I know you find the LS installs Oh Hum but it is pretty doggone cool to watch. You do a great job and know all issues that pop up and work arounds flow out of your brain. Its great. I remember getting a pin hole in my 64 Corvette and having a hard time to find anyone able and willing to weld it. II found one guy. But I was told to pretend I didn't think he could do it. That way he would take the job on to prove to me he could. It worked! he did and so did the patch on that Aluminum Rad. Amazing stuff Brent Thank You for sharing, LS is a great project the way you do it.
Mr Doitall. Amazes me to see you figure out EVERYTHING to do a motor swap. Including the electronics which is routine to you. I'm old and only did swaps when it all was analog and strictly one each for hook ups and very minimal at that. I'm lost on new stuff. Fun to watch you work. Thanks for the show, and Hi to Pablo. 👍😎🤔🕵🏾♂️🍺🎵🎸🍺👽
My favorite body style of GM trucks, I like the Chevy big window best but any 58 or 59 is by far my favorite. If I had one I would also want an LS with fuel injection because I would want to daily drive it. Too bad but my back won't let me sit in a standard cab truck. I am too tall and can't get the seat forward enough to tilt the seat back and relieve the stress on my back. I admire the man's taste in vehicles.
Sweet tip on using your ball joint tool on your drive shaft U-joint that worked great I've had one of those ball joint tools never thought of using it for U-joints I've always just use my vise
You make this look so easy, which I know that it is not easy, but i wish I had your knowledge and skills for just a part of what I have seen you do. Great video can hardly wait to see what is next.
You just make it look to easy. Pablo looks like he's enjoying the ride. The general wouldn't look right without him in it. I always say it but love Pablo.hes a beautiful dog
Great job as always and I learned something today and I just wanted to thank you for sharing your skills and experience with all of us , I could watch your channel all day long I loved it when it was every day, keep up the great work God Bless you and your family
Pablo does what our St. Bernard mix Tippy used to do when we took him for a drive. Sit on the back seat and rest his head on the arm rest between the seats. Great work on the swap. Always a bonus when something fits nicely the first time without a lot of messing around. Stay safe and stay well.
Thanks for sharing, Brent! That's a great-looking truck, and your swap is going to make it a real treasure to own! I love "old-school" because that's how I grew up, but the advances in technology are making today's builds more reliable than ever! Keep providing your knowledge, we'll absorb as much as possible! Be safe! Pablo: Good Boy!
So interested in watching your videos I learned so much I'm a bit of a fabricator myself so I'm always open for learning something new and you sure show it really good thank you. 👍👍😀
Had a choice today of who to watch first, Brent or Knuckledragging Dan ( haha ) over at DD Speed Shop. I think watching you fiirst is a good choice. Nice build, you have some nice tin roll thru your garage and they are fortunate to find you! Now on to Dan's Garage!🤣🤣
That's cool first time I ever saw a tool to take out u joints and then you tell us it's a balljoint tool blew my mind you had me thinking that they finally came out with a tool for it you should change it up and come out with the u joint tool I love that whatf ever problem arises to think about it and take care of it good back ground tunes
Knowledge, skill, talent and more! Brent, you have it all!!!! I re-watch your videos and I see them when I sleep and even then,,,,,, I ask,,,,,,,, how does he do it all???
As always a good video, a good job and .... a lot of patience and technical knowledge to understand something in all those electrical wires, control units etc. Just looking at that electrical system gave me a headache! 🙃😂
that worked pretty good ...never tig welded before ..learned how to braze weld when i was in my early teens.. now mostly mig and stick ... from what i see tig welding is a little bit like brazing
UPDATE: I was able to get it started again and when I got to about the 3 minute mark, I moved the cursor up to about 5 minutes and it worked fine after that but there was something hinky going on with that vid. Anyway, enjoyed it, like always. Keep up the good work. I will be watching.
Hey Brett, What a beautiful ole GMC. I really love whats been done to it. The LS will really make this a great daily driver, wish it was mine. lol It doesn't take you long to convert it over. Good job buddy. Later
Nice; a powered engine hoist. I was looking for a shoe horn for you to help get that engine in the truck. lol I find it amazing how you can work through that fuse box to fit your needs. Good Video
Pablo, backseat driver. Electrical later, rad modified n set up back inside, driveshaft fit but motor mounts modified bit by bit, ls sitting where a big block was in a 59GMC a generational cus'n. Wiring harnessed in the weeds, minds gathered for a truck n some dog boys' needs.
I thought I was the only one that used my ball joint press on U- joints , I used it once in a video and had lots of comments and questions about it . Shawn
I love this truck, and your skill level still just boggles my mind! I would be on the floor, in a fetal position, crying like a little girl! Lol! Tony.
Nice job as always. I have always been scared to do an ls swap because of the wiring but watching you do it makes it look easy. I think I may actually give it a shot this summer. I have considered using the Holley setup to simplify everything but watching you use the factor harness and just trimming off the fat seems so much better then spending money that's I dont have to. As alway thanks for Sharing what you do Brent I personally really enjoy your channel! You should look into some Halfass Kustoms t-shirts and hoodies or even better some work shirts like dickies style button down shirts! That would be awesome! Just a though I no I would definitely buy a few! Thanks again Brent.
Excellent video Halfass Kustoms :) also are you put Fan shroud on rad to and don't forget on Battery cables for - have ground cable of pig tail in dashboard firewall to plus connector with bolt plus 2 washers to for super grounded too! Looking forward next videos on this engine plus transmission swap too and excellent going so far perfectly too!
An old mechanic told me you can just swap the pressure fitting in the back of the pump to change line types. I don't know that for sure because I had already bought a crossover hose for my swap.
I am getting ready to do the same thing as you. I may be asking you several questions as I go, if you don't mind. I have never done it before (an LS 5.3) that is. Went in petty easy. I'm sure they all don't go that way. Ronnie.
Best era of chevrolet trucks, adding reliability and functionality is a no brainier. Great work!!
Still amazes me when you look at a fuse box and understand it lol.
I shrunk a copy of the fuse diagram, laminated it and taped it to the firewall of my old truck lol.
It's con fusing 😁😁😁when u don't understand it🤔🤔🤔
I've always loved 40s and 50s pickup trucks. I have absolutely no use for it, but I still want one! One day!
This is the best that UA-cam has to offer, you amaze me with your diverse knowledge, and problem solving skills
He’s like a one man custom shop it’s mental
@@cortniesmith3138 like .he is a one man custom shop
He's a killer ! 😉

