Great Video Dave! You have given folks a lot to think about when they are thinking of moving to the Charlotte area. Could not agree more with the top 5. It still has the southern charm with the metropolitan feel that people are looking for and love.
Really impressive video David! Traffic had to be #1 on the list, But the light rail, we use often when in uptown going to games and events. A life saver!
Thanks. I wanted to highlight the things that the bigger pool of of people identify as needing improvement. I've been to several places with much worse traffic and much more robust public transportation.... I happen to love the Lynx.
Nice video. Any city nowadays that’s worth living in is experiencing the same problem of traffic congestion. Been moving around a bit over the past 10 years, and traffic is just a common problem someone can expect moving to any decent city
No idea how I landed on this video but yes, for any city of considerable size a vast, quality and affordable public transportation is key. For inner city dwellers bikeability is of importance.
When we moved here we found the fast food servers polite and a need for a defensive driving mindset. On that note, Charlotte is a melting pot. Seems like no one is from here, meaning they bring their driving habits with them.

Thank you, Miss Thomas. Lots of things are opinions…. But no one likes traffic, high costs and stale beer.

@@MovingtoCharlotte you’re talking to a guy from California, you don’t need to talk to me about traffic :)

100% on target. Where was the worst traffic you faced?
thanks for the warning :)
My pleasure. I’ve lived in several regions around the country and a little bit overseas. IMO - overall a great place to live. 😊

Exactly. The Lynx (light rail) is nice, just not nearly expansive enough. While I don’t see a lot of bikes uptown, those scooters are all over.
No mom and pop shops. Local businesses suffer due to high commercial rent. The city is owned by a few families
Tough to survive as a Mom & Pop in many CBDs (Uptown Charlotte). Lots of them in the nearby suburbs. Thanks for watching.
The Charlotte metro is 2.8 million now. They updated it last month.
Yeah, I know there are some info sources that have it at a few different numbers. Thanks again.
I know right 😅
The drivers are despicable! 👿

@@MovingtoCharlotte I've lived here since 1995.
@@tinaable-nx9hl I was right behind you, moving here in 2000 after living in NC twice before (Fort Bragg).
