You do the best reviews...good detail, not too technical!! ♡♡

Hey everyone! Thanks for watching! Just wanted to let you guys know how to get the new version of Android Auto if you are still seeing the old version.
1) The first thing you need to do is update the app to the latest version.
2) Next, head into the settings and toggle on the first option labeled "Try the new Android Auto"
***It may crash (mine did) but after a couple attempts, it was good to go
If you don't see the option, then you may need to wait a while longer for the automatic update which will roll out to everyone in the coming weeks.
@@raybetzen1831 I did some reading and Google says that some people may have to wait longer for the update to be available since they are using a staged rollout
can i have the Hyundai carplay and androidplay app please
Best video on subject I've seen! Thank you!
Glad to hear that! Thanks for watching!
So it started reading the news when you tapped directly on the calender app?
Thank you so much! Very detailed!
Thank you for the tutorial. Great job. Very informative.
Awesome job Drew!!! I love Android and Apple CarPlay, I have a iPhone tho! Lol!
Seriously!!? I hated android auto so I bought an iPhone and now I want android auto again!
Daniel Hernandez oh well I’ll just wait for my iPhone 7 Plus to go out of date and then I will buy a note 12 lol
@@mistardoyle3042 you'll get more money if you sell your phone lol. Plus were on the s20 now lol
@@mistardoyle3042 You’d be dumb to do that. Obviously Car Play updated right after this came out and it’s much better than Android Auto again. Google waited four years to update Android Auto. Car Play will get like three before Google does one.
Thanks--how do you set the AA maps to satellite?
I'm considering a switch to Android for my next phone. Good job Drew. :D
But there is carplay on iPhone and carplay is faster
Great job, helped a lot. Thanks
is possible to use spotify and car navigator (not from android auto) at same time?
I cant wait to update my sync 2 to the sync 3!
This was great. Very helpful.
The best Android presentation seen so far, just subscribed. Thanks
Awesome! Thank you!
By the way, during the presentation I saw the Waze icon, does it work on the car display ?
@@nabilhireche9118 Yes it does work just like Google Maps
@@CarConfections Thank you for the fast answer and .... the great video.
New to Android Auto. Does it need a separate phone line or does it use all info from phone? I.e. someone borrows my car will they have all these features?
This was great. I learned a few things. I notice there is no messaging app. I'm guessing I just have to use Google Assistant and say new message to too do that.
Nicely done.
Just started using it. My spotify is real buggy with AA. The maps look great but I can not use it for uber and lyft driving :-(
I here ya , I drive for Uber as well, I thought the Uber app would come up :(
Is there any issue moving from on persons phone to another? or is it basically a phone extension with no memory of the "old" phone?
Great job, thank you.
Thanks for the video, great information. I just bought an aftermarket JVC head with Android Auto compatibility, however when using google maps and navigating, when the screen goes off the navigation stops tracking. Open the screen and it catches up and tracks again. Still working this one out. Using a Note 10+. Thanks.
Hmmm I've never heard of that happening... hopefully it's just a temporary bug that Google will work out in the near term
Hello I I'm using Android Auto with my new Mazda CX-5 I have noticed some issues when using music playing apps that are supposed to be compatible with this app. One app in particular is jetaudio. What is happening is, when I click on folders to view all of the song folders I have on my SD drive, often it will only show about half the folders if even that. I have folders that go from a to z but what is happening I can only see up to the last few folders in the b section. If I click in the folder section to select the folders alphabetically, or rather to search for them by letter, all of the folders show up and if I put it on shuffle it'll choose from songs on albums that don't show up in the folders but for some reason although obviously they are there and accessible, they don't show up when I use the folders option which is the main way I choose my music. Another issue is sometimes I can select a folder none of the song show up, it's just empty. do you have any insight on what might be causing this problem or how I could fix it? I've tried several music playing apps such as double twist and MediaMonkey, and they all have the same issue through Android auto. At first I thought it was the music apps but then I realized that the menus that each app is relying on are actually based in the Android auto app itself. is there another music program that works better that you might recommend or do you have a way to fix the problem I'm experiencing?
Thank you for your time
What about searching locations manually on Google Maps? Mine does not work. When I click on a 'search' it does not bring up a keyboard
Good video 👍
I'd love to get Android Auto because my car has it but Google Playstore doesn't offer it in my country (Belgium), so is there a way around it enabling me to download and install it on my cell phone?
