I love how no matter what you’re doing with the pups, they always have beds and blankets!
Heck Yea 😊❤😊
Watching Arielle running in the rain with that huge smile coming in from the garden and Eric laughing so hard he almost choked on is Pike Taco was almost as amazing as you both catching all those fish. I love the days when the fish are biten.
Where did you see it? in this video?
@@bigworld4089 I'm sure if you watch the video you will see. It's such a good one.

You've never used Fishermen's Slang?
Absolute human moment at the end. Laughing and enjoying each other. Great guys.
Have you even laughs 😅
Yep..good food, = good times :)
Uk watching here :)
Best moment ever!
Howdy ya'll, love your videos. We moved to Alaska back in '70. What an adventure! I was 12 years old along with my five siblings and mom and dad. Drove up the Alcan towing a travel trailer and camped about a mile from Charlie Lake B.C. My two older brothers and I hiked down to the lake following a crisscrossing game trail. The Northern pike were biting like crazy. We kept the largest one at about 35 inches! We got lost on the way back for hours and hours.
The RCMP was even looking for us. We ate the fish the next morning for breakfast. By far the best fish I ever ate. My favorite. I stayed in Alaska for 22 years. Some siblings are there still as is our step mom. (Hi Mary, Susan, Jennifer and all) Pretty sure they follow you two as well. Your videos sure make me homesick. All my old stomping grounds. Thank you for sharing.
P.S. We pickled, smoked, and/or canned almost everything we harvested. Pickled halibut was one of my favorites.
Your dogs snoozing in the boat ... absolutely made my heart melt!!!
Greg Miller you should see a doctor ASAP
with all the BS. going on it sure is comforting to see videos of a couple just enjoying life & each other
I love the parts where your personalities come though lol you guys are hilarious and I'd be lucky to find someone in my lifetime that has what you guys have. You're both wonderful, thank you for bringing us along for your journey!
Spot on.
Haven't found him yet, But I'm still looking:)
We found each other 1969.
Still loving 🥰 Deeply.
Gotta learn to forgive and get over. Never ever stop remembering that first look.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
"This one's for the books!"
"What's that mean?"
LOL. Looks like a great taco!
The record books lol
This is the life I want to live! How lucky you both found the perfect partner as I think your journey definitely requires two!
Every time I watch you all eat, I get hungry. My creativity in food preparation has gone by the wayside so anything anyone fixes excites my taste buds...thanks!
The look on your faces after the first bite of the Taco was awesome. You guys just looked at each other chewing and nodding 'yes, yes'
I thought it was great when Eric was talking about how there was no bones in it while wiping the two bones that was in his mouth on the cutting board. Lol
I love the channel and really look forward to the new episodes. You guys do a great job.
I was thinking the same thing, hilarious!!😅🤣
She takes a bite, pauses,
" YUP "
Y'all could a ended there.
Great vid.
Ml
Eric gets so passionate about the food I just 😊 it. Ariel loves it her food as well but is more “cool “ and factual. Thanks you two!
Life is better when dogs adopt you.🐶😁
Love to watching your fishing video's. Life jackets for you and dogs would add another level of safety. Enjoy
The last couple of months, whenever I get a chance, I’ve been making my way through your “videos in order” playlist and wow I have enjoyed and learned so much from you guys! These tacos look amazing, I love pickled pike! I’ve got 28 more videos and then I’ll be caught up to your “real time” videos. But honestly there’s so much to learn from each video I might go back and watch the “videos in order” playlist all over again! Way better than any T.V. show or Netflix series.
That was funny. Hey that one is the one I caught fish with....I know I took it. Still chuckling.
I know I'm late to the party but ... that was my favorite part too! Ariel is hilarious. Love your vibe. 😊
You guys are really amazing . Don't separate from each other. You are an inspiration as a loving couple. Thank you for your life changing videos . God bless you....💕💕💕💕
You all are living the dream. I love that you take your dogs with you as much as you can. Arielle is so sweet she doesn't want to hit the fish too hard!
