The guitarist, Brian May, wrote Fat bottomed girls. "Get on your bikes and ride" references another song called "Bicycle Race" which is great. In that song they have a lyric witch references this song. It's hyperlinked.

In 1978 Queen sponsored a nude all-female bicycle race. There was a poster from it featured in their album" Jazz" that this song and "Bicycle Race" were on. Both songs were inspired by the race and were often-times played back-to-back on the radio.

almost 50 yrs later and it still has to be one of the greatest rock n roll songs by one of the greatest rock n roll bands ever. You can't listen to this song without having your spirits lifted with laughter, fun, dancing, bobbing, weaving, and just letting the lyrics pass you by as you enjoy the overall character of it. Whether you're the one getting on a bike, or being a bike, or just enjoying a good ride...it is all positive, and with this beat, so much more fun.

Oh yes. Post 90s children are completely different than those of the 80s and 70s and 60s. Too bad really, it was not an improvement. Too much safety, too much helicopter parenting, too much "self-esteem," too many one child families, too few fathers, too much anti-sex feminism, too much fear all the time. I thank god I didn't have to grow up like that, and remain in the relatively normal human category. I'm hopeful it is correcting as we speak.

This is going to sound weird for young people, but these days we live in very prudish times. Back in the 60s and 70s people had way less hang ups and weren't nearly as obsessed with criminality, rules following and propriety. It's interesting to me how we've gone back to a time almost as up tight and square as the 50s. I'm not talking about you per se. You live in Romania and as such might not be as affected by American culture. But I have seen other reactions, and the concerns are similar from the reactors. Hi Bisscute. Queen was being extremely naughty and the song Fat Bottomed girls is about a rock band' lifestyle of wildness. . Freddie Mercury was of a certain choice of lifestyle; but most of the other band member were regular guys that partied with the ladies, so one of them wrote this tune. Oh, and it a treat to see you blush and that is normal as you are of Romanian ethnicity where you were raised to be a good girl, so it is good to hear you laugh at the Bad Boys antics. Great reaction Bisscute as I always enjoy your reactions.

I remember the time in the 2000's. They played that song on the radio and added cow sounds on it in the beginning and I lost it. They did it the same way with the ending as well.

Thoroughly enjoyed your reaction to this delightfully naughty song by Queen. "Fat-Bottomed Girls" is definitely a lyric that has stood the test of time.

If you think they're suggestive lyrics, try "Relax" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood. And as for the video. This is tame in comparison!

This was a double A side single with "Bicycle Race" off of their album "Jazz". The video of Bicycle Race is a risqué one with dozens of young ladies riding bikes in nothing more than sneakers and bike helmets. In fact, the album came with a two foot by one foot poster of the ladies in the sleeve.
By the way, this is great live, saw it done in '80 & '82.

The "Jazz" album came with a poster of the women in France's Nude Bicycle Race and this song was a companion to the song "Bicycle Race." The official video is called "Queen - Bicycle Race (Official Lyric Video)" if you wish to do a reaction.

I saw them perform this live in West Berlin back in -79 during the "Jazz tour".
Me and three friends went by car (an old rickety sixties Dodge Dart), ferry and car again from Karlshamn in south-eastern Sweden via Lübeck and Hamburg to Berlin.
At the time, (West) Berlin was an enclave in the middle of what was then communist East Germany and only had contact with West Germany via a narrow rail and road corridor.
Those were the days the rockin’ world went ’round 🤪🎸

I don't think there is a more pure rock song ever created. Pure doesn't mean nice or clean, just pure to what it means and says and rocks the shit out of it.

How come Freddy Mercury can say this with women dancing and cheering, but I just get slapped? Great classic Queen tune! We should create a genre of songs about women's behinds, include Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back".

Pretty sure you get slapped when it’s an inappropriate situation. Too bad women won’t tell you verbally, instead you get the slap.

This was a double A Side wit Bicycle Races, much like We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions, and those two songs are usually played back to back. The album , Jazz, came with a poster of many naked women with fat bottoms riding bicycles.

I recommend she does _ALL_ the songs off their first 7 albums. Not a dud in the whole bunch. I like your choices though.I prefer their harder rocking songs too, so I'd add "Modern Times Rock & Roll", "Dead on Time" and "Great King Rat" to your suggestions.🤘
