@ I have a better chance finding a unicorn than a bottle of Rock Hill. I remember my parents came down to see me graduate from MCRD Parris Island. They were staying in Beaufort and loved it so much they stayed a whole month there!! Beautiful and historical state. My visit ehh not so pleasant.

@@HolyDiverDio928 I know PI. I was station at Ft. Stewart for a while and played rugby vs. PI. Also played for the Marine side at the National Military tourney one year. Sounds like like might have enjoyed it a little more than you.

Are you coming to visit friends, here on business or considering a move to the area?

@@MovingtoCharlotte I'll visit a friend though ideally the plan is to move one day. I often say I feel "trans" - I was born into a Scottish body but I always wanted an American one haha.

@@MovingtoCharlotte Ah. I see. As for what I like about "The Burg", I like the fact that within walking distance of the community I live in, there are farms and cows. Which gives Harrisburg a very rural feel while also being within easy access to urban amenities. Although that is changing as Harrisburg has become quite a bit more popular in the 18 years we've been here.

@@1dullgeek Well said. A town's charm cuts both ways. Locals love it and outsiders want it.... and move there. Noticed you are a pilot and produce flying experience videos. Where is your home airstrip?

@@MovingtoCharlotte Yes I am. The closest airport to Harrisburg is Concord-Padgett Regional, KJQF about 15 mins drive. But there is a long waiting list for hangars there - which I've been on for 3 years. As a consequence, my airplane is at Stanly County in Albemarle, a 50 minute drive. I'm getting closer to the front of the waiting list at Concord, so I'm hoping to move there. Maybe within the next year.

@ I’m in the south Charlotte suburbs, inside the 485 loop. Tons of growth since we moved here in 2000. Farms and vows would be a 15-20 minute drive.

There’s a private school within the community and a beautiful new high school…Palisades High School. Hope this helps!

Smaller South Carolina little town about 40 miles southwest of Charlotte, just down RT85. Is that where you live?

Both areas have a lot of positives to offer from schooling, to housing (we do have a shortage, though), to a variety of communities. Are you looking for a more walkable area/town center, access to parks, access to uptown Charlotte (for work maybe)....? Would love to go deeper into what you want or need in a home and community.

@@MovingtoCharlotte mostly for good schools and safety of the neighborhood. We are moving from PNW.

@@wen4905 I would take a look at niche.com or greatschools.org and search Fort Mill (SC) schools and Weddington (NC) schools. You can also get information on the towns and cities themselves at these sites. I have a son and daughter-in-law in the PNW, Port Orchard to be exact.

Tough to survive as a Mom & Pop in many CBDs (Uptown Charlotte). Lots of them in the nearby suburbs. Thanks for watching.

When we moved here we found the fast food servers polite and a need for a defensive driving mindset. On that note, Charlotte is a melting pot. Seems like no one is from here, meaning they bring their driving habits with them.
