Hey guys! Thanks for watching, and if I may make a correction -- NVIDIA's new GPU architecture is called Blackwell, not Broadwell, as quite a few have pointed out in the comments.
Glad you like the balloon animals! 😄
Those balloons would make some awesome BB gun or airsoft gun targets. You'll be able to easily tell if you hit it.
Why do you glorify drinking alcohol? Alcoholism is not cool and ruins many families.
But hey I guess you wanna buy into what companies be selling ya. Don’t be a sheep.
I went from 3080 to 4090, but unless a 5090 offers 50% 4k gaming improvement I don't see a use for one... but I will change my mind instantly upon playing a bad round of any fps
@@BMfins Alcoholism might be a problem yes, but this guy just had a nice refreshing beer. Also not sure if Paul's channel is supposed to be a family-friendly channel with his humor and sarcasm.
@@didamnesia3575 That's what happens when you do a gen to gen upgrade, I'm stuck on 2080 Ti that I got when it came out, and upgrading to 5090, gotta love that big improvement that's awaiting me. Also, rumors are saying that it's gonna be a 60-70% improvement over 4090
Not sorry for your wallet big spender
"What do these items have in common?"
Me: They'll be expensive as shit.
Me: Gamer Meld has a confirmed release date
That was my 1st thought. But my 2nd was bring on the new extremely expensive stuff so the older stuff will drop in price and give a comparable price/performance.
@@ejtaylor73 The new 5070 on 16 G is faster as the RTX4090 now
Need the better Quadro mem ?
Battlemage is gonna be affordable
24 gigs of DDR7. They already charge whatever they want...
Am I the only one that wants Paul to close out all tech news videos with some balloon animals?
same!
No, No, did I say NOOOoo. That noise, with headphones, I feel it in my jaw.
@@backupplan6058 I can imagine, but i only wear headphones when gaming not at any other time so my vote is YES
@@Tithulta1 headphones aren’t the problem, they just make it worse. Balloons squeaking is an ungodly sound.
I was just thinking the same thing
@12:32 Who knew Paul was a man of Many Talents!!
He doesn't know the TDP range of the 7000 series of Ryzen, but who cares as long as he can make balloon animals ...
@@Peter.H.A.Petersen
Way to make it about you, since the vast majority of people would just move on from such a trivial complaint. I must've missed where you memorize literally hundreds of products worth of specs and are expected to recall them verbatim in any passing conversation. And spare us the "google is a thing" reply, as I just now hope he's able to make a pacifier big enough to get you to stop thumb-sucking.
@@Peter.H.A.Petersen Oh noooo! he couldn't tell you something you can easily google yourself... But at least you enjoyed the balloons :)
@@RAW_Reality Sorry if I upset you guys, but the 170 watt TDP of Ryzen 7000 series was something new and a big jump, so I noticed it and have not forgotten. My Bad!?.
So the idea of an entire episode with a comprehensive tutorial on how to make balloon shapes somehow never occurred? 😉🤷♂️ No ideas for April 1st indeed!
He could even rename the channel "Paul's Latexware". Actually... maybe not...
The problem with EVGA was that they told the customer to keep the cables, since they weren't going to send any with the replacement PSU... It was a big fu**up but apparently it was resolved properly according to the client. I'm not sure if it was because of the "social pressure", but in any case, they fixed it.
People will not have to worry too much longer with EVGA they are going the way of BFG back in the day. They also shut down their GPU division and not too long after they were totally gone.
@@csjpokey Yes, I think EVGA is going to close down earlier rather than later...
Yeah EVGA is dead. Corsair is the new EVGA. Also MSI also makes decent PSUs and their warranty is good.
I need that AIO screen to be curved so I can enjoy the maximum immersion watching the temperature numbers change.
kek
They should really work on creating a universal standard for PSU cables to avoid potential fire hazards. Sucks that EVGA's reputation had to take a hit because of that one PR black eye.
