This is THE BAND to catch live ! Legendary tunes and sound. No £600 tickets heere and a night out that will live long in your memory. Long may they last. just fantastic.
Carla Summers and funny thing is DG had never heard or Seen Ray M of the Doors and I am sure Vice Versa until JJB pointed it out to him. Both Keyboard Geniuses
JJ is the man!!! ✊ I just played this at my local bar/pub on the “jukebox” and was amazed as to how many people came up to me and said that they are Strangler fans. Lol!
1st band I ever saw . 1977 . Life changing . Love the Stranglers still though like all bands they did some cack too. Other folks liked it I'm sure . Stranglers forever X
Dear Dave Greenfield, If you hear us from where you are now (in Heaven, I assume), this view of this video is a tribute to pay for you. God bless you and rest in peace. All condolences to your family and your counterparts from the Band The Stranglers.
77 seen them just after I bought the 1st album. Every track a blast but this one stuck out like a sore thumb to me. Still love it. JJ seems to love it as well. 🎉
Things change. I think I discovered the Stranglers in the 80s and was so surprised to learn that this song was from the 70s. I thought "Wow, this guys were really ahead of the curve". At any rate I love this live version for the energy. And for Dave Greenfield's awesome keyboards. He was one of the first musicians I learned of that died from Covid.
Amazing!! One of my fave bands in the 80's and I didn't even know they were still touring recently!!! F***ing amazing!!! I was so sure JJ Burnell would get totally wasted in the 90's but he's proven me wrong!!!
This is not a bad version of "Get A Grip On Yourself" sung by Baz. Even though I prefer Hugh Cornwell who founded The Stranglers. He had his reasons to quit and leave the band in 1990. He reached a burn out phase among other reasons within the rest of the band members. I was very surprised to see Jet Black behind (his) drum kit with his health issues. The Stranglers aren't the same without Jet Black as well. I saw The Stranglers with Hugh in my hometown of Santa Barbara, California at the Santa Barbara County Bowl around 1983. Oddly enough they opened up for Roxy Music. I think I was the only one there who knew them. I kept shouting out a few times for them to play "Peaches". Hugh responded back "Ah. Someone remembers." It was their 'Feline' Tour.
Especially love the keyboards.
RIP Dave.
Dave Greenfield one of the best keyboardists ever. Thank you.

I hate how few people seem to notice this song has one of the best keyboard parts ever.

First rock gig I attended May 1985.Entire band playing full throttle. And I I still haven't got a grip on myself for 34 years later.
One of the greatest singles the group produced. Even old Baz made it great.
+roger sharman Baz always make it great ;)
roger sharman not as good as Hugh Cornwall tho
Charles Nelson they have more energy now and look like a happier bunch of guys without HC, imo.
Baz rules
