I'd be lying if I said those Malstrain Genestealers aren't tempting me now that they've got a seperate release, love the cordyceps inspiration that went into them (confirmed by one of the designers in an interview over on Warhammer Community)

I think this box looks great. The genestealers look even more hideous than usual. I like that GW didn't include too much in the box so that people with existing terrain can use theirs and add to their collection with the new stuff released for this set. It really sounds like you have a cheeky smile on you face when narrating this video. Now we await the painted model video on Richards Channel.
I did! :D Yes - Richard is working on one of the Van Saar Hunters at the moment, who looks a little bit like a cross between a fella from Halo and someone in Borderlands with that cell-shaded look with the striking black lines in the armour (not sure if deliberate, but I like it...!!)
Pretty bad value really considering the amount of terrain you get in "Hive War" at the same price

@@lukeempty3386😂 completely disagree! I don't think you're seeing the full picture. You get a very minimal amount of terrain in Hive War. The Hive War paper mat is *much* smaller than this one; the Secundus mat is 2'x3'. The Hive War terrain wouldn't cover even a small portion of the 2'x3' mat in the Secundus box! To fill the Secundus mat with the number of columns and walls that are represented on the mat, you'd need more terrain sprues than we got in Dark Uprising, which would have at least doubled the price of Secundus!
As for value, Secundus has a lot more miniatures than Hive War. It has the *full* Necromunda game rules (excluding vehicles), where the Hive War rule book has an older version of the rules. Secundus has a full, extensive 2 player campaign with lots of unique mechanics, where Hive War only had a few tangentially linked scenarios.
@@rogerrange4829 The map size doesn't change the supplied terrain. There is quite a lot more terrain in Hive war and its modular + scatter. Secundus has 9 extra models, 4 of which are tiny and from my understand its not the full Necromunda rules at all but specific rules for this game. You would still need core rule book to play normal Necromunda. So personally for new players I'd recommend Hive War as you can actually pretty much just play Necromunda. The terrain in Secundus is pitiful and it doesn't allow you to play actual necromunda.

Mmm playing Stalker in Necromunda is just right up my alley. One of my few nitpics is that the good old blast templates arent a nice teal or something.
Tanks for the showing. I am contemplating buying this but I am mostly interested in the Spyre Hunters at the moment.
I mean the box is cool and all, but the price is a slap in the face, considering what we got with Underhive War and what content the Kill Team Octarius Box has.
Pity to see they continued the trend with paper maps as opposed to more durable cardboard ones included in the intial release. Even more so if you are of a vintage that remembers 1st Edition.
Also as you said, they definitely could have been a bit more generous with plastic terrain elements.
It does annoy me too how much they vary. Paper maps look tatty very fast (or at least for me, maybe I'm just a rough little gremlin!).

Tyranids are my first and still my favorite faction in Warhammer 40,000. Of course, I collect the Genestealer Cults too, but I always doubted: are Purestrain Genestealers needed in the Cult army at all, if they are already part of the Tyranid army? I don't like duplicates because...
But these new mutated Genestealers are perfect for the Genestealer Cult's of Purestrain!
Genestealers are the vanguard force to destabilize the target...
The pure strains are there as protection of the Broodlord, implanting the unwilling volunteers, and general troops...
There are always Genestealers in the shadows of the cult.

The guns could be swapped easily on the close combat weapons, the claws might be a bit more tricky!
Great video. Nice delivery. Very thorough. I will subscribe. However, I dont think this box is worth it. $10 worth of plastic. A Book. Cardboard. Paper. Small bits of terrain? I already have too many unpainted models. The price tag is way too much for a lot of people these days. And I cant even find anyone to play this game around here. Nope, cant afford the money on another GW box just to have sit in the corner of my PILE OF SHAME!!
