I AM CRYING SEEING SERA IS BACK TO REACT TO DREAMCATCHER AGAIN.... Her loving eyes towards the girls is just melts me...

OOTD creates a bit of a divide where some people love it and some people don't. The girls have mentioned a few times that this song is like a parallel world. They show Dreamcatcher showing narcissism and being caught up by the standards of the industry, seeking attention and views. The MV is pretty dark. You see all the flaws being edited to appear perfect, you see fake drama, obsession with selfies, alcoholism, etc. But there is also a Mystery Code/ARG tied to the MV. ShaSha (the person working on the 'Feeling Lucky' design) is coaxed to go seek 'the Crown'. Dreamcatcher almost look like AI, chanting some sort of curse (I'm priceless, I'm spotless, I'm flawless, I'm gorgeous), trying to tempt ShaSha into surrending herself to them. Like a trap. And at the end, ShaSha gets 'disconnected' and faints. Before she faints (or some assume she died), she can see it was all a simulation, glitching and all fake. The album VillainS is part of a duology and there are many theories as to what it'll be about.

Great explanation. The music video is definitely dark. The first time watching it, I was confused but as I watched it a few more times and read the dreamcatcher chat in the mv, it got really dark. Ymenehcra wants shasha. Ymenehcra said that “the crown will be perfect only when the white carpet turns red.” 😱 I can’t wait for the next release.
I'll be honest, it's not a track that makes me feel anything (watching these four songs back to back really rammed that home for me) - and that's a first for me with DC - I do appreciate the concept and what the MV is trying to do though. I also worry that the song, without context, just sounds like shallow girl group sings about how pretty they are and the stuff they have and it bothers me that newbies might hear it that way.

The irony here is that the newbies and shallow fans who are all fired up about this track for all the wrong reasons are in for a rude awakening when part 2 comes out. I can't wait.
Welcome back. I'm so happy to see you found your way back. I'm sorry that the struggles of DC brought back feelings from your past. While I know they don't always show us everything, it seems to me that they are happy now. I know that getting their first win was such a challenge/relief/accomplishment for them and it seems they have been happier since. I really hope they are as happy as they appear to their fans. The Idol industry in Korea is something that not a lot of foreigners understand, but you have helped us understand a little bit of how it is.

