I have a great idea for your videos. When you’re mentioning a place, have a map of Florida in the corner with a star in the place your talking about so we can visualize where it is.
You guys should show each town on the map of florida before going into it.... the back and forth between you and the broad was pretty annoying too. Otherwise interesting video.
Def agree with you! You do not want to move to Arcadia! Just visit. You def only live here if you have roots/family. Also, unfortunately our Opera house has been DESTROYED by Hurricane Ian. They are trying to rebuild.
So glad you put my winter home, Fernandina Beach in your choice. The people here are really laid back and polite, and smart. Hey, the oldest bar in Florida is located there. And best of all, its not that expensive.
'You don't really qualify as Florida if you in the Panhandle' :Everyone in Destin/ Okaloosa Island/ Seaside crossing their fingers that no one else discovers them:
A few to consider are SEASIDE....really great place to visit in the Panhandle and DUNEDIN which has a nice walkable downtown with some really great restaurants.
Thanks for the shout out ! I own a business in MICANOPY and I (we) do appreciate the recognition. B.T.W., MICANOPY also was featured as one of the top 10 charming towns in the entire U.S.A. by the HUFFINGTON POST ! Not bad for a town of about 650 people. Come visit again, I'm at the opposite end from where you filmed - lots more to see ! Good Job Guys !
I love micanopy! I will be living there within 2 yrs.can't wait! If you're looking for peace and quiet, small, friendly town, micanopy is the place to be.great shops too.btw..McIntosh is great too. I think that's where the fountain of youth is.lol the residents live to be over 100
wow long story. we moved to Alabama, and than after a nightmare of a year there, back to Fort Myers. Now we been in Sarasota Area for a year and the wife just became a realtor.
I lived in Fernandina and graduated high school from there. It's a neat town, not so little anymore. It does have some nice beaches and houses, but there's not a lot of good restaurants in the area. You do have T-Rays on 8th Street. And Sliders Seaside Grill on South Fletcher (A1A). If you're over 21, you got The Palace Saloon and the Green Turtle. There have been some bars that have come and gone but those two have stuck around. The first weekend of May Fernandina has its Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival. A lot of different arts and crafts vendors come from all over the state to it. And it has a lot of food. Micanopy also has Pearls BBQ. It literally is a hole in the wall at the Exxon gas station on 441. Best brisket that I have ever had in my life.
Dude. It is funny that your wife is from ICHIGAN. My wife is a yankee from OH IO. More humor, My dad is from the U.P. (if you don't know what that is, ask your wife) and my mom is from Cleveland, but I was born in Homestead. Hahaha so extreme differences there. I actually lived in Ohio from April of 1990 (I turned 12 in August) until October of 2019 (at 41) . We are living in Bradenton now. And yankee isn't contagious, I have always been a Floridan.
Oh I know what a yupper is! My neighbors who snowbird across the street are yuppers! man you cant beat a Michigan girl. Whats the best place to eat in homestead? I like the rural parts the city is scary at times. When my wife gets ANGRY I do the O H I O CHANT.. usually between the I and the O.. I get struck! 💥 LOL
I always wondered all these years where Doc Hollywood was filmed. I fell in love with that town while watching the movie. Now I know. This NY Yankee thanks you.
HEY!!! There is a Yankee that owns an antique store in MICANOPY! So you will be fine! You can tell by the Victorian homes that there's some northerners in Micanopy. My wife is form Michigan. You could not bealive how many people from NY in FLORIDA!!!! I jsut hope yall learn some southern hospitality when you move here! we want friendly people not rude city snobs! DOC HOLLYWOOD amazing Movie!!! Cross creek is another you must watch! THANKS! I do talk lots of smack about yall but you KNOW these videos are for you! to help you! LOL I've crazy!
I'm from upstate NY where we have a lot of hospitality. I lived in Clearwater, Florida for 2 years so I know I'll be ok. I hope to be moving back within the next year.
I moved to Titusville in june 2020 and i love it 💙 i moved here from vegas and i love all the green trees and the daily rain and all the tiny lizards 😂
The male announcer needs to learn how to pronounce charming( it is not sharming ) as he says on all words beginning with ch... he says sh!!!!!! Get it right!!!!
I've put in the miles on the charm hunt in Florida, like you guys, only way longer, and I gotta say: YOU NAILED IT 👍. I also like the even balance between coastal and interior. People forget that Florida has a beautiful interior of ranches, lakes, rivers and awesome springs, and some unique non-beachy coastline where fishing outweighs laying in the sand.
YankeeTown was where the Elvis Presley movie "Follow that Dream" back in 1961 including nearby Inverness where the Courthouse scene was there's a window poster of Elvis at the old courthouse where the scene was at.
The presentation of the movie showed them driving across the Courtney Campbel causeway in Tampa Bay,Elvis and his movie staff stayed at a motor inn at Crystal River Florida between Yankeetown and Inverness..There's also a UA-cam video called Footprints in Florida,Follow that Dream.
I would except i have no idea what id be saying cuz i just dont know the area that well. See my recent uploads were in the panhandle now. I like dunnellon
Micanopy! I'll check it out some day. Thought I've seen it all. St. Geroge is cool... didn't see it on here. Get some cooked oysters. Cassadaga has a really interesting history.
Anyone have a suggestion I want to relocate to the South West Gulf Coast of Florida anywhere from the area of St Petersburg to Cape Coral and I know I can't afford to live near the beach but what towns or cities are safe and are more inland but are still close enough that I can drive to the beach with in 25 to 35 minutes?
watch more of my videos i've done several drive around videos of arcadia. sadly they appear to have a gang problem. drug use is rampant. it's a nice charming town but gangs and drugs. I dont think they bother you too much but you see it.
It’s the oldest continually running city in the America’s it’s my adopted hometown and please don’t talk down my Spanish people I know they’re yours too but it’s still not appropriate we have a proud heritage and we should not be shamed by the ridiculous pc culture