Hey this was a good video. Quick question though; is this a resistive or capacitive touch screen? I ask because at 4:06 you tapped calendar and she brought up and she instead launched the news app which was right next to the calendar app. Awesome and informative video .I enjoyed it 😀
That was just a bad edit cut 😂 sorry to confuse you about that
I hate my uconnect console in my 2016 jeep. Can I remove uconnect OS and install android or apple auto?
Wow ..Car Interiors are superb ..Which car is that ?
How did you change the"Exit" logo?
Helpful video and very well done. Thanks for the "OK Google"........
Thanks!
I just got this today as an after market addition on my MX-5. I don’t understand why I can’t use the touch screen. The Mazda rep put in an IPhone and was able to use the touchscreen. But, on Android Auto all I can use is the car navigation scroller. Can anyone help on this one? I’d appreciate the help. Thanks.
Can you enter an address into the phone while connected to Android Auto? Sometimes it's simpler copying an address from an messaging app.
I just purchased an Alpine head unit about 3 weeks ago. I could have sworn that when I got it up until just a couple of days ago that whenever I received an incoming call that the radio speaker played a generic ring tone (whether) going through bluetooth or by usb cable. Now when I get an incoming call, I now have my phone ringtone (back in black) ringing and the generic ringtone coming through the speakers. I feel that I have toggled some sort of setting, but I do not know what it is. I thought that whenever you connect to a bluetooth unit that it overrides the phone and the phone will not ring or light up. Can you please help me. I have a Samsung Galaxy s10e and my radio head unit is an Alpine ilx-w650.
Nice clean review. Thanks. It's exactly what I wanted to know.
Love the refresh! But why does Pandora suck sooooo bad when playing though AA?
Glitches, crashes, and is a huge pain when in fringe cell reception areas.
It's using the internet to play songs so if your cell service gets bad it will stutter and stop.
Does the vehicle need to have some sort of wifi on it to use it?
If so can you use your phone as a hotspot?
it needs to connect with a usb cable and Bluetooth, I had to keep unplugging my phone then plug it back in, because it kept losing connection and that is with a new car in 2020.
I wish I had it. Toyota had refused to support Android Auto until 2019. They are now slowly rolling out to current models. Unfortunately they are not offering an update to older model cars that have Toyota's outdated Entunes 2.0 which isn't compatible.
Fairly NEW Owner of 2019 Fiesta SE w Sync III 3.0....I noticed on line that there is now a V.3.4x......but after I registered my car at the Ford Site and seek out the
Sync III Update, it tells me yes, I can download, but the V. I can dnld is the same that I have, V. 3.0. Is the V. 3.4x NOT applicable to the Fiesta SE? TKS
I'm having issues with mine. I always use the AA with the cable that comes with the phone but it keep disconnecting after a while of use. I have to take off the cable and connect it again to be able to get it to work; within a few minutes, it will disconnect and keep saying reconnecting. Please help 🙏!
I have a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee and whenever i try to send a text I get an error message that says something like "I am sorry, but the internet connection is not support right now" - what does this mean?
Do you know how to Spotify, Pandora on the launcher doesn't show on mine
So i cant input a new destination i've never been to before, or listen to music i've never listened to before, because for whatever reason they've neglected the search features in both maps and spotify/GPM... I have to search from my history in both apps, or listen to a "radio" station
Does the assistant fulfil this role? Can I ask the assistant to take me to a new destinatin / play a specific artist/track etc. ??? Otherwise, I'll still be picking up my phone all the time, rendering the whole thing redundant. The whole reason - as far as I can see - of Android Auto is to keep your focus off of your phone and onto the car, and If I have to keep going back to the phone (like the settings menu also) then the system is redundant and basically useless (except displaying maps, but then what was wrong with manufacturer GPS systems?)
I
Thanks for the in depth review, one of the best reviews I've seen on android auto, I'm new to android auto, so this is helpful. Does the phone screen need to stay on all the time while it's connected?
Glad you liked it! And no, once you connect, you can just turn the screen off
Thank you Drew👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😃😃😃😃😃😃
Can you use another apps for navi?
I want this unit on my Subaru Outback 2017. Do you know if I might run into any incompatibility? Thanks.
Should work, I believe
I don't know if I'm the only one with this issue or not but I have Android Auto in my car and for some reason if I have navigation going (whether Google maps or Waze) my music app will NOT play.
Waiting for a new car with android auto, haven't used it before. Can someone convince me this is a good system when it needs my phone's battery, It needs good phone signal, what if i'm in countryside without good signal, it consumes my phone data? So main advantages are frequent app updates and better traffic time estimates?