"Vision" is part 2 of the Apocalypse trilogy. I believe they are showing us the perspective from the future in this series, showing us how the earth looks like when we keep acting like we do. While "Maison" was talking about the destruction of the environment, here they seem to be talking about the destruction due to war. I don't know if that was the idea from the beginning, but Putin's aggression definitely played a role here. In one set they even dance in front of what looks sort of like a huge trident, which is the coat of arms of Ukraine (could be a coincidence though, or this is me seeing things).
It is easy to see how the conflict in Ukraine could result in global destruction. It's just a push of a button away. Note that Dami presses a launch button, but it's not for nukes. It's for spreading their message, their vision. Peace. To be heard all around the world. The song is also a call for action, to stand together against aggressors and those who are destroying the planet out of greed. There is not much difference between someone leading an army or a corporation, if the result is destruction. Still, Dami said the intention is to resolve the problems in a peaceful way.
So, what do we do? There is no easy answer. Dami has an outfit that shows that perfectly. One half is an innocent bridal dress, the other half is simply badass. What I know is that any aggressor only listens to very limited diplomacy, and they need to know that the good in the world is ready and willing to fight them if needed. Whoever the aggressor is, we are more than them. They need to know they will never succeed, the only option is peace.
By the way, my interpretation could be completely wrong, any other theory is perfectly valid as well.
Musically, it's heavier than Maison, and I feel it fits the subject matter very well. It sounds aggressive and heavy, but also soft and vulnerable. There is the duality again. And I love the fake keychange at the end of the chorus, the crazy bass and the guitar in the bridge. All in all this is a fantastic release!
"Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell, representing nature. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable, right?
My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity).
SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace.
There are still many things I don't know. For example, why are all three titles in French. 😉 (And why are there 3 Damis with 7 shadows...)
The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal.
Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. We lost Leez as a producer, but the team around Ollounder did a fantastic job! And as a bass player, I can say the slap bass is crazy!
I probably won't have to tell anyone that the visuals here are out of this world. I'm going to say it anyways: The members have never looked more beautiful, and the whole team all deserve a raise!
"Reason" is the fan-song for Dreamcatcher's 6th anniversary. I can't even begin to describe how proud I am of them. They're flexing their rock and vocal muscles, while all three rappers make an appearance. InSomnia might be lifting them up, but they should know, they are also carrying us. Happy 6th anniversary, Dreamcatcher!
Can you imagine this song live? With us InSomnia going Whoooo-whoooaaa and them singing over it? 😊
I wouldn't be surprised if the animations were done by a fan, I seem to recognize the style. Whoever did them, they did a great job. I see the book from the Nightmare arc, the mask from Scream, the gun from R.o.S.E Blue, the gagged bust from Boca, the cup from Odd Eye, the hand through the mirror from Good Night and the clock from Piri.
Musically, I am in heaven. I'm a metalhead and I love the song. AND THAT RIFF! 🤘🎸 Obviously the song is an absolute anthem!
At first glance you could think OOTD is about them being proud and happy with themselves, about confidence. I don't think that is it though. I have no idea if my theory is correct, but the fact that the album is called VersuS VillainS makes me think it is not this simple. So I believe this song is meant as a criticism of narcissism, vanity, materialism and also (maybe) the fast fashion industry. "OOTD" stands for "Outfit of the Day" after all, maybe useless instagram influencers posting videos of their outfit of the day, which also promotes fast fashion.
The fact that fashion is moving ever faster is the most destructive industry to the planet apart from the fossil fuel industry. The Aral lake has all but disappeared because of the cotton industry for example. It would fit to the Villain image, and you can see in the MV that they are acting. It is shown in the scene where Yoohyeon and Handong are fighting, but then the camera is off and Handong helps Yoohyeon up.
The main reason why I don't think it is about confidence or their own success is the line "Driving on the highway, drunken everyday, do you feel like a monster?" and the album title. That just doesn't fit. And there was the ymenehcra account posting about touching a crown is dangerous and other cryptic messages before the comeback.
It could also be a big and well-hidden F*U to the Kpop industry, like the Nightmare arc probably was. The narcissism and materialism is definitely criticized here, and Dreamcatcher have been criticized a lot themselves because of their rock/metal concept, while other groups have been celebrated for using a guitar riff once in a song. And Handong standing in front of the camera with bruises all over her legs seems to be a comment on the merciless industry as well.
The music is highly interesting as well. There still is rock there, but dialed back. The song structure is not what you'd expect at all, for me it is punk rock meets K-Pop. Not their usual spiel, but a very good progression. It takes a couple of listens to really appreciate it.
President of Insomnia, don't worry too much, our girls are doing well. Sales are increasingly high, and although we are a niche fandom, we don't intend to be anything else, we just want them to be happy and fulfill their dreams while they give us good music.
Good to see you back. I thought you'd lost interest in Dreamcatcher. I love them because their songs are never just catchy disposable tunes like most Kpop. They always have something to say about human society and human nature. OOTD is no exception. Only Dreamcatcher could trash the superficial narcissism of mainstream Kpop and social media, and look amazing doing it. Once again they are being ignored by MAMA as expected. It doesn't even surprise me anymore. Our girls are doing just fine without a roomful of trophies. InSomnia will always be there for them.

Yay! I had thought you were done with Dreamcatcher, welcome back and I hope you are doing well. Please remember that DC recently all renewed their contracts together as a group with their company. That definitely says to me that they have loyalty and trust to each other and their company, a close friendship (really sisterhood) as a group, and confidence in their future together, if they feel that way you shouldn't feel sad thinking about them.
That said, I actually really like the OOTD MV/song, but it is understandably a shock to the system for some. One thing to remember is that the lyrics are not to be taken literally, it's an introspection / criticism of the thing they appear to be saying. The concept centers around narcissism, about the image you see that celebrities/idols/influencers show you and then what is the reality when the camera is turned off. That being said I think BONVOYAGE is the best title track they have ever released, it's the best of Deja Vu and Fly High combined into one. And BONVOYAGE / OOTD tie for best visual effects in a music video imo.
I can feel you love Dreamcatcher very much. they are dong fine. they make good music. they are here to stay. don't worry too much.

OOTD is an interesting one, I was not really into it on first listen but it did grow on me, and from comments I saw I was not the only one who felt that way. The lyrics taken at face value could be off-putting to some insomnias but it is actually a satire/critiques on fake or manufactured self image/narcissism in media/music industry.
While I appreciate the lyrics and the mv is beautiful, I don't think it's their best song musically. I do appreciate them trying something different, but for me OOTD is like their first Japanese release What - not in my DC rotation.

I kind of feel the same about Red Velvet's Chill Kill. The MV is great and I like parts of the song but it's a strange mix (the 2 parts of the song don't go together that well) - but I do like it better than I did at first.@@zzajizz
I definitely think the lyrics could've been cleverer in showing the satire. But overall, I'm obsessed with the whole mystery surrounding it. It does make me appreciate the track more.

