Was very interested to see what you thought of this. Not easy to take a humorous view of most of RENs output. Have kept my suggestions more or less in your lane so far and looking back to past glories, but if you are open to a broader canvas and some of the current internet darlings (like REN) then you might want to check out some other current artist alternatives. Female rock and Metal (Lovebites, The Warning, Bandmaid) Symphonic Metal (Epica, Nightwish), Rap/rock (Falling in Reverse) all are amazing with significant repertoires and are fairly reactor friendly and heavily reacted to. All come with huge fan followings so ready yourself for a mammoth bunch of demanding subs from all of them. The renegades will be in from tomorrow.
@@scifimonkey3 Ren is does put out a lot of pain, but if you think that's all he is, check out Love Music parts 1-4. The first three are on a ska beat. The last is rather naughty in a completely different style
😂 I’m gen X too. Became so disillusioned with music -we were so spoiled with all the greats of our day compared with mainstream today 😂 I found Ren watching Floyd reaction vids and other mostly 70s bands. That reignited me for a bit - and then Ren appeared in my life and I feel alive 😍😍😍. “Music is the best” FZ !!
Ren is the most talented artist I have come across in decades. He is brilliant. First found his work two years ago and I have not stopped listening to his large catalog of videos, live music with The Big Push, and collabs with many independent artists. This is a Live performance.
Ren is not actively psychotic anymore. He does have Lyme disease, Bartonella coinfection. MCAS, POTS, PTSD, ADHD, DISAUTONOMIA, AND chronic issues from damage due to Lyme. Plus anxiety. Self-taught on guitar, electric guitar, bass, piano, and drums. Started at 10 yrs old by slowing down Jimi Hendrix and John Fruciante. And used You Tube. He is Welsh. The community of Renegades that has risen around him are the kindest, most supportive you probably will ever meet. Subbed and loving your reaction. Hoping for more Ren. Suggest Chalk Outlines live with Chinchilla for great vocals
@MusicForTheSoulReactions Sadely it's not pass, he stile fighting. Never been able to tour a show, not even make proper show, but pull out to be no 1 album in IK in octobre 2023. This video have 40M + view and his chanel is up 1,7M sub, he acomplish most of it with an IV in his harm 5 days a week, so Ren is not only talented, he is an incredble human.
Thanks for a great reaction 👍❤ And welcome to the world of Ren. A roller coaster ride through emotions, wisdom, musical genius and genres. Ren Eryn Gill is a multi-instrumentalist and producer. He sings, raps and writes his songs, lyrics and video scripts himself. He was born in Wales in 1990. He moved to Brighton in 2013 and did a lot of busking. He studied music performance at Bath Spa University. In 2009 he became seriously ill and had difficulty attending lectures. In 2010, he was signed to Sony Records. However, as his health continued to deteriorate, he had to terminate the contract. Today he is an independent artist. In October 2023, his album "Sick Boi" was number one in the British album charts. Ren was initially misdiagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder and chronic fatigue syndrome, which led to him suffering from psychosis. It was not until seven years later end of 2015 that a doctor in Belgium finally diagnosed him with autoimmunity and Lyme disease, which led to brain, organ and joint damage as well as PTSD. After stem cell therapy in the United States, his health improved considerably. However, he continues to suffer from his illnesses. In early 2023, he went to Canada for about a year and a half for treatment. In July 2024 he came back to the UK to play hist first concert after five years (look for The Secret Garden Party). At the end of September 2024, Ren posted that the treatment for Lyme disease co-infection Bartonella had not worked. Eight months of grueling treatment with various antibiotics had not led to success. Then the symptoms of Bartonella came back and even worse, during a video shoot he got an autoimmune flare and experienced severe pain so he had to be taken to the emergency room. He lost vision in one eye for three days. He started recovering in the UK, went back to Canada for further treatment in October 2024. A few weeks later he returned to the UK. The treatments in Canada were too much for his body to cope with. He is doing a bit better and tries natural remedies including an oxygen chamber. Nonetheless he released the title track of his new album Slaughter House in November 2024. In December 2024 he posted that he is reattempting to film Vincents tale. The first time was the shoot he ended up in hospital. On his RenMakesStuff channel you can find an autobiographical reading about his story in eight chapters. From the end of his best friend Joe, over becoming ill, getting and losing the contract with Sony, via his odyssey through various diagnosis and attempts of treatments to becoming at least better after his stem cell treatment. Absolutely worth watching. You will understand his songs even better afterwards and they become even more intense. Very personal and emotional videos. His song Troubles is a kind of condensation of these readings.
I am a 61 y/o grandma in Florida and a Renegade! He is incredibly talented, intelligent, and wickedly cheeky! I would love to see you do more! Maybe some cheeky rap like “Losing It” or “What You Want”. For vocals I suggest “Back on 74/Message in a Bottle” it is a mashup of 2 covers! Happy New Year to you and yours🎉🍾🥂❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
I've seen this artist being reacted to on other channels, but I never checked him out. Thanks for doing this. I found him very interesting. It gives me hope there are young artists willing to experiment and push envelops.I won't put it on at a party, but I will check out his other videos. You opened a new door for me. Thanks, US Roadie 1 signing off...
Thank you!❤ I've been down this Rabbit hole since Feb of 2023. He is made of music, the genre is Ren. Try Back on 74/ Message in the Bottle Retake for a completely different side of Ren. Watch his 1 million subscriber Defining Success to see why we love him so much.❤🎉
Well, I’m 77 and never listened to rap. This clip was EVERYWHERE and I decided, why the hell not just listen to it. And I was gobsmacked. Became a fan of this artist. It’s just a matter of taking a chance once in a while and being open. I found I liked some rap… especially NF.
Fantastic stuff, love that...taking a chance 👌. Love me a bit of NF, again, early eminem similarities that I enjoy about his deep lyrical content. I thoroughly enjoyed this one, totally caught me by surprise!
@MusicForTheSoulReactions yeah, it’s the deep lyrical content of NF that blew me away. I always thought that rap was always about violence and misogyny. And perhaps much of it was back when it began. And perhaps allot of it still is. I wouldn’t know as I haven’t investigated widely. MacDonald is another one who has some serious things to say, although I don’t always agree with him.
@MusicForTheSoulReactionsRen was my first introduction to Rap. Fan for nearly 2 years. Teenager in the 60s. 75 now. This man will help change the world. Everything about him and his values and life are inspiring. I subbed for more Ren.
