Nice vid Luke, thermal cams definitely help giving customers visual proof of the work carried out. The dirtiest system I flushed was a conversion which was 40+ years old, all original rads, Ideal Mexico floorstanding. You can imagine the filth that came out of that! I was flushing 1 rad for an hour and it just wouldn't clear up completely. Did the best that I could, but explained to the customer that with rads being original 40+ years old, he may want to consider changing them in the future at some point. I used FX2 as well!
Wow 40 years! Bet that was a nightmare mate, it’s is satisfying getting the muck out but I was same as you, when you spend an hour on 1 rad and you just can’t get it clean you start thinking am you ever going to get it all out! To be fair I’ve seen your flushes mate and you do a top job on them 🙌👍👍
Another useful video thanks m8y. Yeah having the tools to make your customers more aware of the situation and the service they are receiving is well handy and could be the tipping point for them choosing to have the flush done, as its quite an expense for them. You could also use it for diagnosing and advising customers that they actually need a system clean/flush and to be honest for this one all you need to do is showing them a picture or video of the circulation pump it speaks for its self. Good job as always bud, I'm glad things look to be progressing nicely for yah.
I’ve been impressed with the camera mate, your right can come in handy for diagnostic work, will pay for itself on flushes so handy bit of kit to have 👍
Definitely satisfying cleaning all that out and having a spotless tank, I’ve seen systems that have been powerflushed and you go and look at the tank and it’s still filthy
ive got the topdon 0005 model. got it at a good price with offer and discount on top. handy for locating Ch pipes in wall. could located the drop feed in a stud wall. or if anyone is worried about drilling into pipes. put the heating on for 15 minutes and scan the wall.
100% good investment, from a business point. The added bonus to the customer is great and in return may be the guarantee of extra work. I feel more so nowadays that customers are looking for that little bit extra and well this spread over multiple jobs would of paid for itself in no time mate
Thanks and enjoying the videos on your channel. Any chance the next time you do a flush connected to the circulating pump on a sealed system you record a bit of a how to?
Excellent video mate, I agree that they make you feel much more professional about what you’re doing and if the customer is watching you using it then they usually have a much better understanding of the problems you are trying to point out, keep the videos coming mate👍
Thanks mate, really helped and will change the way I powerflush from now on, lot easier to concentrate on the areas I need instead of just going round vibrating rads 👍
They all seem the same size unless you look at a lot of money for what I can see, this one has a 2.8” screen which I found fine for what I was using it for…yep also agree vibrate rads when cleaning a system for better results 👍
Thermal imaging camera for you professionals, will pay for it self in no time. Fantastic images and points you in the right direction for targeted agitations 🤣
i was looking at them after seeing your video......good stuff But there seems to be a tc004 and a tc004 lite ????? phoned topdon uk but they couldnt help in telling me the difference. the lite is cheaper by 70 quid can you shed any light on this...............thanks Tony
Who needs an iPhone all singing all dancing supposed to be, I’ve been using a cat S60 S61 for years built in Flir camera two tools in one. I also use it to check the flow and return on the blr are not the wrong way round come across that a lot for instance the kebab on the Greenstar will show hot on the bottom cooler on top.
Never thought about checking flow and returns with it, can see how it will help if you have a boiler piped up wrong, easy to prove when you can see the thermals 👍
It’s was mate, really happy with results in end, this system really needed a deep clean, one point I did think I was going to need another day but stayed a bit later to get it sorted 👍
Was thinking about buying a thermal camera to help me locate a blockage on a microbore system, on a job I’ve inherited, have no idea where the manifold is and was thinking this could point me to it…… just can’t bring myself to part with the money though!! How much are you charging for a power-flush these days?
Depends how often your going to Use it, it’s definitely an investment tool if your looking at showing customers value for money or identifying cold spots on heating systems to improve efficiency by removing them
@@bluebulldog_uk or you could say to the customer Put your hand on the rad here, it’s cold, do the flush, now put your hand here and it’s hot and that’s free 🤣
Tried it on some underfloor and you could kind of make out where the runs was but wasn’t exactly crystal clear due to the depth and heat coming off pipes
For the features it has its competitive with what’s out there for the same tech, it’s more of an investment for jobs, the ability to show customers before and after pictures, it will change the way I do powerflushes in future

Top job! Just bought a magnacleanse, won't be surprised if its in microbore, someone agitates the sludge out of the rad and blocks the pipework😅

Satisfying job cleaning out the FandE cistern. A serious pain sometimes getting them out, but worth it. Makes all the difference.
Definitely satisfying cleaning all that out and having a spotless tank, I’ve seen systems that have been powerflushed and you go and look at the tank and it’s still filthy
Just shows the value of running your system properly dosed with inhibitor
100% that system was one of the worst of seen, pretty bad
I’d also think about investing in longer hoses to get that powerflush machine setup outside fella. Thanks for the vid👍
Yeah mate I’ve never upgraded the hoses but longer one would helon

Yeah that’s a great shout, I actually tried it on the ceiling and it showed up where the joists were so plenty of applications it can be used on 👍
@@bluebulldog_uk it also detects under carpets as well. so can located pipe runs.

Agree mate, I was impressed how it helped me identify cold points and showing the customer the before and after of the radiators was good for them 👍
Thanks and enjoying the videos on your channel.

Yeah can look at doing it mate 👍👍

It would be good to see you use the camera to balance a system if possible
Thanks mate, really helped and will change the way I powerflush from now on, lot easier to concentrate on the areas I need instead of just going round vibrating rads 👍
Can also use it to show customer they actually need a power flush ,so could increase business.
Yeah especially on quotes you can go round and show the customer where they have cold/dead spots on radiators effecting there efficiency
Class
Looks a decent bit of kit does that mate 🎉
Been great to work with mate made more
More efficient on them jobs 🙌👍👍
Vibrocleanse wih power flush every time, I’m after one of those thermal imaging camera, but want bigger screen
They all seem the same size unless you look at a lot of money for what I can see, this one has a 2.8” screen which I found fine for what I was using it for…yep also agree vibrate rads when cleaning a system for better results 👍

Yeah changed the way I’m doing powerflushes now, easier to concentrate on areas that are worse effected 👍

That system was full of crap. You did well there Luke it was satisfying to see a power flush actually dumping a lot of sludge

It’s is a lot to outlay but will pay for itself over the time on certain jobs, £450 minimum I am on powerflushes
For the price of those cameras id expect them to fix the radiators whilst pointing it at them for me, not just tell me the temp 😑
Depends how often your going to

Ive got the old phone flir, and its crap, doesn't hold its charge
That’s one expensive camera mate 😮

be quicker just making it into a pressurised system
In regards to cleaning out the F&E tank? Still would of needed a full powerflush to get all that muck out I would of thought?