Starting @ 14:20, watching Brent drop that motor in by himself has got to be one of the most amazing things I've ever seen!
Damn bro , you're like Dr. Frankenstein bringing these cars & trucks alive !!! Great work !!!! 👍👍
Brent, You def. have a lot of skills and energy.
Mr Doitall. Amazes me to see you figure out EVERYTHING to do a motor swap. Including the electronics which is routine to you. Hi Halfass from here in the D Michigan, I am enjoying watching your build, now I have some insight on a LS installation Thanks 👍🤝😁😎❤🤩
My favorite body style of GM trucks, I like the Chevy big window best but any 58 or 59 is by far my favorite. Amazing. Glad to know that there are people who can figure out all this stuff when upgrading the engine in an earlier vehicle!
Sweet tip on using your ball joint tool on your drive shaft U-joint that worked great I've had one of those ball joint tools never thought of using it for U-joints I've always just use my vise
Absolutely love the way you build things with what you have in the shop or the yard
You make this look so easy, which I know that it is not easy, but i wish I had your knowledge and skills for just a part of what I have seen you do. Great video can hardly wait to see what is next.
Good work!
Always amazed watching you work away on whose trucks! Been waiting for your video today!! See you on the next one!!!
You just make it look to easy. Pablo looks like he's enjoying the ride. The general wouldn't look right without him in it. I always say it but love Pablo.hes a beautiful dog

Your fabrication is so awesome. And really is starting to take shape. Thank you for sharing!
I love the beginning of this video. I love your dog! Such a big star. Lol! I love both those trucks! I Love your videos sir. Thankyou!
So interested in watching your videos I learned so much I'm a bit of a fabricator myself so I'm always open for learning something new and you sure show it really good thank you. 👍👍😀
All I can say buddy......never a dull moment..... We dream about doing this stuff, its not until it done in your present that we become a believer.
You're on to another one and I'm still trying to make enough room in my garage to get started back on mine.
You got away without doing any driveshaft work. That's another win.
That LS went in super easy, of course when you have the knowledge and tools it helps.
Damn i need another shop!
dude, that is a real sweet ride. hell had a 57 that was a great truck. wish I still had it.
Everyone likes a ride in the General. Man and mans best friend. Enjoy
Such a nice car.
I really love that model.
Think about modifying one like that to a cabin and a half.
Cut the flap in line with the rear fenders.
Another very happy customer soon, thanks to Halfass Kustoms people. 😎👍🇨🇦

Great job. Clever solutions to the popup problems.
44:32 and that damned dog actually looked at the camera and winked. WTF???? LOL. Pablo, you amaze me. A very nice job of making it fit Brent.
Lmao! That's great he did! Hahahaha
*- I enjoy seeing all of this is so easy for you because of experience and your smarts.*
*- It would be overwhelming for me.*

Step 1 to install the LS: Swig down a can of Coors. 2. Pet Pablo. 3. Swig down another can of Coors, load Pablo in the General and call it a night.🤪🍺😀
Man you make it look like it's just another day at the shop "so it is so it was " later.
Hey Brett, What a beautiful ole GMC. I really love whats been done to it. The LS will really make this a great daily driver, wish it was mine. lol It doesn't take you long to convert it over. Good job buddy. Later

I love this truck, and your skill level still just boggles my mind! I would be on the floor, in a fetal position, crying like a little girl! Lol! Tony.
Most of the so called “Crying little girls lying on the floor” end up being squealing little boys!
Nice job as always. I have always been scared to do an ls swap because of the wiring but watching you do it makes it look easy. I think I may actually give it a shot this summer. Amazing, you make it look so easy. Cheers
An old mechanic told me you can just swap the pressure fitting in the back of the pump to change line types. I don't know that for sure because I had already bought a crossover hose for my swap.
Amazing jod you doing there my friend
I am getting ready to do the same thing as you. I may be asking you several questions as I go, if you don't mind. I have never done it before (an LS 5.3) that is. Went in petty easy. I'm sure they all don't go that way. Ronnie.
