Climbing North Sister - The Most Dangerous of The Three Peaks
Вставка
- Опубліковано 23 сер 2022
- North Sisters, aka "The Beast of the Cascades" is 10,090' of the most terrible volcanic rock you could imagine. She is part of the There Sisters Mountain range located outside Bend, Oregon. While not overly technical, the North Sister is often referred to as the most dangerous of the three peaks due to its extensive erosion and rock fall. While I loved every second of this, I probably would not climb it again due to the inherent uncontrollable danger of some of the worst rock I have ever encountered. Funny story, I agreed to run an ultra marathon if my close friend and climbing partner Gabe led me up N. Sisters.

Preach!
You guys made it look easy. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! We were toast afterwards 😅
Great video. How many rappels did it take? I have a 70m rope, just trying to see if there is more than one rappel
Hey thanks for watching! We did it in one rappel. We took (2) thin 60m ropes and tied them together and it was more than enough! Have fun!
Curious if you think 45m or 50m would be long enough for the rap. I can water knot two different length ropes and then rap on a munter to clear it.
Great video btw!
There is no trail!! 😂
Ha! Indeed there is no trail!
I wouldn’t want to trip on that slope or step on the wrong rock.
😅Amen to that
its all loose rock
Yes it is!
Yooo, I met you on Mt. Thielsen! Nice to run into again, here.
Hey Alex! We remember you very well! Great to run into you again 😁
its not "sisters" its "sister". "north sister" " south sister" etc... their the "three sisters". probably the most annoying thing in the entire oregon outdoor community is calling a single sister "sisters". suuuuuper annoying.
For sure man!
Bro, it’ll be okay. The mountains don’t care what they’re called, they just “are.” Let the people and their mistakes bother you not. Enjoy the mountains for what they are.
Why??? That’s all I can ask
Because its there! ;)
why not?
Because it's a good challenge, and to test our abilities as humans. Why sit on the couch and watch youtube videos? Why do anything?
