What do you do if Siri won't talk over CarPlay at all? I can tell she's speaking, but I can't hear her. Map guidance is fine; I can hear her then. I've looked at every setting, but can't find anything. Any suggestions?
Hi. Siri and voice guidance are controlled with different volumes. You should be able to correct this issue by triggering Siri and then turning up your cars volume up really fast while she's still speaking. It has to be done while she's speaking. Hope this helps!
Best Car Play video I have seen and only one that showed Spotify integration in IOS 13 that I have seen. I am switching tomorrow from Android to IOS and was concerned that Spotify wouldn't work well. You showed that all my features are there so no need to switch to Apple Music. I have one question. Even though home screen only has Apple Maps displayed I was wondering if I am using Google maps would the Apple Maps show the current location on home screen or no location since not in that app??
I'm using the iOS 13 beta on my iPhone XR. I think the biggest upgrade is in Carplay. The interface is great, and the new features are fantastic. My music is in Amazon Prime Music, and that now shows up in Carplay. The map upgrade is really nice and it actually makes Apple Maps usable. Overall, Apple make a great upgrade in Carplay.

Sadly, I have the base 4.2 inch display on my Escape Se so I don’t have CarPlay though when I was in Rhode Island on vacation, the Kia Forte Hertz gave me had CarPlay and I used the navigation feature a lot to get where I needed to go!😸😻😸

Thanks we had head on collision and air bags and belts worked, got new car and wanted Gps Mac on it but it has apple play and they brought it out and tried it and watched some vids on it and sure we will be fine with it, trying to finish watching this vid and when paused take long time to reload and twice it started over st beginning, not sure if bid, or internet or my phone
Glad to hear I’m not the only person having lots of (Amazon) music app lock-ups in Apple CarPlay. Now if they would also fix the loudness-my mapping apps get insanely loud vs all other audio. I managed to make waze not scream at me, but each seems to be its own demon

The FORD Sync system has most of the same features except the navigation system is integrated in to my HUD (heads-up display) showing turns, distance to next turn, etc. On the other hand, CarPlay enables use of text. Now if only Apple could collaborate with car manufacturers to provide one step further in their integration of these systems.
I'm really excited about Carplay as I have an Iphone with IOS 13, but the thought had occurred to me if I am in a hurry and don't connect the two is the screen just a radio? Thanks

I have. 17 Audi A3, and the beta ios13 will not work in my car. I don’t know if it’s an Audi software issue, or if it’s Apple? But the screen just loads to black. It still connects for audio though.
Is it true that we can no longer get google maps to show up on the dash screen? Haven’t been able to get it to work. I’m getting used to Apple Maps but would still rather have the choice to use waze or g maps
You just need to download the iOS 13 update. It's not released fully yet for regular iPhone users -- I am using the beta version. If you want the beta version search iOS Beta and you should be able to sign up to get it
It’s a shame you can’t have Google Maps on the new home screen instead of Apple maps. Apple needs to give up on Apple maps already, every time I’ve used it I’ve missed at least one turn.
Does anyone else think that the replacement for the home button icon is the laziest user interface design from Apple ever? I’m sure Apple even holds a copyright on the home button icon from classic iOS. But now we get a choice of a hamburger menu or a giant set of teeth. When this designer dies and goes to meet Steve Jobs at the infinite loop in heaven boy is he’s going to get chewed out.
I believe only Nissan and Subaru cars still equipped with CD player, even in 2019. Some LX models on Honda cars also have CD player, like Honda Fit, HR-V. Pilot and Odyssey have Blue-Ray player which also plays CD/DVD. You still have the options to get both Apple CarPlay and CD player.
ios 13 sucks in everything they put out iPhone iPad apple tv they did not make anything better only worse and it really pisses me off and 13 is my number and they ruined it with this crap its not user friendly nor does it look any better !!!

Ward Walker While the app is talking, change the volume to where you want it. Just recently learned that myself.

can i listen to the radio while using carplay? like maps?
If you have a Homekit Garage Opener you will see a door opener button appear on your CarPlay screen when you are near home.
Can you edit what appears on car screen when you push icon on lower left (sq and three horiz lines)

It should still default back to a Bluetooth connect with your phone so you can still have your music

Google maps/Waze cannot be on the HOME SCREEN. However, you can still use it by clicking on the actual app within the app section

How do I get the New iOS 13 Apple CarPlay?
You just need to download the iOS 13 update. It's not released fully yet for regular iPhone users -- I am using the beta version. If you want the beta version search iOS Beta and you should be able to sign up to get it
You can get the iOS 13 beta right now or wait for the official release coming in September

All cars that comes with Apple CarPlay must have wireless CarPlay. Because it's very practical rather than plug in the phone.

It has to do with your iPhone. So long as your current car supports CarPlay, then it will also support this new version of CarPlay when you get iOS 13