Reason is still the most emotional and beautiful Dreamcatcher song. At first I didn't pay attention to OOTD and what Dreamcatcher wanted to say. But now I'm obsessed with how good the album is. This is the most YG MV they ever did. And that is on purpose. This is a parallel universe, where they are evil narcissists, trapping their poor editor Shasha as "the 99th sacrifice". There was so much going on the real world SNS about Shasha and ymenehcra (archenemy in reverse), who wrote things like "the crown demands sacrifices" and "the white carpet need to become red, to be perfect", and lured Shasha to a trap. Shasha finds Evil Dreamcatcher and in the end they wear the Cursed Crown on her and she collapses. There was also a pic of a murder scene on ymenhcra's account. Poor Shasha.

Welcome back to our honorary president of Insomnias. Hope you are doing well. Been listening to your own songs and they are fantastic. You've left out Fairytale and Damien vids. Those 2 are brilliant with Damien's choreography by Boss Queen Bora. OOTD has a lot fans debating but if you watch the video carefully you can see they are giving harsh comments about the music industry and social media in general. One example is look at Handong's part, she's picture perfect from the top but she's shown to have bruises on her legs. OOTD live version is way better than the studio version. Dreamcatcher is the DREAM. That's what I love about them, they're unconventional and unpredictable.🤘🥰🤘

Btw if you’re interested in OOTD analysis, it is a satire and a little bit mocking the industry. Women can only be strong when they fit this narcissistic, girl power concept. Girl groups are appreciated with flashy visuals but not when women are truly strong as personalities. They also always make women fight each other on camera even though they get along well in real life. It is a very good and strong concept this time!

thank you for making the time to watch the new and the old dreamcatcher content, I just want you to know that you should never feel pressured to do anything or like make your videos in a certain way. I'm just happy that there is some connection between my favorite artists, as a child-teen i grew up following nine muses and now following dreamcatcher there are many things that i feel following up with both groups and you being the person where the two worlds meet is very meaningful, but i also want you to always take care of yourself and always do the things you enjoy, i love you sera thank you for your support and for your love to the dreamcatcher girls i'm sure they appreciate it alot.

When groups become popular they have a tendency to forget their grassroots support. After Sera discovered Dreamcatcher herself, she introduced them to her subscribers, and heavily promoted them, when they only had a small dedicated fanbase. While it is sad, I think at some stage, the Dreamcatcher company or members have become too successful or busy with schedules to have time to associate with Sera. Just my opinion and I still believe she is the Insomnia President.
Sera's channel is only channel where I watch reaction videos. Thank you once again for great video. Btw. you look good and relaxed :)
It made me really happy that you loved Vision. At the time Vision was released Somnia were hopeful that we could win again but it was impossible. Too many comebacks of very popular artists(e.g. Mamamoo, Stray Kids, Seulgi, Kwon Eunbi, etc) in the same timeframe pulled votes too thinly. So I think some Somnia saw that as failing Dreamcatcher and they had a hard time supporting it.
It's okay to step away from artists you enjoy for a while or even forever. Taking care of yourself is most important! You released a lot of music this year and that's more of an accomplishment than watching others do the same. Thank you for being a kind and supportive senior to Dreamcatcher. I know it's insane to think about but next year JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Yoohyeon, and Dami will celebrate 10 years as idols and Handong & Gahyeon will celebrate 7 years. Dreamcatcher are seniors to almost every artist they promote alongside and I think that your friendship as an unnie is really important because they don't have seniors at their company. Sera, I'm an internet stranger but I want you to know that you have a lot of value not just to your industry but also as just a human being. No one talks about it but real love and friendship is more important than weak links made at the height of popularity.

Vision was my fav of their previous trilogy. I actually liked OOTD more than Bon Voyage. Despite OOTD still having the rock sound it is so different from anything they've ever done so I'm not surprised many are torn about the song.
It was nice to watch DC come together in this video. Have to wait to see where they land?

듴 초창기 비코즈 전 까진 메탈 락 정통쪽에 가까웠다면 비코즈 이후는
EDM 팝 이모코어 모던락 장르까지 섞어서 대중성도 잡고 있더라구요
물론 수록곡에도 정통 메탈 하드락이 있지만 결론은!!! 드림캐쳐는 지루하지 않다!!!!! 이번 OOTD는 댄스쪽에 가까운듯 하지만 또 들어보면 드림캐쳐만의 락적인 요소가 강하드라구요
마치 린킨파크가 대중성이 강한 곡들을 내었을때 메탈 락 매니아들에게 질타를 받았지만 대중성에 입각 세계적인 밴드가 된것처럼. .
