I watch a lot of “wood hound” videos, like In The Woodyard with Chris, Ohio Wood Burner with Joe, Willy’s firewood, and Allen Family Firewood with Phil & Karen among others but am truly fascinated with the clever usage of your outdoor wood boiler to double as a firewood kiln. You are a pretty smart cookie to come up with such a clever idea. You are making sure all your customers are getting dry wood, safe to burn and selling a product you can stand behind. I look forward to more videos and Happy New Year to you from Washington state. 😅
Thank you, I appreciate that. I do try to always think outside the box and utilize what I have. And I usually do to its max. Happy new year to you as well.
Hi Matt Nice Video ! I posted a comment about an hour after you posted your video ! I thought my comments were nice . BUT im thinking U Tube thought they were inappropriate and canceled it ! LOL See if they leave this one up !😊 My guess on totes would be one thousand and one !!! LOL You have a Good Day !
Yeah weird. Usually I get to see the inappropriate comments because UA-cam will hold them and I get to see them and decide if it’s okay or not. I don’t see it. Weird. And good guess.
@Treestofirewood Hi Matt, I hope your day went GOOD ! When I posted the first comment I looked at it on the comments and it was there ! The I checked your comment section to see what others were saying and it was gone ! Lol We in Saskatoon Saskatchewan area are near the end of 3 days and nights of COLD Nights minus 32 Celsius with wind chills of about minus 40 Monday should be nice winter temperatures !😊
Nice looking resplits 👍 We used to have infrared lights in our lumber kilns to help inhibit mold growth (plus it added heat). I don't know if it would help in your situation or if it's a big enough problem to justify the added cost. Stacked and stickered lumber allowed the IR to hit all the surfaces unlike stacked splits I would suppose 🤷
Yeah I’ve seen those. For what it’s worth I haven’t had any other issues with the production wood at all. That’s the first time. And honestly I thought that would happen with that wood. I just need to get the moisture out at a more consistent rate when I have more wood in there. Always learning when I keep changing things up.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with stacking into totes. I normally do it,…but my tractor has been down since I got my new Axis. Also, it’s the first time that I’ve gotten my hands on some oak, and I needed to get it split while the weather is still not too bad. So, I’ve been splitting into my dump trailer and then sorting into three different totes. Kinda figured I’d stack it later before I start selling it.
Yeah to each their own that’s for sure. Trust me I hate stacking. But to keep quality up I feel sometimes it’s a must. And boy has the weather gotten cold.
@ 😂 I hear ya on that. I think I’m gonna try sorting as I split, when I get my tractor back,…especially when splitting oak. Then at least I’ll only have two premium grades to sort and stack when my trailer fills. Then at least that part of the process will be quicker than it is.
At some point I will run out of totes. And to be honest that will more than likely be in the next few weeks. So I will be getting more soon. Also I do sell wood throughout the year and I obviously keep track of it all so I will include that as well. As of right now I need a whole lot more totes.

My guess is not enough! Never enough👍👍
That would be the correct answer. Haha

Day went okay. Had a few hiccups. Was 5 degrees Fahrenheit this morning. Super cold.
Keep the video's coming Matt.
I’m seriously going to keep trying.

Keep the videos coming 🔥🪵
Oh I plan too. It’s always easier when my wife is around to help also film.
1500 totes based off what you once told me you sold in a year, plus growth.
Pretty solid guess.
How many face cords did you do last year
Hahaha that sounds like you're looking for help in your guess !!!😊
700 facecords because I ran out of logs for a few months.
1,750 totes
@Edgar-z28 good guess
1200 totes?
That’s a good guess and we are shooting for around there. All depends on how things go. But my goal is 3,000 totes.

@amandadavis9726 yeah sorting as you split will save time. That’s why I sort my logs when moving timber around.
@ I’m definitely gonna give it shot.
As long as log trucks keep coming in, I'll say 1300 totes.
Yeah I hope they keep coming. It’s more about the cash flow honestly.
880 totes
Good guess
700 totes because you will run out of totes, and a crap load of stacked wood. Overall, total wood in the yard will be 300 cords.

I bet you have 120 totes
That’s it? I have that just in boiler totes. Lol