They need too fix that large notifications bar or make it smaller
What's the latest version of Andrioid Auto right now? 4.6.593324-release?
im glad you still have the good old camry lol
Thats a hyundai...
Very cool update .. andoid 👊
I got this update this morning and it asked me to unplug my phone then plug it back in, I did and it was updated and worked smoothly, but when I used Android Auto again later that evening nothing showed up after I plugged my phone into my car. I repeated the process in unplugging and plugging it back in but nothing. How do I get it vack to working with my car so I can enjoy using Android Auto and use the new update with ease?
I have a Galaxy S10 Plus with a 2016 Chevy Spark if that helps
It's hard to say but it's likely due to the new update being a little buggy (I've had a few issues over the last couple weeks). Also, verify in the MyLink settings that AA is still turned on
Hi can i hear music same time when i navigate?
I bought a used 2016 Chevrolet Colorado and I do not have AA whatsoever. I read that Chevrolet said they will be releasing a AA update and to take your vehicle to a local Chevrolet dealer and they will do update the software at no charge. This was back in 2015 of March or around so. Today I went to a dealer and was told that it wasn't free anymore since I do not have bumper to bumper warranty anymore. They were charging me $135 to update. Do you know by any chance if this is true? Is there anyway I could update for free?
Can you listen to FM radio while navigating
Very nicely presented, thank you. I have an issue with my android auto, Kia Sportage 2017 and Note 10+. This issue is that as soon as I connect my phone the audio output shuts down, screen display is fine though. Can you help me out please?
This is the second comment we have gotten about weird Note 10 issues. Its not the same issue but this might be something weird going on with Note 10s
Does some have any advice?
I have a Galaxy S10 and the new version cannot work on it it's still showing older version even do I updated help please
Check the comment I made below about how to enable the update even if it's not happening automatically
Howdy, awesome video as always! Honestly, I prefer CarPlay.😸😸😸
We are going to compare them soon!
Android is better
Great clip. My AA has been working fine for a year or so. I updated my AA. now my voice command doesn't work. Please help. very frustrating.
I hear they have another update coming out soon to fix that bug
EXCELLENT!
Nice video to watch if you are new to this application as I am. Thanks.
Glad we could help!
Quick Question: At the 4:05 mark, you pressed "Calendar" and then the News played. Is that correct? I would think that if you pressed Calendar it would read whatever events you have that day.
Hi there. That was actually a cut in the edit right there because I pressed the wrong button and removed that part of the video. Sorry for any confusion!
Hi nice video, please tell me if you know how create Google Assistent shortcuts, that showing in apk. or it is just automatic random create from Google?
Those were just automatically there, didn't have to do anything
Tnx
Can this be used in bluetooth mode with android or just plugged in once set up?
You can use regular Bluetooth functionality just fine but to use Android Auto you will have to be plugged in
So, a newbie question: Do my phone and car automatically update to the new Android Auto?
U dont do nothing in your car u just have to update the software on your phone
How can u change the apps that it displays? And how do u Send a new voice text?
Every app you have on your phone that has an Android Auto version will automatically display on the home screen. I have not found any way to deleted them. To send a text, just say "okay Google. Send text to X, "blah blah""
Great video. Can anyone recommend a decent head unit for under $300 to use Android auto with my pixel 3a
Try Atoto SA102 or Boss bvcp9685a
it use to work on my truck screen like yours, but now I can't get it to work. Do you know how I can get it to work again? I tried uninstalling it and installing it again, but doesn't work.
I recently had this problem. I think the only way I found arrive it is unlocking my phone screen and then I can use the car screen
Wow cuz this is excellent work! Congrats and keep it up.
Thanks, Matt! Glad you liked it!
What about accessing Sirius Radio? It was a real pain in the ass navigating between the two in the previous version.
Apparently still the same!!! Just got my new sterro with android auto. Read on line google does not have agreement with sirius, so cannot access sirius with voice command. Have to nav threw unit.
Hown come my android auto disconnects after driving for a few miles even when power save is off
I had the same problem with My Huawei Phone. I tried to use the original usb cable from Huawei, and then i had disable usb-debugging on my Phone.
- after these steps it work without any problems.