I have thought about this ever since finding out they weren't all the same. If I was a dumb person, I would have fried my whole system a few years ago when I upgraded my PSU for a new GPU I got. Luckily, I'm not, and did research to make sure if it was possible or not. Lol 🤣
They should just follow the ATX standard that is on the motherboard or GPU. Just mirror it.
@@RANDOMNATION907 Nope, demand 12 Volt only !
This one is really on EVGA. They should have just moved to a different model number instead of reusing the same one. Would have prevented the cable mix-up and it would have prevented any issues in the future
7:16 Broadwell GPU Paul? Woops.
moik
just say old, why you care ?
TOOOO OLD !!!!
understand it now ?
Heh oops 🫢
It's all so boring I forgive his brain being in power save mode
Paul, you prove that you're the man once again. Balloon animals must be a first among the tech creators. Thumbs all the way up from me!
Well you did it now Sunday morning beer man.
We now expect a different balloon animal at the end of every video. 🤣
Dude the balloons were awesome
I demand a full video of balloon sculpting in the near future!
The "balloon" trick at the end, was definitely a plot twist.
That hand action on the pump while staring into the camera. 🤣
Love your intros, Joe and Paul!
I don't see any Paul's Hardware logoed balloons on the store!
Gap in the market there.
With the EVGA PSU, they tell you not send to send your cables in, as they don’t ship new cables.
Yeah I would tell them yeah I want new cables along with New PSU if found that the PSU is indeed defective.
Loving the good stuff Paul and Joe. Keep it up
That AMOLED AIO is an interesting idea. It's supposed to be useful for displaying animations or images like those 4D ones on top of buildings where the advertisement character "pop's out" of the display.
Balloon guy too - is there nothing Paul CAN'T do...... Paul for Pres.
Not only does Paul and team have the BEST tech news on the net, they sometimes even throw in little freebies like balloon animals!
5 Stars!
Nolan
you Girls like the Balloons, why separate posts all ? NEW HERE ONLINE ?
one balloons post is more than enough, why you all cry that ?
@@lucasrem Dude, quit the drugs....
@@lucasremHey genius it's for the algorithm . I myself was looking for a different way to say the exact same thing.
Here's a thought, put down the sugar cereal and go play fortnight or some roblox or something.
We like Pauls content and WE want to see more.
Animal balloons with tech news? Bonus!
Grat show as always, but loved the ballon folding AND the link to Asetek 😅
Happy Easter Paul 🐣 Wow you own on the ballon making skills, what other hidden talents do you have?
Not gunna oversell my reaction, but getting Paul Lore in the form of balloon animals was actually so unexpected I had to rewatch to make sure it wasn’t a trick! So cool and I believe we now need to create a “lore” wiki for Paul with this as an entry
So nice when words are not micid when times are lean and the pickings are meagre.
Thank you Paul for your concise Tech News.
at 7:18 - Very excited to see what nVidia is doing with Broadwell! That was a a great CPU I loved that Macbook Pro.
Liking this video for the balloon shaping alone.
Can you have the gre just be in OC? Or should you only do that from time to time?
I love EVGA power supplys and personally I do know about only using the cables that came with that specific power supply.
However I too might have thought the unit I'd be getting back would be an exact match if I left the cables in, although with my OCD I'd have probably sent the cables back too.
highlanderknight
What EVGA PSU you like, can you demand 12 volt only ?
old GPU too?
@@lucasrem The EVGA SuperNova 1000 P2 and the GPU is an RTX 4090.
@hi EVGA is dead. Go for Corsair for Simlair RMA support like EVGA or MSI for decent PSUs.
It's always a pleasure to watch your videos!
The sheer dedication, motivation and ofcourse the face Paul makes when he does the baloon things...hilarious. Its his John Wick face
7:12 Broadwell 🤫
3:25 - "smaller number better" - I understood that reference!
I'm looking forward to Battlemage. I picked up an A750 LE just to support Intel's GPU division; the card is still sitting in the box. (It'll get used eventually; probably for video transcoding.) I plan on buying the equivalent Battlemage (B750?) for much the same reason.
