Never too late. I had nothing saved at 30. Now net worth 1.8 million. Enough saved to send my 15 year old and 4 yr old to college. Retiring in 11 years. Keep after it.
I started the financial journey at age 43 first by getting rid of all of my liabilities ( debt). At 45 in 2020, I started investing by watching Our Rich Journey. Now myself, wife and kids have joined the journey🎊🫱🏾🫲🏼
@@OurRichJourney FANTASTIC REPLY! I've seen it happen to so many people, totally unexpected situations happen and plans get derailed, at all ages. Keep inspiring everyone and take care of that beautiful family of yours. Have a blessed day!

Loved this video! As someone who just turned 30 with no kids, I have been intentional over the last 4 years and you all have been a great inspiration for me. Thank you for your transparency and always being willing to be thorough in explaining things.
Man i love you guys so much! So inspirational... You guys are really an amazing family. Your transparency just made me realize I'm doing soooo much better than i thought
Such a great video, I sure have family living soley off of SS and cannot keep up with all the inflation increases. Especially with increased housing costs, food, and even utilities bills. Let’s all keep working hard!
Thank you! I’m 43, my husband wants me to retire now. Just found this site a month or so ago, so I didn’t factor in the 0% if I stop working so early. I am a vet, so I’ll be getting my VA & reserve retirement, real estate rents + I’ll be hitting RMD from my 401k. Working on my ROTH now. This info is just good to know…
This is soooo timely. I just pulled this SS doc the other day. I am astonished by how much I will get after ALLLLL those years of working. Thank you for planting a seed via YT & (ORJ FIRE Courses) Amon&Christina. #compoundinterest 💝💝💝💝
Thank you Amon and Christina. Many blessing to you and your family. I have been following/on this journey with you both since 2020 . Thank you for the push bc a sister needed it. My goal is to leave the country also, one day soon. 🙏🏽🤗💫
I want to say Thank you. I started thinking about fire after listening to you and I believe I am on track. Preparing myself for fire in the next couple of years by diversifying the stock market and real estate. Thank you for your guidance through regular videos.
Thank you for always giving us the enlightenment. Your story is very inspirational and knowledgeable comforting knowing that financial independence and being able to retire early is possible. Your the evidence. This is far from circle park. 💯🙏🏿👍🏾
This video is AWESOME!!! Thanks Amon for your transparency and sharing with us your social security report. It's right there in black and white. Proof again that folks can achieve FI and go on to achieve FIRE, making under 100k. Thank you for the encouragement as always. I will keep pushing. Thanks again for all you and Christina do for us. 😇✨️😁 🔥.
Great video! Looks like we FIREd the same year 😊 Very timely video! My partner and I were looking at that website this week and wondering what to do with our very small payments when they start coming in…please share when you decide what to do with yours. Love your work! ❤
I hope that you and your wife are wildly successful in your dreams and aspirations, and that your children become the strong, self-determining, and wise people you hope they become. Blessings from America.
Hi Amon!! So grateful you are sharing your journey and wealth of knowledge in such a genuine and thoughtful way. You mentioned a video in it's self about if the pension/super funds will exist in the future and VERY curious about your thoughts on that topic. Wishing you a wonderful day!
Hi there! I would love to know your thoughts on annuities and other possible wealth preservation vehicles. I'm older, but still working, investing and hoping to retire early, but I'm concerned about wealth protection and long-term care. Single, no kids.
You guys are setting an example for ordinary people who don’t have a rich parent or a high paid job and yet still can’t achieve the financial independence and retire comfortably
Honestly, you are a business owner who works for yourself now. You were able to give yourself the freedom to leave your jobs to free yourself from those confines. Your family is a great inspiration. I miss your videos when you both first started and shared the growth every month. Also, glad you are going over this because we are looking at that and found that that rule that you have to have worked within 5 years of claiming it without your amount changing for the worse. Many F.I.R.E enthusiast don't mention that. That made us think about what age we would start to withdraw from our SS and figured with the time we are going to F.I.R.E we would take ours at 62 yrs old. Then, we found we can only get income from 401K, Roth, Dividends, Interest, or annuity. That meant we couldn't sell off stocks without it being considered income and Social Security would be reduced until we are 67 years old if we decided to sell our stocks. We were so happy we were getting income from our dividend stocks and ETFs.
Nice summary for a young one! You sound like you have a pretty good handle on this. Not sure if I heard you right, but the amount shown on your statement are in current dollars, (with the adjustment for future earnings)Wages are adjusted by the average wage index(AWI). Staring at age 62 it is adjusted by COLA. Another fun fact is that Social Security payments are ‘progressive’, there are two “bend points”. The first portion of wages gets the most replaced, the second less, and the last not very much. We retired in our early 60’s, Social Security for the both of us will approach $7000/month when I claim at 70. So actually quite a bit of money. For people in your generation, count on some cuts!