Hello and welcome to the RENiverse, MFTS. Let me introduce you to... Ren Gill, he is a 34 year old Welsh native (Wales from the United Kingdom, specifically from the Island of Anglesey off the northwestern coast of Wales) and currently resides in Brighton, England (a southern English Channel beach town with an insanely active busking [live street performing] scene). He has been performing since he was 12 years old. He is entirely self-trained. He speaks native Welsh, English, French, and I do believe a bit of Italian, IIRC? He is exceptional at the guitar, piano, and vocalisation. He is a totally independent artist who has no record label to represent him or, more importantly, control him. He is a rapper, a multi-instrumentalist, a producer, a singer-songwriter, a composer, and truly the definition of genre-less. He can do any genre, produce any sound or beat, and he can do it all for nothing. No song is like another, no beat is the same, no way to judge anything based on what each song is. Again, it must be repeated: he is SELF-trained and has never had formal training for his music or productions. Everything Ren does is intentional. Every aspect of every piece is thoroughly scrutinized, studied, considered, composed, and dismantled before anything comes out and that perfection comes through during recording or filming. He is a Master of live one takes and his team is one of the best in the world, despite how small, even tiny or non-existent, his budgets are. Almost all the money he makes either goes to his ongoing Lyme Disease treatments (of which his medications cost literally thousands of quids/dollars) or to the projects he has in mind. I will state that Ren is not religious. He is spiritually agnostic, though does come from a Catholic background. He considers religion important to at least acknowledge and utilise as part of his imagery because of its representation within humanity. At the age of 19, he contracted Lyme Disease from a tick bite he received while on a trip with his friends. He was misdiagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome, which led to severe psychosis, for several years until he was properly diagnosed by a Swiss physician. Due to not receiving the appropriate treatment for Lyme Disease within the very short time frame after contraction, the disease has ravaged his body and mind, causing permanent brain damage, severe issues with digestion, sleep, nerves, and various other health problems. It caused him horrendous, chronic, violent pain to the point of being bedridden for years. Music is the reason he has survived. He had originally signed to Sony Records prior to contracting the disease, then when his condition became severe, he lapsed in his ability to complete his contract and Sony dropped him like a ton of bricks. He has been independent ever since. I'd like to provide some cultural context for this artist from another extremely talented artist: This is what the Irish folk rock artist Sinead O’Connor posted on social media after watching Hi Ren: “Holy motherfuckin SHIT! Someone just showed me this at the weekend. This Archangel from like, twelfth heaven or somewhere, has only gone and made the entire history of songwriting and performing look like a three year old's birthday party at Burger King. Every song and or artist in history even Willie Dixon, Chuck Berry, The Beatles, NWA, Ice Cube, and even Bob Dylan, is officially relegated to class B. As are every actor in history or legend: living or dead, male or female. We all are now defunct." Posted on May 17th, 2023, 2 months before self-deletion in July 2023. I recommend watching Sick Boi, Troubles, and the 'Chapters' from his RenMakesStuff (BTS channel for Ren) for a much deeper comprehension of his journey. Hi Ren was recorded live in the basement of an apartment building in Brighton, England. It was literally a crew of five people, cost 50 quid (~$62) to make, and the audio is entirely one take. The video is spliced across four one takes. It is recorded live with a lavalier lapel microphone, a portable guitar amp and recording device, three cameras, and Ren's laptop. He rehearsed this piece literally thousands of times before he even recorded the music video to provide certainty that he would get the guitar notes perfectly and his delivery as perfect as possible. This piece is a very personal one for Ren and was the first time in his musicianship to properly acknowledge his ailment, his journey, and his issues musically. He has hinted at it in all of his previous works prior to it, but this was the first time it was out in the open, purposefully. The 'Pig' from the beginning is an essential symbol in the RENiverse and appears in many, if not most, of his other music videos and media. It represents the corrupted and abused systems of the world that take and take and take and never give back to the people they are supposed to support: medicine, music, finances, trade, commerce, government, etc… There are actually four characters in this piece: the yodeller at the beginning and end (representing a call to aspirations), self (the calm and soft one on the 'right'), doubt (the 'evil' one on the 'left'), and hope (the one in the 'centre' near the end of the piece). The written poetry at the end of the piece is a very simplified summary of his real journey and represents his most primary belief system. Hi Ren is a continuation of Sick Boi, which is recorded live (though not a one take) in the same basement a few weeks prior to Hi Ren. It was also produced for practically no money and it represents his feelings on commoditization, greed, the healthcare industry, and the music industry in a generalised yet very specific manner. Hi Ren has received multiple nominations or wins for awards, has over 40 million views, and he has several million followers worldwide. He has other videos and songs with multiple awards, especially Money Game Part 3 of the Money Game trilogy, which has won several dozen awards. There is life before Ren and then there is life after Ren. Welcome to your life after Ren. Have fun! Welcome to the RENegades and the RENiverse. Much peace and love to you. ^^
@ Thank you! I keep expanding it too as I figure out better and additional information that is relevant. As well as fellow Renegades properly correcting me if I make mistakes or forget to include certain data. I believe every reactor should get the basics down so as they journey, they can better understand how to process the experiences of Ren.
@ yes, though as I expand it, it can be a lot for mobile. I work a lot and have to often do these comments while working. I store everything I can about Ren into my OneNote and I also recently subscribed to Rencyclopedia UA-cam channel; that’ll help me a lot for stuff I may have missed that is relevant.
"Never" is a bit of an overstatement. At the very least he says he had like two guitar lessons, and he did do vocal training during lockdown after wrecking his voice for a few weeks because he wanted longevity. There are other quibbly details, but those are the big ones.
Oh boy. Here we go. I so hope you continue on this Ren journey. It’s a deep one. Back on 74/Message in a Bottle is super cool. So many styles to choose from actually. He really is impossible to label. I enjoyed your reaction. I can see you have a great eye for detail. I look forward to watching you hopefully fall down the Ren rabbit hole. There will most likely be many more of us who feel the same ❤subbed
I feel like this is the kind of rabbit hole where you are left wondering how deep it goes as it seems to expand forever! This guy has a great way with words and visuals. Thanks for joining me on my journey!
@MusicForTheSoulReactions You really can wonder how deep it goes. I'm deep down this rabbit hole for almost 2 years now and there are still things I haven't discovered yet! It's an incredible journey and the Renegades are more than happy to guide you through it! Ren - Renegades - Reactors/content creators are symbiotic, a rising tide lifts all ships! For more singing you might directly hop to Ren X Chinchilla - Chalk Outlines (live version!)
Really glad to see how many Renegades have shown up already, expect a lot more to follow as the word gets out. I commented on your Tull video prior to watching this reaction. I really liked your commentary and am looking forward to you going down this rabbit hole also. Feel better and happy New Year!
RENegade in the house. This was a wonderful reaction to a song that first introduced us to Ren. I so hope you check out more from this multi-genre, talented young man because he has literally everything within his musical arsenal. ❤
Thank you so much for your reaction and for supporting Ren,really,really appreciate it man. The section that you initially found a bit jarring,always makes me think of Rik Mayall in The Young One's,but that's just me😄 The RENegades are en route en masse with plenty of suggestions and insights for you,don't worry we're a very friendly bunch. From the sounds of your background and preferences,you seem very much like a potential RENegade in the making,hope you decide to check out more of his work. ✌
Not always friendly. On Reddit r/ren I was attacked and banned for saying Hi Ren says there is a creator. The message with my ban said I was banned for “ proselytizing”.
Right Mayall is a great comparison! 👍 I've already noticed from those of the Renegade kind enough to comment how friendly and welcoming everyone seems. I presume its because of the topics he covers will speak to many people, all seeking kindness and comfort, which makes for nice people I find. I look forward to hearing more of his work
Welcome to the wonderful world of ren, where you can always expect the unexpected 😊 for me ren is a once in a lifetime artist, and i honestly am so happy im on this earth the same time he is. Its really cool. Subbed in hopes of more ren reactions 🥹💜
@ I’m excited to hear that! I’ll be looking forward to it! At some point you should check out REN’s “1 million subscribers video”. It’ll give you a chance to get a little more about the artist and the kind of person he is. It’s definitely a good watch/react.
