let's be real Rudy Sarzo is a living legend, and he is a good guy on many levels by all accounts. And it's great what he is doing with the Quiet Riot legacy.
Randy Rhoads should go down as one ofthe greatest to ever pick up the guitar, an incredible songwriter and live player. His isolated tracks that people are releasing of guitar only, you hear the brilliance and little things he was doing. I saw a conversation the other day on the crazy train solo, not really on how great it is but how many guitars are on the solo.......imagine having that conversation because of how great he was and the sound he got.

You are so spot on. To me Randy is a legend and should be recognized for his awesome talent, I mean WOW, His playing is mesmerizing. Taken way to soon. Can you imagine where he would have been musically today, he made it look so effortless. I love Randy and it makes me really sad that he was taken at such a young age. So much talent. WOW WOW WOW❤Randy was magical💫✨⚡️💫✨⚡️

@@Shannonrenees Randy is greater than EVH was in the short time he was with Quiet Riot and Ozzy, and had he lived, would have shown the world that. Randy triple layered all his rhythm guitar tracks for Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman, including solos to thicken up the sound and were panned left and right. Max Norman was the producer. There are some really cool interviews with Max about the recording and the way Randy recorded and multi layered his tracks. I have Guitar World Magazine interviews, but I am fairly certain you can find them online and have come across some cool stuff on UA-cam about the recording process, particularly for Diary of A madman, where a farmhouse in UK was hired, and Randy played in a room and the amps were mic'd up in a weird place in the attic or downstairs, I'll have to read them again. Long live RR

I love the fact that Randy and Rudy didn’t mess with drugs . I think I heard in an interview that Randy didn’t drink either. Such humble guys.
Randy Rhoads started out in Quite Riot. I have a VHS Tape of him in the band. 🎸🔥🎸🔥

Rudy is a cool guy, I met him on the Quiet riot Metal health reunion tour. I said- I'm glad you're back in the band. He gave the Rudy grin. He's a solid bass player, he's been around forever, he's played with tons of bands. He always gives a great interview. I have his book Off the rails. What a great book! His interviews, talking about Randy are absolutely great. He is one of the favorites.....

At 1:24:30 Rudy makes a great point that so many people my age miss. With UA-cam and things like it available now , anyone can reconnect with the stuff they loved in the 80s or 70s or whichever era you relate to. I admit I use the internet mainly to see and hear things from my formative years that I otherwise would never see again if I depended upon TV or radio . It's all out there to be enjoyed again. They were called records because they are recorded, for eternity, and now you can actually find the stuff. Go back and find what makes you feel good. I live in a bubble, cut off from modern trends , fake news , idiotic social media crap. And I couldn't be happier.

I have the best Rudy Sarzo story…
He was playing with white snake Chicago. Vivian Campbell snuck out back jump in a crap Honda car with a very beautiful Asian girl.
Rudy walks by and I wanna autograph he said I’ll be back in a minute before he makes it onto a bus a girl with heavy downs syndrome Runs up and hand him a rose. He spent all the time she wanted with him.
The girl walks away. Rudy gets on the bus, dumps out the vase with a dead flower puts the new rose . And that changed how I thought about everything. Rudy became the coolest guy on the planet to me and I was 18 years old. I’m glad I saw this guy share that love or I would’ve never repeated it.

When I was at the Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp in 2010 in Philly at one of the jam sessions Rudy was in charge of the jam and saw me playing full bar chords on guitar and came over to me a suggested that I learn to cut the chords down to Power Chords. Also 2 mornings Rudy sat behind my wife and me in the cafe and we talked a great deal with him. Rudy is a great person.

Wow that was quite visceral for me the whole 80's thing Rudy mentioned after sharing those heavy memories that came to pass for me was the like the perfect segway to bringing everything into focus in an incredibly profound way...I mean not only can I relate to the story in my own way but Rudy has been part of my life profoundly thru the music and this experience is like hearing it all again for the first time but with a meaning that I dont have the capacity to describe in words...Inspired and motivated come to mind but more than anything I am really excited about where the music goes from here and hopefully catch one of the shows maybe get a chance to say thanks...

This brought tears to my eyes 👀. My bf and me played quiet riot during the eighty's and the original quiet riot band. We lived in Boston north closer to New Hampshire ,so it flipping cold out in November . And we be driving the city in a 1968 442 Oldsmobile convertible. Top down 25°maybe 29° blaring quiet riot drinking bud bombers throwing the can at an asshole behind us. He did something but yeah my friend and me both on Halloween masks on like full head masks we looked crazy i fuckin loved it!! My friend died but I always had fun at a quiet riot concert 😂

Im old enough to remember when there was no Q.R. or Ozzy solo career or Mtv or internet for that matter. Back in the early 80's these guys had a tremendous influence on music and basically invented the scene. Q.R. opened the door and proved that metal/hard rock would sell. Now by the late 80's and early 90's the record companies and drugs had destroyed the scene, but when it started it was pure as any grudge scene ever was. I picked ip guitar in about 1988 or 1989 and wanted to take it back to the roots of hard rock and all of the "grudge bands wanted the same" they may not admit it now but we wanted to be like the early hard rock bands, and not like the cookie cutter bands of the late 80's. G&R successful brought down the false metal bands but drugs and the fact that they started believing there own hype(Axle) ruined it. Van Halen was a pioneering hard rock band but now is lumped into the whole hair band thing, which is sad. Hopefully music will change and metal / hard rock will take its rightful place at the top. But live Q.R. was great sounded like the album without backing tracks. I miss the hot summer night tours that came every year. Every few weeks a big touring band would come to town.

Like your comment. I was introduced to Rudy while he was working with Whitesnake. Awesome guy. Just wanted to throw that in. 😂 but I also feel radio stations changing their format also contributed to rock music taking a dive. People didn't stop loving rock, hard rock and metal. Just other stuff was being played and MTV was right there switching up too. Thank God Slaughter got in before the switch.