Thanks for sharing and being transparent. I hope everyone checks those projections for social security I'm 42 and if I retire at (62) I'm looking at $1,870 (67)$2,784 (70)$3460 One think I have learn is that just by working I won't be able to grow wealth. So my approach was to invest in real state 4 years ago. I can say that was the best decision I could of made. Now that was my approach, what will yours be?
Hello, thank you for the great vids you post me and my wife live in England and will be starting our retirement soon on the Silver Coast and wondered if you new of any great rental agents to help us ? Many thanks Steve
Thanks for the insight video and how the social security calculates the retirement. Question, can you tells us in what department of the government you used to work for?
Thank you for the video, can you guys talk about your pension plan in a future video. I’m a calpers pension member it will be helpful. Thank you in advance
The thought of retirement makes me cry. My apologies to everyone who have retired and filing social security during this time after putting in all those years of work just to lose everything to a problem you weren't to blame for.it's especially difficult for people who are retired.
Funny how life works, your first earning was in 1995 that's the year I was born, then you retired in 2019, that's the year I came to America 😂 So far I have contributed 24/40 work credit just in 5 years period. Reaching financial freedom and retiring early is my goal. Been investing 10% of my salary in the S&P 500 into a 401k account, Investing another 10% in a Roth IRA account which comprise of SCHD, VYMI, and FXAIX Fidelity 500 and another 5 % in an emergency Fund. Finally another 10% Tithe for God's kingdom cuz I'm a Christian and I believe in the principles of sowing and reaping🙏 Y'all Chanel has been an inspiration to many of us. Thanks for the great work you guys do🙏

Great video, very informative, thank you for amazing video! I am glad to hear we can get social security abroad. We are planning on moving to Europe next year from the US. Are there any US banks you recommend to have when you live abroad? Right now we have ally bank.
Hi Amon, thank you so much for everything that you and Christina share on this channel. I've been following your journey since right before you retired and have been very inspired. I hope you get a chance to answer my question and maybe it'll even inspire a video. "How much of your $2.5m portfolio was outside retirement accounts like a 401k or IRA? I ask because right now, I am only investing in retirement accounts trying to max them out but I'm afraid that if I get to 40 and want to retire, I won't be able to access any of that money without penalties. Please advise" Thank you again
Can you talk about the safety of using banks in other countries. Are deposits insured like in the USA? Do you keep money mostly in US banks or Portugal?
Thank you for such transparency. It's rare to have people share actual numbers, let alone over a whole career. It's inspiring to learn that you don't need an inheritance nor become Jeff Bezos to build wealth and live a rich life. Thank you so much for the inspiration!
What was the main investment into the stock market in a brokerage account? I don’t see how you could have managed to build up a 401k or ira to that amount that quickly
Real inflation rate around 12% so your 22 million is simply the 2.5 million equivalent after inflation. Stocks are the new bonds. Wealth preservation. Not growth.
Amon can you do a video regarding whether you should take SS at 62 or delay it to 70? Also since 6pm may have 22 mil what are you thinking about the tax impact?
Thank you so much for sharing. Super insightful. Did you and Christina qualify for US Government pension? If so do you have any videos on how that will tie into your retirement strategy? Or how will a government pension impact social security?
Relatively new to the channel. Great stuff. How is one house covering your monthly cost of living for the entire family assuming you also rent in Portugal. Does the difference in rent cover 4 people ?
I have a question in regards to receiving your social security check, do you think is better to get the check at 62 (least amount) even if you still don’t need the money and reinvest the money every month, or wait to get the money (more money) as long as possible?
Just because you retire early does not mean you stop paying into the SS system. If you are living off investments, that is income that you will pay taxes on. I'm assuming this as I am not retired. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks for the video. Question if u are prior military but u got medical disability and discharge and didn't go back to work how much u can be able to get? Since u didn't go back to work
Hi Amon! Thank you so much for the valuable content! My husband and I have built wealth through our investments and are now exploring options to preserve it (not paying $$$$ in taxes). Could you please post a video on the "rich man Roth"? I'd like to know more about this topic and if it is worth pursuing to minimize taxes in retirement. Congratulations to you and Christina for your achievements! May God bless you all.
Wow, thank you for this video! Question, do you think early retiring with 2.5 million in the stock market would have been enough without your real estate passive income? I'm hardcore saving 60-70% my income and it's all stock market and I have zero time to research other asset classes because I work multiple jobs. The monte carlo calculator says I'll have enough, but you got me thinking, maybe I need to do more?
