticing all of this 👍

Thank you Jonathan ! We are on our way 🚀
There are tons of creators that create duplicated content but in their own way. No one’s ideas are original, but their prerogatives are. I love guests that aren’t just 22 trying to figure out their life, but are college-educated and established but trying to do better !
Great interview with intelligent and articulate guest!
Luncheon #1 supporter - your input is always appreciated 👍
Love the closing comment about feeling closure in talking about past financial decisions - when it comes to $, it’s often that emotional aspect that’s most difficult to tackle and heal from.
Almost every financial situation has an exit - it comes down to someone’s actions and their desires to change their story
How Romain says "Fluctuates" @21:35 is *so* very very awesome, and *so* very very French... I love how his pronunciation of American English "Flooooktuates." 😂. I hope he never changes... That aside, I also love how he interviews people in different financial positions. It's very diverse, and that format speaks to a very broad audience. This channel is clearly not simply for entertainment, as some finance channels have become. Romain's style is so buttery smooth, and the videos are so exceptionally edited and formatted that it's hard not to binge watch a bunch of episodes.
Wow! Just woke up and read this message, definitely made me smile! Thank you so much for taking the time to write this and being part of the journey 😁

Great video! I used to help my family by sending money and I was in debt. I had to pause to help my family and focus on myself to get to a better place financially.

Some of Caleb's guests lately are straight up clowns. His show is turning into a farce.

Welcome :) Thank you for the kind comment 😀 we really care about the future of the people coming to the show, in fact we follow up with them often
I love this. A nice refresh from Caleb
I love the calm, informative approach to these audits. I am currently working towards having a 1 month emergency fund. We have no debt aside from our mortgage. Dual income (1 FT and 1 PT income) with 2 small children. Our needs are so high, and trying to get them down is really difficult. Housing for us ends up at nearly 38% of our income. We would never be able to buy in this market again, though, so just trying to get our utilities and other costs down as possible.
Thank you for posting this. Almost sounds like what I said to myself over various budgeting reviews of my disparate situations.
Glad it was helpful!

Welcome Onboard - You mean in the Video Description or? As you roll through the video you see that we integrate those components within our editing :)
Car loan payment plus registration plus insurance plus maintenance plus fuel plus parking could add up to a lot more than $663/month. Plus there are no worries about road rage, theft, vandalism, and finding parking.
In the interest of transparency: when we still drove, we bought good used vehicles for cash and drove them till they cost too much in maintenance and repairs. We've been car-free for five years and use public transportation. It costs less than it cost to own a bought-for-cash car.
Thanks for sharing your experience! I absolutely agree with the buy cash aspect and the strategy to keep until the cost outbalance trade off from keeping it. I also do like public transportation however for cities that are very extended you might need to rely on personal transportation, else you might be losing many precious hours.
I like this channel! It seems to have a more mature take on things.
I’m new here and I love your content. Apparently my cat does too. You put her right to sleep. Super soothing voice.

He is nothing like him lmao they are like complete opposites. After binge watching on Caleb and stumbling on to this channel. I much prefer the episode I just watched. No need to make a situation dramatic to me at least 😂
Fyi, there are income limits for contributing to IRAs you might want to mention. With a standard deduction he might be just under the phase out...but its worth keeping in mind when you recommend
Correct, this was accounted for in the recommendation through a back-door Roth IRA.
He should do those meal plan deliveries, they are around $100/mo. for 6-8 days of meals
Those are generally not the best value for money, BUT definietely better than eating out everyday! Good point

I really like this channel and Romain. Compared to another mainstream financial situation reviewer (who I am not going to name), Romaine's content is alot more practical and relatable. It appears as if Romaine actually wants to put out quality content rather than just fish for clicks, unlike a certain other individual. I have seen some similar content out there by other UA-camrs, but it seems they lack the integrity to respect their viewers intelligence. Though maybe I'm being too harsh on Romain's competitors' fans...who am I to judge someone who loves watching trashy reality tv type garbage. I really hope you keep emphasizing quality over clicks and keep producing content like this Romain. Your growth may not be as fast, but it will be consistent.
Thank you very much for this kind comment, I appreciate that you notice our efforts to really bring a wide variety of real stories with for purpose to actually improve individuals financial situations. Yes it might not have as much drama, but with 92% of people coming to the show who have made improvements in their finances, I am proud of this different approach :)
Gee - he was able to do a lot while being depressed. When I am depressed, I cannot even get out of bed.🛏
I hear you its not easy! You got this 🙂
Unemployment in Nigeria is 75% and your cousin in Nigeria decides to father two children in that situation is not being responsible. And now his cousin in America is sending money to support him and his family, maybe for a specific period of time I would do that and that it. Regardless of any cultural and/or family expectations. Being responsible, sensible, and smart about one's situations
(his cousin in Nigeria) should apply regardless.