You would be surprised how many of us boomers have become fans of this artist. If you want to do more, a good number of us would be pleased. If you get bunk about it, ( to be polite) ignore them. 😁
Great reaction. The 'She sells sea shells on the sea shore' taunt from dark Ren that confused you was a reference to another song of his, Money Game part 2. Ren loves to connect songs together in a web. He leaves easter eggs all over the place. Thanks for muting your coughing. Yeah, I love the dissonant chords too. Apparently they are called tritones (aka the devil's chord). Ren is a prolific and diverse artist. Some great examples of his singing voice: Back on 74/Message in a bottle retake Ren x Chinchilla - Chalk Outlines live Ren x Chinchilla - How to be Me live Can't help falling in love (Elvis cover) Humble (Ft. Eden Nash) Ren & Sam Tompkins - Earned It/Man's World/Falling The Big Push - Wade in the Water/Nina Simone/Trouble so Hard The Big Push - Praise You (Fatboy Slim Cover) The Big Push - Swan Song... basically anything by the Big Push, his former band. Mike Skinner is one of the many musical influences Ren has cited. If you listen to this song again, I think you'll find a bit of humour in dark Ren's taunts. Ren definitely has a wicked sense of humour, though this is one of his many more serious songs.
Great, informative comment, thanks for sharing. I'll duly note all the recommendations too! Haha yeah didn't think you lot needed to hear me coughing and spluttering 🤣🤦♂️
When I first found Ren, it was this piece, and I was just blown away... the music and performance, but, honestly, the lyrics are insanely powerful. Just blown away.
Sinead O’Connor wrote this after hearing this song: Holy motherfuckin SHIT! Someone just showed me this at the weekend. This Archangel from like, twelfth heaven or somewhere, has only gone and made the entire history of songwriting and performing look like a three year old's birthday party at Burger King. Ren is independent, working with a small group of long term friends, so is rarely played on the radio. Also, his health problems mean he cannot tour. So thank you for your lovely reaction, helping to spread the word. Please react to more of his work (soon!)😅- he’s really special - a star! And he deserves to be heard by so many more. X
I love Ren and think he’s a genius, but I think she got a bit carried away here, as many of us do when we are first exposed to Ren. I would not say, for example, that it demotes Dylan to “B” grade.
Wow, that is one hell of an endorsement from Sinead! 🤯. I'm so happy to have stumbled across both the actor, and this Renegade community. Definitely more Ren reactions to come!
Ren to me, is a book with a blank cover. Open the book and the pages transport you to a time, place and emotion of Rens choosing. I'm just an old fart, but Ren has touched and helped me these last couple years. God bless and keep Ren among us, we need him
Oh, you poor guy! You look like you’ve been ill. I’m so sorry. You still sound a bit “stuffy” and very tired. Please try to take it easy and get lots of rest. We don’t want you to burn out on this! Yeah, kinda surprised you haven’t seen this yet. Not because it’s your style, but because it was a UA-cam and internet sensation when it was released. Even I got caught up in REN’s backstory….and came out with a bucketload of respect for this young man and his perseverance. The talent on display here is remarkable. So creative. Take care, mate! 😁👋 Vegas Roadie Helene
Thanks for your concern. I've certainly had a whooping from this bug. I could tell as I was reacting that I lacked a certain energy that I usually have. I'll hit back into the swing of it, but yeah I'll dip in and out for a while until I'm up and running. It's only a hobby after all and not worth burning out for, despite my enjoyment doing it. Yeah, I can honestly say I'd never heard of this. I primarily watch football and investment channels on yourube rather than music so will have missed the boat when this particular artist took off...but happy to be catching up now!
Ren had stress induced psychosis which isn't the same as regular psychosis. He was misdiagnosed for 10 years. He has Lyme disease and because it took too long he has permitted damage to his body. The whole thing at 9 was just a highly intelligent and highly gifted kid with ADHD. Not psychosis.
Super interesting, albeit terrible misfortune for him re: missed diagnosis and its consequences. I'm just happy he has found a way of coping through release his art which is clearly extremely talented
Welcome. More please. The Renegades will blow up your channel. Singing you say? Back on 74. Storytelling? Jenny and Screech Trilogy. Most of his stuff is LIVE and one take. Want more musical type jams? His band The Big Push does everything from Bob Marley to The Stones. Sting to Sabbath. Enjoy the ride. Just take us along with you
Renegades roll out! Lmao Welcome to the Reniverse. It is vast, a good bit of thought provoking, a touch of funny light hearted, a sprinkle of feel good head bobbing. He has covered some oldies and has wrote, produced and created his own. He can do almost anything. His fan base is very loyal and welcoming. ❤Glad you found our sick boi
Liked your reaction ❤️. Yeah, for an independent artist Ren is pretty well known. He had a #1 album on the UK charts last year, Headlined at The Secret Garden Party this summer, 2.3 million Spotify listeners, more than a million Insta followers, close to 2 million YT subs... etc. You'll hear about his undiagnosed Lyme disease that he suffered for 8 years. He's 34 yrs old now. 😊 💜
Wow, such a big artist and yet completely under my radar! Although I must admit I haven't really had much taste for newer music these days, I'm so pleased to have been led to a genuinely talented artist. Gives me hope for the future of music!
I just saw your Hi Ren reaction, and put this journal entry of Ren's as my comment to that reaction. ~~~~~~jAN 01, 202~~rEN~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Up until I was 9 years old, I would intermittently hear a voice in my head that was not my own. The voice was distinctly different to mine, and always negative. It would self criticize or urge me to do things I knew to be morally wrong. The most peculiar thing about the voice was that it took no effort on my behalf to produce. My own thoughts always felt like there was a process that required effort to bring them to the forefront of my mind, this voice appeared as though it was spoken by another. The sentences felt predetermined like they had already been constructed. I remember very vividly at 9 years old, becoming very frustrated with the voice. I stood in my back yard, internally screaming at the voice to be silent again and again, and it did. In a flash there was silence, to the point where my head felt like an empty room. I wasn't used to the quiet and that voice never returned. It almost felt lonely in my head. When I got older I had intermittent bouts with auditory hallucinations where I would hear perfect symphonies, usually at night when drifting off to sleep. They were so clear that they sounded like they were emanating from a radio in the corner of my room. I knew they weren't there, but for some reason they never came with the feeling of fear. I also recall sitting on a bus at the age of 15, and hearing the sound of a crowded room, with about 100 voices chattering away, I was the only person apart from the driver on the bus. These experiences were always very brief, and few and far between. My last hallucination was during an intense bout of psychosis in 2015, and was my first visual hallucination. I was walking down a pavement after jumping out my mums car in a crossroads in a moment of frustration and distress with my condition. I was trying to run from myself. What appeared to be a homeless man with a dark complexion approached me, and asked me what was wrong. I explained that I had been sick most my life, and I wasn't sure I had the strength to continue. He looked at me, and smiled and told me 'everything is going to be okay in the end Ren.' I had not told him my name. There was something so overpoweringly sincere about this very simple message, which brought with it an overwhelming feeling of inner peace, and in a flash, he vanished. My rational brain always linked these experiences to what the doctors have told me, that there are parts of my brain compromised by the autoimmunity in my body. That the myelin sheaths surrounding the complex electrical system that conduct my thoughts were damaged and compromised, causing these lucid experiences that I knew did not exist inside the physical world. The part of me that edges away from logical and rational thought always attributed these thoughts to some kind of otherworldly intervention, that made my thoughts the battleground of some spiritual tug of war. For a long time I never really acknowledged this part of myself, for with it brought the danger and stigma of sounding like a crazy person. I decided with my latest release, to the best of my ability, to capture and express this chess match of thought. Hi Ren comes out in just over 24 hours. I can't wait for you all to hear it.
