  • Processing some firewood in single digit temps. Not the funniest thing to do but it needs to be done. Lots of wood to make to get ready for next year. Chain came off. Was an easy fix. Just part of the job.

That trailer is a beast. Everytime I see it in your videos I grin. Never fun working in the cold but firewood is a year round activity.

Yeah it is. Even I say that everytime I see it as well. When hooking it up and see the truck squat when trailer is empty I’m like yep big trailer. Haha. And yep firewood is a daily job. Love it.

When frozen the wood does pop pretty nicely.

Yeah cutting and splitting in the colder temps. Went back to basics and split a facecord by hand last weekend. Kinda felt good. Cold weather really doesn't bother me. The wood split very easy. Have a good one!

Yeah I don’t mind it. And yeah the wood just pops. That’s how I feel when I do some resplits on the standalone splitter. It’s fun and it’s a change of pace. What’s your normal machine?

@Treestofirewood I have a splitfire 2265. I primarily cut wood for myself but with all the oak wilt, I been trying to keep up with all the dead trees. Everyone around me sells wood so it's been hard to make any sales.

Sales will come trust me. When they start pouring in because you sell a quality product you won’t be able to keep up.

    Ooo a disc golf client.
I enjoy playing and hope to play some courses in your part of the country eventually.

I think where I deliver the wood has the #1 rated course in the states. I could be wrong. I know he throws a few events a year.

@@Treestofirewood depends on the app maybe, on the UDisc app, the #1 course in the country is Maple Hill in MA. Was actually #1 in the world in 2023, believe it dropped out of the top spot in 2024.
Any chance it's Flip City? That's 11th in the world, but is ranked first for old courses(was built in 1980)

The chain coming off seems to be more prevalent on the inline machines than offset. It leads me to wonder if you flipped the arm up to support the bigger rounds. If it would help keep the round from grabbing the chain on the down? You and yours have a great day.

Nice processing 👍 Bummer about the chain coming off but I guess that's going to happen. Chain swapping process looks easy enough. Don't mind the cold as much when the Sun is out.

Swapping the chain is super easy. Not a big deal at all. But yeah sucks when it happens. I will start to use the log holder when I do these big logs to prevent the chain hit.

Mystic bar oil. Been running it on my 16-24 for 3 years. Flows good even in below 0 temps

Nice work! Does that big wedge ever float up on you?

    • @Treestofirewood
      @Treestofirewood  14 днів тому +1

No it doesn’t move at all. Only time I had it move was when I had a split piece I didn’t see move up and literally push the wedge up. Crazy scenario.

Yeah it sucks. But only way to get ahead. Plus I think about all the people who rely on my firewood every year. Makes it worth it.