Hello brother, I m all in supporting family members who are less fortunate but sending 1000 dollars to Nigeria is a lot of money. What if they are wasting it like you? You dont want that. Make them accountable and make them explain how they are using it. They can build a castle with your money there while you re suffering yourself.
That’s the immigrant mindset my dad stopped doing it took him almost 20 yrs to realize it was a lost cause
i won’t even go to an ATM with a $2 fee. i can’t imagine wasting money on uber eats doordash instacart and the like. and uber/lyft for regular rides unless there was no possibility of driving.
I can’t stand those ATM with fees as well. Yes you pay for convenience but it feels like throwing money to the garbage :(

Why is he taking private loans when his dads a cardiologist and his mom is a nurse practitioner?
Good question for a follow up with Emeke 👍
The real Q is how did he get that place for 1200? 😢😢😢
It is a true mystery for sure!
He probably knows the person or it’s a family friend
Smart young man…there are a couple of UA-cam channels of men who cook… easy, yummy meals.
So true!
Doesn’t this guy make too much money for the ROTH Ira? 2023 MAGI single filers must be under 153,000
You are bringing a valid point, in this current scenario we looked at Emeke's Modified Adjusted Gross Income, which felt below 138K/ year threshold, accordingly did qualify for a full $6,500 contribution to the Roth IRA.
So interesting to me that educated people don’t often understand basic finance.
Having and investment account at RH with 10k balance that on avg yields maybe 8% apy , depending on assets while having a credit card balance of 12k with 18-25% apy is kinda a no brainer to me. Not to mention the private loan.
Pay off the credit card with the investment account then rebuild investment account. IMO…..
Investing in stocks/ crypto definitely should be done but after debts are paid…. As they often out weigh gains. Variables as always…..
Question for Romain, I know you’re against 401k withdrawals for obvious reason, are you against 401k loans for some larger purchases like car or house, as the loan is repayed back to the borrower with interest as well….
P:S made comment prior to listening to very end and his suggestion pointing out investing vs debt %….
Thank you for your comment, I personally recommend not touching 401K under any circumstances except for massive emergency. Why you may ask, given that you pay your own interest? Well you are liable for that debt, and you don’t know what could happen defaulting in your own payments then it can quickly go downhill from there.
i will have this guy audit me over hammer guy . hes more professional
A more mature approach, but both have their time and place.
I agree - two different formats that can very well co-exist. I do like Caleb’s videos too.

Good for him to quit drinking! Thats always good to hear.
New Start! I hope he continues on this great path!
Go to the grocery store and what, buy food that you are not going to cook?
Wouldn’t his earned income phase him out partially if not completely from contributing to a Roth IRA? Would be careful of that one!

HOLD ON! Your dad is a cardiologist and your mom is a Nurse Practitioner and they let you have your take out student loans? Bruv they do not care about you smh.
skin in the game
Right??? I guess they didn’t teach him about money either 😢
Rude. That is not how that works. I had my university paid by my parents and am saving for my own children but know many loving, thoughtful parents who truly believe it’s more important for their children to figure out how to cover those costs themselves as adults, sometimes with quite a safety net of their parents planning financial gifts later in life, like an inheritance. This can be because of the “skin in the game” idea mentioned above or because the parents believe that the best gift they can give is to ensure that they themselves will not need any financial help from their children as they age. Again, it may not be the approach I plan but to tell someone their parents don’t care for them is ridiculous. My husband needed to take student loans, and we had no problem at all taking care of those in our 20s. His education was worth every penny of interest because he made a good educational choice just like this guest did by getting a computer engineering degree at GA Tech.
Hammer vs. Romain. Who stole from who?
The Chicken or the Egg ?
Well someone inspired someone. One was birthed by the other. I like your vibe.
They’re completely different products, honestly
@@hkatsongahow so? Seems like the same format except Hammer is more dramatic and this guy takes a more humanistic approach.
He’s making out with that cheap rent.
All those food delivery really add up because of the tips. I would suggest try to avoid places where you have to tip. That will save you quite a bit. Buy a car but the least expensive that is still good. And I think that 1,000 in expenses sending overseas is way too much. Like you are born here, why are you sending to a cousin in Nigeria, or if you really really want to be the "good person" send but less, but I don't think sending to a cousin is the way to go. Maybe a sibling and even then. I would have loved to hear who else he's sending money to. I feel they're taking advantage of him.
Agree that's a lot of money. I understand if it's to help them get trough college or better thier situation but that's a lot
that's really none of your business
It definitely is none of your business regarding him sending money to his family. Nigerians are raised to help their family, unlike most Americans! Plus he said he’s helping three different family members which comes to $325 per family member per month!
Dude your not a second gen immigrant. Your a first gen American, you didnt immigrate here, you said your parents did....
Too bad yhere wasnt a person like Romain around while I was young plus I was fluent in French back when so would of been fun as not to many speek french anymore. From what I learned like many in my age group is there a lot of so called advisers or managers was theu were trying to sell you something so ghey coukd profit on it, and two the focus on one thing back to selling you something. Romain is excelent. He deserves all the likes and subscribers he can get, hes probably saving lives. If you kmow how so many honest hard working peoples lives were ruined because of scamers. It like saying here take my money to lose it. The third, get rich quick scams plus get out of depts just pay them adding to your debt when you see you can do yourself. To be careful who you listen to. He gives you the fishing pole nit sell you a fish no pun to fisherman literally but taking comtrol , a goal and incoragement.

Most seem to find success reviewing his content than attempting to emulate it. He has a certain panaché and right off the bat i can tell you don't have that same spark.
Mac (Apple) and Windows (Microsoft) are both great computer systems, each with their own structure, branding, style and more. Linking back to your Caleb’s commentary I am glad that you are marking those differences 👍
People have been making financial breakdowns long before Caleb.
@@mangomadnnesss and its clear where his "inspiration" came from. Don't play coy.
Youll never be the next caleb
Thank you I am not trying too 😉
@@itsRomainFaure Ignore these people, Romain. Some people can't keep from being mean-spirited

We are growing fast ;) thanks for the kind comment 👍

There’s more than 1 Caleb?
There’s more than 1 Romain? 😉

“I talk too much, but don’t do crap” vibes 🤮
Wow you're so original.🙄 When and how did you come up with the idea for a "FINANCIAL AUDIT" youtube channel?? This exact format seems so familiar for some reason.. 🤔
