  • WE HAVE A PROBLEM!
I created this problem, due to poor choice of materials. We finally got the 350cc Velocette Hagon running and as soon as I rode the bike I knew I had a major issue. Nothing to do with the engine or gearbox but the way I fitted all these components to the Hagon frame.
I have always been concerned about the off set engine plates and my worst fears have come true . flex in the engine and gearbox plates have made this bike unreadable. back to the drawing board.
This has been a very disappointing last couple of days but I have learned allot and will not give up on this build. I am more determined than ever to repair my mistakes and move forward on the Velocette.
keep watching in the future, we will Repair and ride this bike asap.
Feel free to comment on any of my videos, any feedback would be much appreciated. Dont forget to Like and Subscribe

There are hiccups whenever prototyping is done. Chris you know where the problem is and it can be improved. Bloody glad that the engine and gearbox are ok.😀😀

Appreciate your honest feedback, as I know, when your building something that is slightly out of the box, things don't always go to plan. Take your time, and enjoy the build, and the end result.

Good you found out this soon! I had a similar problem when I put a Venom engine in a Manx frame, the problem is, as you have deduced, the material, I made the new plates from 5/16" Duralium, which is much stronger and the problem was solved, the swinging arm plates would be better in steel, there is a lot of torque there, this is one of the joys of building a very special bike. Good luck! Chris B.

@@thehagonfactory Well I would not call this a failure, more of a development hiccup. Chris B.