I don't have much to contribute to the prior few comments. Welcome to the RENeverse. You have found the entrance to the rabbit hole. Enjoy the trip. Ren is the consumate artist. Whenever you think you have placed him in a box, he'll break out of it and surprise you again. And you will get much love from my fellow RENegades. We love him very much and his message against greed (the Pig)
Some more stuff by Ren: - Some rappin': The Hunger, Genesis or Seven Sins - Some singing: Back on 74 / Message In A Bottle, Fred Again Mash Up, Chalk Outlines, How to be Me (last two are collabs with Chinchilla) - Story telling: The Tale of Jenny & Screech (Official Music Video). Make sure to use the 13:30 version cos the order of the tales is relevant. - Some older deep shit: Insomnia, Depression, Dear God, Penitence Ft. Molly McKinna - Some funny stuff: 1990s (Official Lyric Video), Love Music, Uninvited - His former band The Big Push: I shot the sheriff, War Pigs, Englishman in New York That's enough for the next quarter I guess 😉
Welcome to the Ren rabit hole. He does not miss. His music is fantastic, he is a lyrical and creative genius. Subbed for more Ren reactions. He doesn't sit in any genre, he does them all.

Hey Pixie. Thank you so much for your comment and sharing your story. I'm sorry to hear you've had challenging times over the years, but definitely happy you have found an artist such as this who speaks to you in such a comforting way. I mentioned during the reaction I could imagine him offering support to many out there with all he spoke about. I can see this guy is going to be a fascinating journey to go on, and I definitely will. It felt good to be back reacting, although in still a little sluggish, good to have you back in my comments too 🙂. I'm glad I've clearly stumbled upon another great find in Ren! You take care of yourself Pixie. Sending you lots of love
Welcome to the multitalented genius Ren! ❤️ I feel pretty sure you are going to love him and become a renegade in no time. This masterpiece is just the tip of the iceberg. Ren is a relatable voice for everyone dancing in the darkness as he eloquently, with all the authenticity of someone who is painfully familiar with it, lets us know that we are not alone and inspires us to keep dancing. And in doing so, Ren has literally saved lives with his art. Other Renegades will probably recommend songs like Sick Boi and Troubles for insight into his story with illness and years of misdiagnosis. I will just add a suggestion to check out one of my personal favourites that doesn’t get nearly as much attention as it deserves: Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before Ren was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. A little help to guide you on your journey: - For the trilogy of tales, react to the 13 minute video “The Tale of Jenny and Screech”. It contains all 3 in the correct order. - Check out the following in order of release: Freckled Angels -> Suic!de -> For Joe. It makes the last performance even more special. - Watch the 35 minute video explaining why Sick Boi is down for context before checking out Kujo Beat Down. - When you get to the Money Game trilogy, watch the lyric video for part 2. Also if you want to understand the man behind the art (and why we all love him so dearly), check out his 1m subscribers video on defining success. Hope to see you deep down the Ren rabbit hole with the rest of us 🐰🕳️🖤
Older Renagade from the US here... love him! Subbed for the ride down the rabbit hole! Always interested in seeing how long it takes for you to admit to being a Renagade too!😂
Welcome to the world of Ren! New sub for more Ren reactions! He's prob the most versatile and prolific artist I've stumbled across in my entire 45 years and I've got a very eclectic taste in music myself! I've been a fan for 2 years and have heard pretty much everything from him and there isn't a bad song.... Maybe ones I don't connect with as well as others but there isn't a single bad song. 💙💙💙
Renegade reporting for duty 🫡❤ Fabulous reaction. All else has been covered beautifully by the Renegades already. Your back on 74/message in a bottle popped up on my algorithm first, watched that, loooved it, subbed, back tracked to Hi Ren, looooved it!! Here for your majestic journey ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words. Happy to have you along for my journey, I can imagine Ren is going to take me on one hell of a ride! Love your UA-cam ID by the way 👌
@ Oh that is for certain! I’ve been on this ride for over 2 years and it’s been nothing short of inspirational, mind blowing and truly life changing 🥰 Thank you for loving my YT ID, it’s 100% a true statement ☺️ Ren & his Team are one phenomenal unit and I know he, together with their unwavering support & the ever growing Renegade Community, will continue to shine both as an Artist & a stellar human. This world needs him & he needs us. Thank you for supporting him & sharing him with your channel 👏👏👏❤️
Ren is a true artist, this is a live video done in one take as are alot of his videos, Ren is my favorite artist and TOOL is my favorite band, and ur reactions to them are epic and some of my faves!
63 years old, danish granny here - and a HUGE fan since 2022 👍😊 Usualy reactors do "Sick Boi" (rap) next and then "The tales of Jenny and Screech" ( the 13 min. version - the hole trilogy in one.) THEN you will need somthing less heavy so maby "Back on 74/ Message in a bottel" (singning Ren) Subbed fore more Ren.🫶
I'm absolutely loving that this artist seems to appeal to all generations, got to love music that can do that. Will definitely take your suggestions under advisement! I'll do whatever the Renegades suggest!
If you really want music for the soul, try Ren Back on 74 / Message in a bottle retake. Super soulful. Nice to see another UK reactor. Great reaction also. Roadies? Ren does a lot of busking songs in a band he was in... The Big Push. Great band.
Happy days, will look to check those out in due course then, amongst many others! Yeah Roadies. Just the name I call my channel subs, felt right given the music I was reacting too
This one hits. My sister has had three full psychotic breaks, each one darker than the previous, because they always get darker. Always. I've watched her go from a caring capable woman to a shambling, shaking shell who takes a long time to process information because the drugs that keep the wolves at bay aren't particularly selective about what they blunt. It would be easy to make jokes, but I thank you, Steve for being respectful in your reaction to this song.
So sorry to hear that about your sister, truly terrible situation. I hope things turn around for you all soon 🤞 Such music like this is so relatable. Take care
For more of Ren's singing, Try Back on 74/Message in a Bottle Retake Fred Again Mashup or his many live busking performances with his former band The Big Push. But don't sleep on his rapping 😅
Mate u gotta dive down the Ren rabbit hole with us. I promise you will not be disappointed!!!!!!!! Ren just doesn’t miss - every song is INCREDIBLE. He’s independent. He writes /produces all his own stuff Rapping is out of this world and those one take videos blow my mind. You cannot put him in any genre because he does it all- but with his unique twist 💖 Also check out The Big Push. Ren and his mates ( All amazing btw ) busking. Their mash ups are awesome ( I shot the sherif - red suspenders 😉) There so much !! And he is addictive 😂😂😂. Welcome to the world of Ren.❤️ Renegades will assemble. Life before and life after Ren. 🐇🐇🐇 See you down the rabbit hole 😂😂
@ Rappity rap songs: The Hunger, Losing it, Animal Flow (there’s so many this is where my tired brain is right before sleep. Singing songs: Chalk Outlines, Hard (How? Drawing a blank) to be me, both feature Chinchilla who is also amazing. I Shot the Sheriff with his former band The Big push, phenomenal. Storytelling: Tales of Jenny and Screech (& Violet) official video has all 3 together. (Currently obsessed with this.), Money Games 1-3 don’t have to be together but definitely do them in order. Murderer. Suic!de. There’s so many that don’t fit these or fit them all. He is a true artist. G’night from Alabama, USA.
Ive just subscribed for more Ren. Also added Led Zeppelin's Ramble On from your video list and Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here. I cant see any more Pink Floyd, so I'll recommend Comfortably Numb from the same Pulse concert. Theres so much more Ren music, you will be guided by the Renegades where to go next. Most ask for the Tales of Jenny Screech and Violet. I'd say Sick Boi next . Im a 71 year old Renegade, love Ren for his respect of music from earlier eras and his genius Retakes. You'll find them as you go down the rabbit hole.