Just what I needed. I lost my Grandma a few weeks back and now my Granddad has passed away.
I can always count on you guys for a laugh.
EDIT: Have you guys always had the boat? My memory is terrible. 😁
I’m sorry for your loss! ❤️

@@gracieshepardtothemax1743 Thank you.
Eric should take flying lessons . They could buy a small plane and fly all over the big state of Alaska. They could name the plane “ The Beast” . Love their videos .
the same thought had crossed my mind as well. I see how much you both seem to like the small planes. Something to think about!
Love you, love your creativity, love the joy you bring to many of us, love how you enjoy each other while eating your precious food and the respect you have for each other and nature. God bless you my dear children. Love to have the names of your pups - BO and? Thank you 🙏
After all the hard work filling in the root cellar, it's nice to see some enjoyable and productive fishing! I think the dogs enjoyed it more too. 😉
I just love the way you 2 interact. So much fun and the real you always comes through. Thank you for all the wonderful experiences you bring me along too. 😊
I'm from Philippines and we don't even have Winter and I find myself watching all your videos lol
Pasyal ka sa alaska
Your pups look like they are living their life 💚💙💜
The great part of pickling fish is you get more fish and less/no bones. And with delicious pike/zander that’s worthwhile! Great ending!
On Canada fish camp excursions, the people fishing for walleye gave the Northern to me. After filleting, I’d grind them in the meat grinder, stir Shake n Bake for fish into the meat. Formed them into patties and fried them up. Served on buns with homemade tartar sauce.....no bones to contend with and the kids loved them. (So did our fishing friends who were surprised they were eating pike. 🍁🍁 Happy memories! Thanks for the fishing videos.
The fish looks like the fish from an old movie “the incredible Mr. Limpit”. It from 1964 and the smile on the fish is incredible. 😂
You have some of the most fun videos on UA-cam
LOVE it that you take your dogs with you! Nice channel guys, I have learned TONS from you (my favorite so far: spicy pickled eggs! yummy!)
I'm so glad you did a taste test for us. It's frustrating when you make something that looks so amazing and then you don't tell us how delicious it is! (that was the best ending!)
Eric’s laugh at the end was so hilarious! Well done, guys!
Love your UA-cam sessions. The way you work together and all your living Sustainability. I’ve learn a lot from both of you and still learning. Thank you
If anyone hasn't had Pike, it is super good. Really, it's very good.
Loved watching Eric crack up at the end. Love seeing y'all laugh with each other. Good stuff !
Dude, she’s brutal when it comes to knocking those fish out 😂
reason we enjoy this so much is because this is part of our nature ,it resonates with our souls and reminds us of the freedom we all use to possess.
We eat pickled heering all the time. I don't remember ever seeing other types of pickled fish in the stores. I love the pickled heering with currysause. We eat it on ryebread with fresh onions on top. Very good. This is in Denmark by the way. 😊
Pickled herring is very Nordic/Scandinavian. Basically the only way we eat herring here in Iceland 🇮🇸 ❤️🇩🇰
Pickled herring with boiled potatoes and sour cream with chives is great. Super traditional here in Sweden.
Must be in our DNA man, I live in the states and whenever I mention I like that stuff I get wierd looks....lol
Hi kids,
Do you ever stop to think about how lucky you are to have a life that you live GOD BLESS Mr. Ed
Scandinavian - Minnesotan here, glad you like the pickled pike! We sometimes make it as a pickled herring substitute. I grew up with it and will eat pickled herring all day long 😋
I love that you gave Arielle the first taste of the pickled fish. This channel pushes all my buttons.
Something magic! that's how I'd describe the whole experiencie of going fishing in that stunning enviroment (planes included) 😍 and the preparation of that fish...my mouth was watering by the time you had your salad ready and started assembling those tacos 💚
It’s so satisfying just watching you two enjoying the result of your hard work. So inspiring !