@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS Thank you for the song-tip. Listened to it. Thought I did hear Sanford a couple times, but then looked up the lyrics and did not see the word Sanford once. They did mention Seminole [County] though. Nice to see Orange and Seminole County represented though, thank you again. BTW, if ever you were to visit Sanford, hit me up, I will help tour guide you.
IF you want to take it as an insult thats on you. I dont want to offend anyone i take it we are ALL floridians and friends and can take a joke without being butthurt.
Mary Richard, why criticize ? Did your ancestors speak English when they came to America? unless they came from England.... they too, had to learn to speak english, and also must have spoken with an accent!!!

So pleased to see Yankeetown and Cedar Key on the list, two towns I love dearly. And my grandmother was born in St. Augustine, as well (1902).
You nailed it with Tarpon Springs. The Greek McDonald's the food is fantastic. A movie was made there in the 50s about the sponge divers
So glad you put my winter home, Fernandina Beach in your choice. The people here are really laid back and polite, and smart. Hey, the oldest bar in Florida is located there. And best of all, its not that expensive.
Can you do a show on best wheelchair accessible towns to retire in. Curb cuts. Para transit, best towns with hospitals

the florida keys are a blast too
I was watching the video waiting for the enchanted Mount Dora !! You didn’t mention
I know!! I did do a whole video on mount dora more recently if you find that!! There is also an update to this video

Michael Picozzi 😅 I know that happens when we make content on weekdays lol

Missed a couple. Titusville and Key West.
James Hartsfield in my person opinion i would describe key west as a tourist trap

SHUT UP SHAWN AVERY
Fernandina beach is named after king Fernando? Fernando isn't a female name.
Great content, keep it up
You missed a lot of charming towns in the panhandle. Apalachicola, Port St. Joe, Carabelle, Monticello and more.
I don't like cucumbers either, and pickles even less!

David Gough they dont know, if you pay close attention we totally ignore all tourist trap type spots on our channel we go for low key chill spots.
You can cook pancakes on a griddle in a restaurant in Ocala Ntl Park. Pretty cool.
FT you can do that in DeLeon Springs too ,The towns nothing ,but the park is lovely with the springs walled into a swimming pool ,
@@sandraford4235 hmmm I got it confused. How many pancake griddles can there be! Did you enjoy it?
You have to learn how to pronounce charming bro please

Old Florida unfortunately has died. Florida had a vibe that was unusual and unique like Ybor city back in the day. The beaches and fruits.
The least charming of all videos ever
Really poor narration. It would have been much better with soft music in the background.
so..
To bad the announcer has such poor English.
You just insulted everyone in North Florida, including St Augustinians . We are north of Ocala.
IF you want to take it as an insult thats on you. I dont want to offend anyone i take it we are ALL floridians and friends and can take a joke without being butthurt.