The squeaky sound of the balloons are so gooood... 😊..we need moore
EVGA tells you to keep the PSU cables when you RMA your PSU. If they are sending a different unit as replacement, they need to notify you of that and let the user know to use the cables that come with the replacement unit
Downtown Brown! I was stationed in Eureka, ca for about 9 years. Great taste in beer, although I do like 8-ball the best.
😂 you crack me up man. Happy 🐰
Im all in for opening bit
How did this one get thru quality assurance
Love me some Downtown Brown! Great beer choice!
Awesome job.. cheers.
Well done Paul. Very entertaining
*round of applause for the balloon art* Great job again Paul and Joe. I hope the balloon man makes it quietly into some other videos, perhaps and extra life, or another civ 6 stream.
11:27 - Awesome skill! (even if you say it's a bit rusty). More balloons in future videos, please!
For April 1st you should review the cutting edge Dell optiplex 3rd gen intel desktop. See how many fps it can get in solitaire, minesweeper, and that old skiing game with the Yeti,
I love 'Pauls Spec News' at this time of year.
we need curve radiators if those dont exist yet. with accompanying curved fans...with lcd displays on each fan blade.
Hey Paul if I want most performance per dollar for a gaming pc what parts should I get please help? Thanks for your help if you choose to.
Thanks Paul!
Computex can't get here fast enough
Thanks Joe & Paul for the Easter-bunny-less video! 🙂
This is the only hw tech news channel I subscribed to, I just love the humour.
I'm very excited for a 4070 competitor from Intel. Hope it's more affordable with 16gb of Ram. I do wish EVGA would get back into the GPU manufacturing. Always been a huge EVGA GPU buyer. Ok that was out of nowhere, very nice work with the ballon Paul.
Darkslide2AR-FE
What RTX 4070 you own, why you need ARC ?
More balloons you need? lol, play games ?
@@lucasrem RTX 2060, looking for upgrade but havent pulled the trigger yet.
@@Darkslide2AR-FE Just replace it all ? Or keep it all. Cheap RTX 5060, no bottleneck issues on old systems. ;)
@@lucasrem Why are you selling GPUs for NVidia? They pay you or are you brainwashed?
@@lucasrem ah yes recommending a gpu that does not exist, good work 👍
Dude, +1 for the balloon skills
pretty handy with that air pump
Hi Paul. The mismatched cable problem is easy to solve. Whenever I purchase a new PSU, I label each cable to show what PSU it comes with. Simple is as simple does.
outlet
Never mix cables ! Keep the PSU box, all cables in the Box it came in !
Are you able to to less cables, 12Volt only !
One me and my wife’s favorite April fools videos is still Paul’s makeup tutorial routine from a few years ago 😂😂
Have a great week everyone!
If you already have a G-Sync monitor, do you think it would be worth paying the extra $50ish for the 4070 Super over the 7900 GRE?
I for one, cannot wait for the 5090, rumor has it nvidia decided the naming convention is also the retail price, or was that the upc...
Thank you Paul.
More info on the AMD apu's please
Great job Paul now go spend time with your family today! Happy Easter tech homies 🐣🤘💻
Is it their performance to last two generations being used? or price point being comedic?
The steam deck was shown on an April 1st
And here I thought the "more complex" balloon was just going to be a snake 😂
i also tried balloon twisting for a side gig. going to parks at this time of year with a twist for tips badge and $5 in the pocket. i would get upwards if $200 for a $20 bag of 100 balloons. i almost brought balloons to the cabin. we could of had a twist-off..
What an epic intro!
I feel like the economics of most new motherboards arent far off from that AIO with a screen.
Genuinely impressed with your ballooning skills 🥳👍
I thought you were speaking metaphorically??? Like balooning/growing skills 😂
Honestly april first has become the day out of the year i just dont go online. I find what a lot of people and corps do obnoxious rather than "hah that's funny".