❤❤❤ Subbed for more Ren please! Generational, multi-genre artist. So many dozens of excellent songs to pick from and his Bardcore, storytelling series' are amazing. Others will suggest those. 😊 For some pep-you-up music, try "Losing It," or "Power" Or, with his band The Big Push "War Pigs" or "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop" * both of those with Red Suspenders in thumbnail.
I'll definitely be back checking out Ren, he's certainly caught my attention with this song! So grateful for the suggestions, so he's in a band too?! May have to venture there as well!
@MusicForTheSoulReactions he has had 2 previous bands. One in his teens called Trick the Fox & The Big Push. The Big Push is Very popular with RENegades and all members of the band are really talented. We hope for a reunion someday. They had to disband when Ren had to go to Canada for 18 months of treatments for his Bartonella co-infection from Lyme disease, and to try to correct brain damage from being misdiagnosed for so long. It is usually expected to react to them if reacting to Ren as it shows some different genres he does like Reggae, Rock, 3-part harmonies, etc.
You should check out the ballad of Jenny and screech, it’s a trilogy of songs so make sure you get the original full length video so you see them in order. Also check out money game 1, 2 & 3. If you wanna hear some beautiful harmonizing, he has two duets with a singer named Chinchilla that you must also listen to. Welcome to the Renegade. ❤
Great reaction, I enjoyed your viewpoints and honesty. Ren is not only a musician, but a great story teller, able to connect to audiences in many ways. Ren does multiple styles of music in his catalog. I'd suggest to include his works with his band @TheBigPushBand for more of his singing and performance prowess.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I'm enjoying all the Ren fans giving me some guidance as well as education on Ren and where to go next. Seems like a good group does the RENegades.
JOINED AT THE SOUL WITH A PAIR OF HEADPHONE (sorry broke the button on my laptop🥹 wait to you chinchilla) I didn't mean to yell lol❤ Had to jump over here next. Good luck trying to find a track of Ren that isn't going to make you learn feel hear something the soul needed ❤
@MusicForTheSoulReactions oh gawd yes!!! Dark lyrics, but then, it’s Ice-T. Ice-T asked Gilmour’s for permission, and Gilmour, after reading the lyrics, said he would give permission only if he could play on it!
@ definitely listen but not for the channel. You’d have allot of Floyd fans going ape-shit ( she said delicately) or do it and enjoy the dust-up. Hehehe. 😉😏
Well done Steve. If you want to experience different genres of music checkout more Ren. The Tales of Jenny and Screech (and Violet) is a good next step. Cheers.
Oh... also BTW, if you do "The Tale of Jenny and Screech" next (recommended) do yourself a big favor and do the 3 part version all together. Ren put it out that way after completing them and it is the best way to experience the trilogy

Echoing what others have already said.... Welcome! Happy to have you! SUBBED for MORE REN! Nas's Halftime Retake, What You Want, 1990's, Illest of Our Time....
Cool, always happy to explore more and put my faith in the Roadies. I've pinned your comment so I can easily find your new recommendations 👌
@@scifimonkey3 Ren is does put out a lot of pain, but if you think that's all he is, check out Love Music parts 1-4. The first three are on a ska beat. The last is rather naughty in a completely different style
I’m old as dirt myself! REN has literally changed things musically the way Bowie did in my teens.
☮️❤️😎🎼
Welp, now you've done it, summoned the Renegade.
Ren is one of the most talented artists of my Gen X life.
🤣 love it!
@MusicForTheSoulReactions
The "style"?
"BARDCORE" (Coined by Ren himself)
Sounds like a have a lot of material to get through!!! Can't wait
Great comment. What a tough time he has had. Yet such beauty often comes from the darkest of sources. Welcome to the channel
Thanks for a great reaction 👍❤
And welcome to the world of Ren.
Very thorough. 😊
@@majbrat Oh thanks. I tried to keep it detailed but brief. 😀
Brilliant, informative comment. Thank you so much for sharing 👏
ten is the GOAT!!!!
Perfect, welcome from Florida 🙂. Advice duly noted. Happy New Year to you and yours too. I hope 2025 turns out to be a good for you
I've seen this artist being reacted to on other channels, but I never checked him out.
Watch his 1 million subscriber Defining Success to see why we love him so much.❤🎉
You will not regret it i can assure you
Glad you've experienced a new artist through the channel. I too was happy to find someone 'new' who could experiment and show such creative juices!
Ren is the artist of my life. No question.
Oh hell!!! U just stepped in it now. My favorite artist on the planet
New sub from 🇺🇸 more Ren❤
73 here. Gobsmacked a good way to say. Hundreds and hundreds of times I have listened. To REN.
Amazing man
Hello and welcome to the RENiverse, MFTS.
I'd like to provide some cultural context for this artist from another extremely talented artist:
This is what the Irish folk rock artist Sinead O’Connor posted on social media after watching Hi Ren: “Holy motherfuckin SHIT!
It represents the corrupted and abused systems of the world that take and take and take and never give back to the people they are supposed to support: medicine, music, finances, trade, commerce, government, etc…
There are actually four characters in this piece: the yodeller at the beginning and end (representing a call to aspirations), self (the calm and soft one on the 'right'), doubt (the 'evil' one on the 'left'), and hope (the one in the 'centre' near the end of the piece).
What a great introduction to our Boi ❤
@ Thank you!
I keep expanding it too as I figure out better and additional information that is relevant. As well as fellow Renegades properly correcting me if I make mistakes or forget to include certain data.
I believe every reactor should get the basics down so as they journey, they can better understand how to process the experiences of Ren.
Holy crap…now THAT is a history. Hopefully, you’ve posted this on other channels before and just had to “copy and paste” here. It’s a treatise.
Welcome to the wonderful world of REN, our lyrical genius and beautiful soul. I am 61 and a full on Renegade. Great reaction and Subbed for more Ren ❤
Welcome, what a lovely community the Renegades are!
Oh boy.
Thank you for coming along with me on this journey. With this guy, it's bound to be a belter!
RENegade in the house. This was a wonderful reaction to a song that first introduced us to Ren. I so hope you check out more from this multi-genre, talented young man because he has literally everything within his musical arsenal. ❤
People like yourself are certainly selling the need for me to go check out some more of his stuff, so absolutely I will be doing!
@MusicForTheSoulReactions Nothing but love in our intentions, my friend /hug
I've already noticed from those of the Renegade kind enough to comment how friendly and welcoming everyone seems. I presume its because of the topics he covers will speak to many people, all seeking kindness and comfort, which makes for nice people I find. I look forward to hearing more of his work
Welcome to the Renegade family! Ren is one-of-a-kind, an incredible artist. I hope you'll continue to explore his music!
I certainly intend too, this song has me very intrigued!
Welcome to the wonderful world of ren, where you can always expect the unexpected 😊 for me ren is a once in a lifetime artist, and i honestly am so happy im on this earth the same time he is. Its really cool. Subbed in hopes of more ren reactions 🥹💜
There will be more Ren reactions for sure, this guy has definitely gotten my attention!
Subbed for more Ren! Always fun discovering Ren with a new reactor! I’m here for it! Lookin forward to the next one man!
Very kind. Thank you. There Will definitely be more!
Haha I always get 'bunk' no matter what artist I seem to react too, so 🤷🏻
69 year old agreeing
63 and this young man has quickly become the most important artist of my lifetime,there is life before hi ren and life afterwards 🇬🇧 new sub
@@garysherwin3316 ah..a “young” boomer. I’m at the other end, unfortunately! 🙄
Young boomer here.
Great reaction- Ren will continually surprise and inspire you- guaranteed! Looking forward to your journey!
I've easily watched well over 100 different reactions to this plus Jenny/ Screech and Chalk Outlines.
This is AMAZING!