Really amazing recipe to cook fish with organic spices.Keep cooking, canning and smiling.
Pike used to be very popular during the medieval period, it's the ultimate sight predator with those big eyes, I think they liked that ferocity. They used to use natural contrasting furs as a lure on horsehair lines and pull them in by hand. Must have been super skilled fisherpeople!
Pike are so fun to catch! They’re house cats that fight like lions!!
Can’t say I’ve ever been fishing and enjoyed watching a float plane takeoff.🤔
Pickling seems to be all the rage this year. Yeah, I'm gathering together ingredients to do a little bit of it myself too. You two do a great job of having fun working together. Don't ever lose that quality.
Dear Eric and Arielle,
Another great episode from you guys. I am amazed at how much you guys have learned about off-grid living.
Arielle is the catch of the day 😉
Great video 👍 Pickled pike are always good. Another really good pickled fish is sucker, more firm than pike even, and very tasty.👌 Thanks again for taking us along👏
Hi from Sout Africa. Considering that none of that is store bought you guys make the most amazing meals. Everytime I watch one of these videos I want to eat. You guys are killing my diet😂😂
"One for the books" indeed!
I can see y'all buying a small aircraft one day! So exciting watching your videos...clean too...for my grandkids to watch. Thanks guys! Xxxooo a Grandmother in north Texas
Loved how "a mix between fergie and jesus" turned into "cheesy". 😂 I was laughing with y'all
This one was for the books.. the end had me weak 😂😂😂😂😂
1. We love your videos. 2. Try growing calamondin citrus in a pot or in the ground in your greenhouse. It's extremely adaptable to weather, but produces year round when protected. Blooms when it's dry and puts on fruit when watered. Just protect it from freezes. It's extremely versatile for food, tea, and jelly. Reply if you need seed. We'll send you some.
Please keep the wonderful videos coming. Y'all are living our dream life.
I really love the fact that ERIC carries...and not afraid to show here....LOVE IT!!!
Sunteti o familie adevărată de gospodării vă doresc numai bine. Succes
Such fun to watch your catch and cook! Fun in catching and just as much fun watching you cook absolutely amazing meals!
Pickled fish is a great treat! I grew up eating a lot of pickled herring, readily available in stores here in the Chicagoland area. Anyone with a heritage from the Baltic areas likes this, and the cultures around there like to eat it. I have (mom's side) Polish and Russian heritage, so it's eaten especially on New Year's eve, as a treat. Pickled pike, I haven't tried but your recipe looked delicious! I do like Pike, but it's hard to find around here, except in some fish houses, which are not in abundance anymore. There is a place not too far from me, called Hagen's Fish Market, and they have a smokehouse to boot. You can bring your catch in and they can smoke it for you, if that is what you want. A lot of folks go up to Wisconsin to go fishing, so that is what they do when they bring back "a catch" unless they have a cabin there and access to a smokehouse in the area. Here's the website: www.hagensfishmarket.com/
Eat Well! Enjoy the Summer. I'd almost wish you'd put up a storm video like "what's an Alaskan storm like?" Maybe there isn't any difference, but maybe there is.
We just had a Derecho move by us in the Midwest, we had 7 tornadoes in the City! (that almost NEVER happens). There were winds in Iowa that came through that flattened cornfields. Lots of losses. Sorry for the farmers, lost a lot of corn.
Whenever I take a bite of food and I throw my arms up like that .... It's goood
Bandit is so cute,I just started to watch your blog because of the two dogs,I love them
you guys are awesome you have got to be the healthiest youtubers out there
Yup....nuff said. The look on your face really said it all.....good food❤
As a kid I used to gobble up pickled herring like there was no tomorrow. My dad said the look on my face was priceless when I found out it was RAW... unfortunately for him it only slowed me down for a few days. 🐟🐟🐟
Your pups are living their best pupper life and it is so awesome to see.
I love your videos, I would watch your simple pleasures anytime. Bless you , so decently honest emotions, thank you for the joy.