It's baffling to me that EVGA would change their pin out but not change the connector keying (ie: the layout of square/cut corners and missing/blocked pins) That would have revealed the error instantly.
Nice work with the balloon animals :)
Paul, I work for a tech distributor youve mentioned in the past. Q1 is over and I didn't meet quota. Tech is rough.
Balloon skilz for sure, although I was expecting you to make an NV 5090.
I want Paul to put out a beer list each week so I can be enjoying the same beer he is while watching the latest Tech News.
I'd love to see EVGA team up with AMD and do X3D lines of GPUs.
I do wonder if the 2CU Zen 5 will be RDNA 2 again or if they will use RDNA 3.
I would suspect they will be monolithic when using more than 2 CUs.
Great job! 😃
Love the balloon skills Paul. And thanks for keeping it real.
the end with balloons... hilarious :)
The most impressive thing in the video is Paul shaking out the last drops of beer without even looking at it. Real pro-drinker move.
BMG: BattleMage Gpu or Browning Machine Gun?
11:20 You say to use the ones that shipped EVGA DEMANNEDS you NOT send cable because they are not replacing them so if i take my old cables out for my psu rma like dude rma his PSU. how do i then power my computer without the power cables that they REFUSED to send because they Explicitly State not to send cable and that if you do and they get mis-placed or anything owell your fault, they are not replacing the cables
I only spent $60 for my evga 240 clc (if you don't count the noctua chromax fans that I swapped in). RIP evga 😢 but 5.5+ghz all-core is oh so sweet.
Evga will not return any cables sent in with a modular power supply. Js says so on there website.
I used to be witty like you ......
But then I took an Asus to the knee.....
Old but gold 😂
nice Paul, u made me laugh and informed me at the same time!
Balloon Kung fu is a must in a tech reporters CV profile😂
Would one of the cheap power supply testers (the $20 thingies on Amazon) reveal improper ps cable pin outs?
Paul having balloon animal skills was not on my 2024 Bingo Card, but that's on me. Never underestimate a techie and father to suddenly produce a skill you never knew they had.
Broadway not Blackwell
Came for the witty banter and tight editing, stayed for the balloon animals. Paul & crew always satisfy, regardless of the news :)
i would change the title to something related to Pauls Tech News and just not one topi. I look forward to your tech news
Is that a Newcastle brown ale? If it is, then good stuff.
It's Downtown Brown from Lost Coast, one of my favorites
@paulshardware Never had the pleasure of trying it.
Newcastle Brown Ale is this: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newcastle_Brown_Ale
And it is well worth trying, if you have not already done do.
Also, may I take a moment to thank you, Paul, for all the great content that you make. Thank you!
legendary editing my ears were in fear of being assaulted by that balloon shenanigans
True question would be, which models Nvidia prepared with 2GB chips and can their low end wait for 3GB chips. Basically 384bit and 256bit busses mean 24GB and 16GB of ram, both of which can launch early. But 192bit bus depends on pricing of the card that if 12GB is enough, and 128bit bus that definitely needs to wait for 3GB chips unless its complete bargain bin.
Nvidia could have been prepared for the delay by their mid-range would have extra memory channel compared to previous generation, but reduction for the amount of cache per memory channel, which would be offset by having more memory channels. Thus if they had made that preparation they would not have to wait for the 3GB chips. On the other hand the drop in replacement for laptops is worth enough that it would be more probable that low end will just wait for the 3GB chips.
I was gonna upgrade my GPU and ram but do i need to upgrade anything else like my CPU?
MB: Gigabyte A320M-S2H-CF
GPU: Radeon RX 570
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
Dodge Ram: 16GB
i was gonna upgrade my GPU to a 30 or 40 series and Ram to 32GB
#PaulsHardware - Mr. Paul, if you have a moment: - Should I buy an Nvidia RTX 4070 Super while I can? Or should I wait for a better graphics card in two to three years? - Just based on this question; no other details, I'd appreciate your opinion, if you have a second. - And THANK YOU for the wonderful vids. -