Wow, that's a lot of reactions 🤯
RENegades assemble!!! New sub, can't wait to see you go down the rabbit hole! Ren is an incredibly talented ARTIST!
#RENegades Assemble!! Thanks for a great reaction ❤❤❤❤ we'll be here to guide you down the rabbit hole
Love it! Thank you for the guidance!
Some great examples of his singing voice:
Back on 74/Message in a bottle retake
Ren x Chinchilla - Chalk Outlines live
Ren x Chinchilla - How to be Me live
Can't help falling in love (Elvis cover)
Humble (Ft. Eden Nash)
Ren & Sam Tompkins - Earned It/Man's World/Falling
The Big Push - Wade in the Water/Nina Simone/Trouble so Hard
The Big Push - Praise You (Fatboy Slim Cover)
The Big Push - Swan Song... basically anything by the Big Push, his former band.
Mike Skinner is one of the many musical influences Ren has cited. If you listen to this song again, I think you'll find a bit of humour in dark Ren's taunts. Ren definitely has a wicked sense of humour, though this is one of his many more serious songs.
I like your list, I'd probably add Precious with The Big Push too.
@toniyoung5131 good call!
Great, informative comment, thanks for sharing. I'll duly note all the recommendations too! Haha yeah didn't think you lot needed to hear me coughing and spluttering 🤣🤦♂️
Great reaction!!! I think we have a new Renegade. Welcome to the party pal :) :) More Ren please ...
I can definitely see me being a big fan of this chap for sure! Bring on the Renegade army
Ren is all about broadening one's horizons, musically and otherwise. Glad you found him, you are guaranteed to find more that you will like. Have fun!
When I first found Ren, it was this piece, and I was just blown away... the music and performance, but, honestly, the lyrics are insanely powerful. Just blown away.
💯👌
Sinead O’Connor wrote this after hearing this song:
Holy motherfuckin SHIT! Someone just showed me this at the weekend. This Archangel from like, twelfth heaven or somewhere, has only gone and made the entire history of songwriting and performing look like a three year old's
birthday party at Burger King.
@ yeah, that Sinaid thing was a bit over the top. But we all got pretty excited when we we first discovered REN
Ren to me, is a book with a blank cover. Open the book and the pages transport you to a time, place and emotion of Rens choosing. I'm just an old fart, but Ren has touched and helped me these last couple years. God bless and keep Ren among us, we need him
Beautiful comment
Oh, you poor guy! You look like you’ve been ill. I’m so sorry. You still sound a bit “stuffy” and very tired. Please try to take it easy and get lots of rest. We don’t want you to burn out on this!
Yeah, kinda surprised you haven’t seen this yet. Not because it’s your style, but because it was a UA-cam and internet sensation when it was released. Even I got caught up in REN’s backstory….and came out with a bucketload of respect for this young man and his perseverance.
The talent on display here is remarkable. So creative.
Take care, mate! 😁👋

Oh WoW Hi **MyBeautifulLedZeppelinGuru** & **FellowRENegade**
@@CosmicVagabondPixie hi there Cosmic! 😁👋✌️
Thanks for the reaction! Hopefully RENegades will show up.
Ooo there's a name for such fans are there! Cool!
P.s. thanks for the recommendation, it was a doozy 👌
Thank **YOU** ever so!
There are over 27,000 of us Renegades in ONE fan club! Will share your reaction there if it isnt already.@MusicForTheSoulReactions
We have arrived ❤
Welcome. More please. The Renegades will blow up your channel. Singing you say? Back on 74. Storytelling? Jenny and Screech Trilogy. Most of his stuff is LIVE and one take. Want more musical type jams? His band The Big Push does everything from Bob Marley to The Stones. Sting to Sabbath. Enjoy the ride. Just take us along with you
Fantastic stuff. It seems no matter where I turn, I will be in for a cracking ride with Ren 👌. Appreciate the guidance from the Renegades
Renegades roll out! Lmao
Welcome to the Reniverse.
Sounds like an amazing artist and amazing fanbase. I've already become a Zephead, Tool army member, might as well add Renegade string to my bow!! 👌
Currently still has Lyme disease . It's now 15 years. But he was mostly bedridden for 8 years. GREAT COMMENT ❤
~~~~~~jAN 01, 202~~rEN~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Up until I was 9 years old, I would intermittently hear a voice in my head that was not my own. The voice was distinctly different to mine, and always negative. It would self criticize or urge me to do things I knew to be morally wrong. The most peculiar thing about the voice was that it took no effort on my behalf to produce. My own thoughts always felt like there was a process that required effort to bring them to the forefront of my mind, this voice appeared as though it was spoken by another. The sentences felt predetermined like they had already been constructed.
I remember very vividly at 9 years old, becoming very frustrated with the voice. I stood in my back yard, internally screaming at the voice to be silent again and again, and it did. In a flash there was silence, to the point where my head felt like an empty room. I wasn't used to the quiet and that voice never returned. It almost felt lonely in my head.
When I got older I had intermittent bouts with auditory hallucinations where I would hear perfect symphonies, usually at night when drifting off to sleep. They were so clear that they sounded like they were emanating from a radio in the corner of my room. I knew they weren't there, but for some reason they never came with the feeling of fear. I also recall sitting on a bus at the age of 15, and hearing the sound of a crowded room, with about 100 voices chattering away, I was the only person apart from the driver on the bus.
These experiences were always very brief, and few and far between.
My last hallucination was during an intense bout of psychosis in 2015, and was my first visual hallucination. I was walking down a pavement after jumping out my mums car in a crossroads in a moment of frustration and distress with my condition. I was trying to run from myself. What appeared to be a homeless man with a dark complexion approached me, and asked me what was wrong. I explained that I had been sick most my life, and I wasn't sure I had the strength to continue. He looked at me, and smiled and told me 'everything is going to be okay in the end Ren.' I had not told him my name. There was something so overpoweringly sincere about this very simple message, which brought with it an overwhelming feeling of inner peace, and in a flash, he vanished.
My rational brain always linked these experiences to what the doctors have told me, that there are parts of my brain compromised by the autoimmunity in my body. That the myelin sheaths surrounding the complex electrical system that conduct my thoughts were damaged and compromised, causing these lucid experiences that I knew did not exist inside the physical world.
The part of me that edges away from logical and rational thought always attributed these thoughts to some kind of otherworldly intervention, that made my thoughts the battleground of some spiritual tug of war.
For a long time I never really acknowledged this part of myself, for with it brought the danger and stigma of sounding like a crazy person.
I decided with my latest release, to the best of my ability, to capture and express this chess match of thought.
Hi Ren comes out in just over 24 hours.
I can't wait for you all to hear it.
Amazing comment
I don't have much to contribute to the prior few comments. Welcome to the RENeverse. You have found the entrance to the rabbit hole. Enjoy the trip. Ren is the consumate artist. Whenever you think you have placed him in a box, he'll break out of it and surprise you again. And you will get much love from my fellow RENegades. We love him very much and his message against greed (the Pig)
Some more stuff by Ren:
- Some rappin': The Hunger, Genesis or Seven Sins
- Some singing: Back on 74 / Message In A Bottle, Fred Again Mash Up, Chalk Outlines, How to be Me (last two are collabs with Chinchilla)
- Story telling: The Tale of Jenny & Screech (Official Music Video). Make sure to use the 13:30 version cos the order of the tales is relevant.
