You should definitely put a bunch of single 12" loaded enclosures from different companies up against each other for build quality, price, size, sound quality and overall output!

Maybe even compare it to the CT Sounds Tropo line or some other more budget offerings. I would absolutely love that review and comparison!
I have a pair of Skar EVL-15s that came in a prefab Skar enclosure, which they no longer sell. I’ve been running the setup for a few years with no issues. Enclosure and sub’s holding up great, not sure why they stopped making it.
The non standard hookup would kinda irk me, the reason I recently bought a pair of Skar SDRs in a prefab is to later take them out and pair them up with more SDRS for a larger build.
when you said rattling now audible did you mean the sub box itself at first or is it just the car? I've had some sub boxes rattling and port air noises from some boxes. I was thinking of buying the 10 inch loaded box from ct sound but after this video just wanted to clarify what you meant. Thank You.
Needed a prefab with 2cubic ft..airspace for an American bass xr 12 dual 2 and finally bought one from ct sounds 120 bucks (tax included) to my front door in 4 days time and it is well made and sounds great ...have been a carpenter and wood worker for over 20 years and could have easily built my own but after adding up the cost for the wood and supplies the savings were so small it just didn't make since ....and if I decide to change subs may go with the meso line from cts next ....but the American Bass xr dual 2 has been amazing thus far ....
Donald Wilcox I've been looking at their single boxes and they do look like they are well built and it's tuned lower then the scar evl prefab box I read 35hz on a single 12 CT Sounds box skars say 38hz the evl box single
Box is solid .....for the price ...be hard build it for that buying dame materials ....and it does sound good ...I would tell you of it was just average ....I run a jp23v1.5 to a american bass xr12 dual 2 ....in a extended cab 98 s10....it makes enough wind to shake my back glass and windshield to the point you can see them flex ...and forget about the rear view and door mirrors can't keep them adjusted and or attached it shakes them around so bad ....
I got the single Tropo =1x12 to replace the Rockfosgate P3 sub and i must they sound so much better. Solid bass and good clarity. I would highly recommend it but doesn’t know how long it will last though.

its called bass rolloff and yes irs very commen in factory headunits. im trying to figure out if my elantras hu has it because i cant tell with my ear. im planning on trying to give a call to them if theres a department that can give me info on that so i know if i need a LOC with bass restoration because they are pricey compared to the simple ones

Imagine 4 of these 12s on a 3k. Definitely decent. The thing with the tropos is there dont like big boxes. Dont use more then 1.75 cubes for a 12 and your golden.

Bought a PreFab CT sounds box empty cuz I already had an Audiopipe BDC4 and it only took about a month before the whole top of the box blew off lol. The subs might be good but the box was garbage
I want to see you experiment do everything wrong two mismatched Subs in one box 1 10 and 1 12 in the same box but divided two completely different amplifiers pushing two completely different Subs in the same enclosure at the same time with different tuning

So I was thinking on purchasing CT1X12 // Single 12” Kerf Port Universal Car Subwoofer Box Does this box really do 34 hz or higher or lower. I find not to many reviews. I have a 12 meso I like pair up, but I want those lows. Ct say the sub can play down to 32 hz. Not sure this box can go lower.
could you take a look at some Ground Zero SPL subwoofers? i got myself a GZIW 12XSPL-D2 for 200 Euro's.. that's like 160 to 170 Dollars i think.. 500-1000 recommended power handling. currently shoving 1000-12000 watts trough it and it's quite impressive for the buck
Bass lift is for bass roll off , for instance i have a ram 1500 with alpine "premium" and with a normal loc tapped into a door when i turn my volume up around 15/36 my bass starts turning itself down so it doesnt blow the door speakers , so i picked up the nvxPro and it fixed it 100%

Got my enclosure with ct sounds right when they released for a prefab box it works in my opinion, unfortunately my ct sounds ozone 12 blew because the spider screws came loose and started rubbing on the coil 😢
Main problem with the Skar boxes is the cut-outs are too big and it's made with mushy 5/8 wood (talking about the 10" and 12" armor-all boxes not the carpeted boxes.)
It probably has to do with reliability as well as cost. Soldered leads is about as reliable as you can get. Plus I bet the vast majority of buyers is never going to pull the sub out.

Your 12 is not seeing much wattage at all after box rise not to mention you're starting with a 2 ohm load! JP23 would dramatically improve the output of your evl 12 without alot of voltage consumption at that 2 ohm load! Just switching to two 10s without increasing amp power is not going to get what you want!
@@danielanderson8001 I think you are wrong, my amp is definitely pushing the skar to its limits. The amp is a kicker dx 1000.1 making 1000w at 2 ohms. The woofer gets very hot on heavy bass notes
1000 at 2ohm! YOU DO NOT maintain a steady 2ohm load when playing music!!!! The heat is coming from clipping to the sub because you're cranking on the volume to the point the amp can't make anymore power so it clips the signal to the sub! You will run into the same issue switching to 2 10s. Its your $ and your system so if you want to give it a shot by all means go for it! Evl is rated at 1250 rms! You have a 1000 w amp! Evl being a cheap will still handle a clean 1250w no prob.

SDR is the lesser sub..not by much. Ct gets deeper or Lower notes.

Is this a Tropo or TropoXL? A comparison would be nice between this and the SDR. I think the Skar boxes are 5/8” vs CT using 3/4” though right?
The bass lift function sounds like with some stock head units they lower the bass signal, the lift might replace the removed bass notes

Jus installed the American bass titan 1044s and 2 evl 12s in a custom box with the two ct sounds 2000 watt amps really shakes

When I ordered my box I didn’t get any cable looking like that it felt really thin and short, I changed them out for skyhigh 8awg

Skar tried to copy Sundown over decade ago. Sundown has all kinds of new products coming out every year whereas Skar stayed stuck in 2014