Try search on Google after usb debugging and your Phone model. It would just take 2 minuts to find the answer 👍🏻
Has anyone lost a few apps? Like the calender and Reuters
My phone did the update and the only thing I can't stand is the overview look when using the maps than the better first person view. I prefer the first person view to better see what turn I'm getting to than a view 500 miles in the sky. I already sent a feedback to Google about that....they should at least give the option to overview and first person. Everyone should go on and send that feedback... if I'm wrong and there is a way to change the maps view then please leave a reply
i use the new android auto with android 9 on my phone via usb port. it works, but not the voice command on the steering wheel nor on the microphone button on the touchscreen in the car nor when i use "ok/hey google". when i press on of these buttons the "voice command symbol" appears, pulse when i am talking, but nothing happens. it works fine, if I use the the voice command on my phone. does anyone face the same issue and knows how to solve it? it is really annoying this way. thank you in advance.
does it update manually? or do it from within the app on the car?
Just update the app on your phone 👍
update runs like shit for me, it's so slow. When I say the words "play my new text messages", the response is "okay, asking Spotify to play songs by The New Text Messages"...
You live in Lexington, South Carolina? If so, that's funny, I'm from Brazil but my sister lives there. Great video.
Thanks! We're in Lexington Kentucky but it's pretty close to SC!
@@CarConfections I notice. Great anyway, hahaha
Why did you get news when you clicked on calendar?
If I use Android auto will I still be able to listen to SiriusXM radio ?
Yes
Where can i get the new android auto update it's not in the play store
Check the comment we made below about how you can enable it inside the app
Hi dear, please help with something: if you use waze with Spotify altogether and your phone rings, when you hang up the call, the music and waze screen comes back automatically or you have to restart this functions? Other: if somebody sends you a audio message via WhatsApp or similar, can you listen throw the android play? Thankssss
For the first question, yes it will resume automatically. I do not know the answer to the second question. Thanks 👍
Still seems a bit laggy, especially the voice commands take little bit too long for my feeling. If this really is a "great new android auto redesign" we will see after these questions.
As touch is never an option for driving without being distracted the most important questions are:
1) Can the full android auto experience reached via pressing physical buttons in the car?
2) If you have an appointment, that consits of an address, within your google calendar, can you directly navigate from your calendar to that address in google maps?
3) Can you use the full android auto experience without that cable (aka wireless?)
Congrats on having Waze.
I want to add a radar app,can I do this?
The only thing I hate is I can't use my own music player that's on the phone it only has Google music none of my music is on that I hate it
Can you access your playlists and Library in Google play music and UA-cam music
Yes
Depends on what's important to you. I realize that the younger you are, the more you don't care about metadata - all you want to do is stream, but for those of us who are audiophiles and have spent money for database applications which we've meticulously populated with information, both CarPlay and AA are nothing but toys. I've got a 10.25" display screen and all I get in AA is Artist and Song Title? MediaMonkey's main interface lets me see Album, Album Artist, Track Number/Tracks, and permits 'soft' fast-forward and rewind - NONE of which are available in this app. All the "new" music app gives me is a ton of black screen with postage-stamp sized album art.
Do you know why my note 10 UA-cam does not play sound on my 2019 gmc Acadia, but it works on other cars?
I have the recent update installed...now Amazon music won’t play now...it did...is there a fix please? Thanks...😎update...
I had to reload the music again and it worked.....I opened up the app amazon music and it said to download again....
We will see...😎
Unfortunately all of us experiencing bugs just have to wait for Google to fix them :-(
How do I get entune off and Android Audio on?
Scanner Radio? My 2018 Elantra do not have that app choice?
You have to download it on your phone first
I don't like the new update maybe I'm missing something? At first I liked it but there is no shortcut to the phone tab. So it becomes tedious is there a way to add shortcuts to the bottom bar thing (kinda like the dedicated buttons in old version?) only thing that shows there is the Google maps or Spotify
As of right now, the only thing that can be in that bottom bar is audio and navigation
@@CarConfections thanks! I hope they change it really miss having dedicated shortcuts but overall good update
When you clicked on calendar it started the news app ?
That was just an odd edit. That won't actually start happening haha
@4:05 You pressed calendar and it started playing the news.
Haha that was a cut we tried to disguise...was wondering if anyone very observant would notice. You are the first!
🤣🤣
I just have the auto-connect of bluetooth enabled and my phone slaps into an MPOW holder on the windscreen. Instant Android Auto --- Google Drive, Spotify, weather, texts, all voice-powered. I'm not seeing the big deal of the massive screen ..... I mean you're supposed to be watching the road aren't you?
Zoom into the screen more with 2nd cam
What about text message icon??
My radio doesn't have android auto app on it.....only apple. Why?