- Some older deep shit: Insomnia, Depression, Dear God, Penitence Ft. Molly McKinna
- Some funny stuff: 1990s (Official Lyric Video), Love Music, Uninvited
- His former band The Big Push: I shot the sheriff, War Pigs, Englishman in New York
That's enough for the next quarter I guess 😉
Good recommendations!❤
@@francesdoll4039 Ohh, thanks 😊
Perfect. Thanks for sharing
Welcome to the Ren rabit hole. He does not miss. His music is fantastic, he is a lyrical and creative genius. Subbed for more Ren reactions. He doesn't sit in any genre, he does them all.
He sounds amazing! Will definitely take a leap of faith into this rabbit hole!
The other huge breakout hit by Ren was the story of Jenny and Screech. Hits hard. Ren is a modern-day bard…a storyteller.
Seems a popular choice, will have to check it out!
Hey Pixie. Thank you so much for your comment and sharing your story. I'm sorry to hear you've had challenging times over the years, but definitely happy you have found an artist such as this who speaks to you in such a comforting way. I mentioned during the reaction I could imagine him offering support to many out there with all he spoke about. I can see this guy is going to be a fascinating journey to go on, and I definitely will. It felt good to be back reacting, although in still a little sluggish, good to have you back in my comments too 🙂. I'm glad I've clearly stumbled upon another great find in Ren! You take care of yourself Pixie. Sending you lots of love
Lmao, there’s nothing “amateur” about Ren. Just different creative choices ❤
For him singing, you’ll want to check out his old band The Big Push
Welcome to the multitalented genius Ren! ❤️ I feel pretty sure you are going to love him and become a renegade in no time. This masterpiece is just the tip of the iceberg. Ren is a relatable voice for everyone dancing in the darkness as he eloquently, with all the authenticity of someone who is painfully familiar with it, lets us know that we are not alone and inspires us to keep dancing. And in doing so, Ren has literally saved lives with his art.
Other Renegades will probably recommend songs like Sick Boi and Troubles for insight into his story with illness and years of misdiagnosis. I will just add a suggestion to check out one of my personal favourites that doesn’t get nearly as much attention as it deserves: Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before Ren was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital.
A little help to guide you on your journey:
- For the trilogy of tales, react to the 13 minute video “The Tale of Jenny and Screech”. It contains all 3 in the correct order.
- Check out the following in order of release: Freckled Angels -> Suic!de -> For Joe. It makes the last performance even more special.
- Watch the 35 minute video explaining why Sick Boi is down for context before checking out Kujo Beat Down.
- When you get to the Money Game trilogy, watch the lyric video for part 2.
Also if you want to understand the man behind the art (and why we all love him so dearly), check out his 1m subscribers video on defining success.
Hope to see you deep down the Ren rabbit hole with the rest of us 🐰🕳️🖤
Great and informative comment which I will absolutely take under advisement, so thank for that. I can imagine I'll be a Renegade in no time!!
Welcome to the world of Ren! I feel like you need to play the Money Game, but first, if you want humor, hit Losing It on your way through
I would challenge anyone to offer a more diverse and compelling artist than Ren
Older Renagade from the US here... love him! Subbed for the ride down the rabbit hole! Always interested in seeing how long it takes for you to admit to being a Renagade too!😂
Haha if this song is anything to go by, it won't take me long at all 🤣
Welcome to the world of Ren! New sub for more Ren reactions! He's prob the most versatile and prolific artist I've stumbled across in my entire 45 years and I've got a very eclectic taste in music myself! I've been a fan for 2 years and have heard pretty much everything from him and there isn't a bad song.... Maybe ones I don't connect with as well as others but there isn't a single bad song. 💙💙💙
That's promising news! I love that no matter where I turn with him, I will find a hidden gem
Renegade reporting for duty 🫡❤ Fabulous reaction. All else has been covered beautifully by the Renegades already. Your back on 74/message in a bottle popped up on my algorithm first, watched that, loooved it, subbed, back tracked to Hi Ren, looooved it!! Here for your majestic journey ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words. Happy to have you along for my journey, I can imagine Ren is going to take me on one hell of a ride! Love your UA-cam ID by the way 👌
@ Oh that is for certain! I’ve been on this ride for over 2 years and it’s been nothing short of inspirational, mind blowing and truly life changing 🥰
Thank you for loving my YT ID, it’s 100% a true statement ☺️ Ren & his Team are one phenomenal unit and I know he, together with their unwavering support & the ever growing Renegade Community, will continue to shine both as an Artist & a stellar human. This world needs him & he needs us. Thank you for supporting him & sharing him with your channel 👏👏👏❤️
Ren is a true artist, this is a live video done in one take as are alot of his videos, Ren is my favorite artist and TOOL is my favorite band, and ur reactions to them are epic and some of my faves!
Both Ren and Tool are fast becoming some of my faves too! Both masters of their respective crafts. Thank you as always for watching
Subbed for the ride - this is going to be fun! You are going to love discovering the many sounds of Ren :-)
I can't wait!!!
63 years old, danish granny here - and a HUGE fan since 2022 👍😊
Usualy reactors do "Sick Boi" (rap) next and then "The tales of Jenny and Screech" ( the 13 min. version - the hole trilogy in one.)
THEN you will need somthing less heavy so maby "Back on 74/ Message in a bottel" (singning Ren)
Subbed fore more Ren.🫶
I'm absolutely loving that this artist seems to appeal to all generations, got to love music that can do that. Will definitely take your suggestions under advisement! I'll do whatever the Renegades suggest!
@MusicForTheSoulReactionsthank you 🫶
If you really want music for the soul, try Ren Back on 74 / Message in a bottle retake. Super soulful.
Nice to see another UK reactor. Great reaction also.
Roadies? Ren does a lot of busking songs in a band he was in... The Big Push. Great band.
Happy days, will look to check those out in due course then, amongst many others! Yeah Roadies. Just the name I call my channel subs, felt right given the music I was reacting too
Loveing it mate.....talent is talent and this lad has plenty...later Steve
Subbed for more Ren, love the guy. Thanks.
Can’t wait to follow your journey ❤
Glad to have you along 🙂
This one hits. My sister has had three full psychotic breaks, each one darker than the previous, because they always get darker. Always. I've watched her go from a caring capable woman to a shambling, shaking shell who takes a long time to process information because the drugs that keep the wolves at bay aren't particularly selective about what they blunt.
It would be easy to make jokes, but I thank you, Steve for being respectful in your reaction to this song.
So sorry to hear that about your sister, truly terrible situation. I hope things turn around for you all soon 🤞 Such music like this is so relatable. Take care
For more of Ren's singing, Try Back on 74/Message in a Bottle Retake Fred Again Mashup or his many live busking performances with his former band The Big Push. But don't sleep on his rapping 😅
Duly noted. Thank you
YES! Ren and Stimpy!!! A kindred soul! 😁
Such fond memories of that duo!
YAY indeed!
@@CosmicVagabondPixie hi there Cosmic! 👋
Welcome to Ren ❤❤❤
Enjoyed your reaction.
Mate u gotta dive down the Ren rabbit hole with us. I promise you will not be disappointed!!!!!!!!
Ren just doesn’t miss - every song is INCREDIBLE. He’s independent. He writes /produces all his own stuff Rapping is out of this world and those one take videos blow my mind. You cannot put him in any genre because he does it all- but with his unique twist 💖
Also check out The Big Push. Ren and his mates ( All amazing btw ) busking. Their mash ups are awesome ( I shot the sherif - red suspenders 😉) There so much !!
And he is addictive 😂😂😂.
Welcome to the world of Ren.❤️
Renegades will assemble.
Life before and life after Ren. 🐇🐇🐇
See you down the rabbit hole 😂😂
Brilliant comment, enjoyed reading it. I'll certainly be covering more Ren. I'm super intrigued after checking out that song!!!
Welcome to Ren ! I enjoyed your reaction. There are light hearted ones , try Love music 3 and Losing it .
Ren is amazing at everything for rap check the hunger for singing big push I shot the sheriff for story telling tale of jenny and screech
If you like his singing voice, then you'll like Big Push. It's Ren's band that has some busking videos on YT.
It's a seriously hard rollercoaster, but The Tales of Jenny and Screech (and Violet) is a masterpiece.
Ren is so many genres all mixed into one. Hope you will check him out further. Hi Ren!!!❤
Certainly will be doing, this song has me wanting more!
❤ Thank you ❤ I can't wait for more ❤Much love ❤
Appreciate the comment. Sending love back to you too ❤
Love your shirt!!
Love brother Love!
Ren is a gem and while I’m new to the rabbit hole but he’s fascinating. No 2 songs the same.
Suggestions:
Chalk Outlines
The hunger
Perfect, I really appreciate the extra suggestions, seems like quite the rabbit hole this one!
@
Rappity rap songs: The Hunger, Losing it, Animal Flow (there’s so many this is where my tired brain is right before sleep.
Singing songs: Chalk Outlines, Hard (How? Drawing a blank) to be me, both feature Chinchilla who is also amazing. I Shot the Sheriff with his former band The Big push, phenomenal.
Storytelling: Tales of Jenny and Screech (& Violet) official video has all 3 together. (Currently obsessed with this.), Money Games 1-3 don’t have to be together but definitely do them in order. Murderer. Suic!de.
There’s so many that don’t fit these or fit them all. He is a true artist. G’night from Alabama, USA.
Ive just subscribed for more Ren. Also added Led Zeppelin's Ramble On from your video list and Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here. I cant see any more Pink Floyd, so I'll recommend Comfortably Numb from the same Pulse concert. Theres so much more Ren music, you will be guided by the Renegades where to go next. Most ask for the Tales of Jenny Screech and Violet. I'd say Sick Boi next .
Im a 71 year old Renegade, love Ren for his respect of music from earlier eras and his genius Retakes. You'll find them as you go down the rabbit hole.
Appreciate the sub, welcome. There's plenty if pink Floyd in my pink Floyd playlist on my channel somewhere if you fancy it. Lots of Zeppelin too!
🔥🔥🔥 Reaction My G 😎❤️💛💚🖤✊🏿🇯🇲🏴
Appreciate that
Great reaction. Subbed
Back on 74 😎 Try it !
Hello! And welcome to the Ren train!
Thank you and welcome to the channel
He has a great deep voice, too!
❤❤❤
Subbed for more Ren please!
Generational, multi-genre artist.
So many dozens of excellent songs to pick from and his Bardcore, storytelling series' are amazing. Others will suggest those. 😊
For some pep-you-up music, try "Losing It," or "Power"
Or, with his band The Big Push "War Pigs" or "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop" * both of those with Red Suspenders in thumbnail.
I'll definitely be back checking out Ren, he's certainly caught my attention with this song! So grateful for the suggestions, so he's in a band too?! May have to venture there as well!
@MusicForTheSoulReactions he has had 2 previous bands. One in his teens called Trick the Fox & The Big Push.
The Big Push is Very popular with RENegades and all members of the band are really talented. We hope for a reunion someday.
They had to disband when Ren had to go to Canada for 18 months of treatments for his Bartonella co-infection from Lyme disease, and to try to correct brain damage from being misdiagnosed for so long.
It is usually expected to react to them if reacting to Ren as it shows some different genres he does like Reggae, Rock, 3-part harmonies, etc.
You should check out the ballad of Jenny and screech, it’s a trilogy of songs so make sure you get the original full length video so you see them in order. Also check out money game 1, 2 & 3. If you wanna hear some beautiful harmonizing, he has two duets with a singer named Chinchilla that you must also listen to. Welcome to the Renegade. ❤
Perfect, appreciate the suggestions, I'll endeavour to give them a go! Loving the RENegade input
Great reaction, I enjoyed your viewpoints and honesty. Ren is not only a musician, but a great story teller, able to connect to audiences in many ways. Ren does multiple styles of music in his catalog. I'd suggest to include his works with his band @TheBigPushBand for more of his singing and performance prowess.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I'm enjoying all the Ren fans giving me some guidance as well as education on Ren and where to go next. Seems like a good group does the RENegades.
Very different but enjoyable Steve
Completely agree!
@ looking forward to what you have in store for 2025 !!
Oh boy are you in for a ride!
It would certainly seem so based off this song! 🤯
You must check out-
Back on 74/Message in a Bottle
Chalk Outlines
And his band The Big Push. They are incredible!!
☮️❤️🎼😎
Already done message in a bottle and absolutely loved it. Big push has to be soon I agree
Want some rapping? "Animal Flow"... Singing? "Humble" ft. Eden Nash... Story telling? "Tale of Jenny and Screech"
Seems like, you name it, this guy does it!
@MusicForTheSoulReactions that he does
give "Back on '74" a go. I am leaving the Ren Reaction cannon here, but I think you would enjoy the vocals and difference between the two songs.
Cool, always appreciate the guidance
#renegadesassemble 🎉
JOINED AT THE SOUL WITH A PAIR OF HEADPHONE (sorry broke the button on my laptop🥹 wait to you chinchilla) I didn't mean to yell lol❤ Had to jump over here next. Good luck trying to find a track of Ren that isn't going to make you learn feel hear something the soul needed ❤
Hahaha love this comment
Oh jeez; have you heard the collaboration between Ice-T and David Gilmour of Comfortably Numb? You would LOVE IT. Rap with Gilmour’s guitar!
No I haven't!!!!! That's the strangest collab I've ever heard! Worth a listen then?
@MusicForTheSoulReactions oh gawd yes!!! Dark lyrics, but then, it’s Ice-T.
Ice-T asked Gilmour’s for permission, and Gilmour, after reading the lyrics, said he would give permission only if he could play on it!
@ definitely listen but not for the channel. You’d have allot of Floyd fans going ape-shit ( she said delicately) or do it and enjoy the dust-up. Hehehe. 😉😏
Renegade here. New sub in hopes of more Ren❤
Will definitely check out more of this guy, has a lot of qualities that intrigue me musically
Well done Steve. If you want to experience different genres of music checkout more Ren.
The Tales of Jenny and Screech (and Violet) is a good next step. Cheers.
Cool, definitely will be doing
Renegades:
Whose hand?
The lyrics say we are made by His hand.
Who is the “His” of “His hand”?
No Jimi Hendrix.
No. But you haven't heard him shredding electric on a Brighton street yet...
Indeed I haven't. Sounds like I'll enjoy it though!
@MusicForTheSoulReactions you will!
Ren is the GOAT!!!!!
Looking for light and music from Ren, try Back on 74.
Subscribed for more Ren and one of the bands he was in called the big push please ❤❤❤ check out the big push - war pigs black Sabbath cover please ❤
Wow, what a combo, Ren and Black Sabbath! 🤯
I love you love the dude
El Duderino! Absolutely 🥃
21:23 funny you mentioned The Streets.... One of Ren's influences....
Oh really! Could totally see it!
I would love seeing you react to Money Game Part 1, 2 and 3. 😊
I'll see what I can do 🙂
Oh... also BTW, if you do "The Tale of Jenny and Screech" next (recommended) do yourself a big favor and do the 3 part version all together. Ren put it out that way after completing them and it is the best way to experience the trilogy
It's great having so many recommendations for this artist for me to choose from. That's the sign of a good one!!
