Lets be real here: to not have Diesel, Doink, Yokozuna, Lex Luger, Tatanka, Sgt. Slaughter and others in this game is an extreme oversight on the the developers end. Otherwise a good idea, but far from feeling like the "ultimate all star roster" that Wrestling Bios is stating it here.
Easily some of the best wrestling games ever. I played WCW and made sure to tune into WCW as a teenager. Simpler times that's for sure, but great times.

Fun fact: Marty Jannetty has never been in an official wrestling game. I know this one ain't official, but it's good seeing Marty as a playable character.
I am absolutely FLOORED with the amount of love and care the people put into this mod game. Absolute masterclass in old school wrestling games from the N64 era.

If I had grown up with this era of wrestling, I would be crying right now of how incredible this looks. It really makes me want put in the effort to learn how to install this on my PC
I would love to see more wrestlers added in the future. The Killer Bees, the Bushwhackers, Nikolai Volkoff, Snuka, Ricky Steamboat, Luna Vachon, "Cowboy" Bob Orton, LOD, Tugboat/Typhoon, Mick Foley, Terry Funk, Golddust, etc.

The excitement I had as a child back came right back once I got this game running. I'm looking forward to all future updates.
Being 14 in 1997 was so much fun and this looks like the perfect nostalgic game for those who grew up from Hogan to Attitude Era and the great N64 wrestling games. 👍

What's good about this, is it hits the nostalgia feels for golden era WWF and not just nostalgia feels for No Mercy fans. Which is good for me, seeing as I never really played No Mercy and have no emotional connection to it. I fully acknowledge its place in gaming history, I just never had a Nintendo beyond the original gameboy and never really got a chance to play it. In a way, I'll now get to do that and it'll be representing a period of wrestling that was my entry point into this crazy world.

The fans that worked hard on this game is definitely an example of what the devs from 2k and thq Nordic should've been doing with current wrestling games. I've played many modded pc games of past video games and they always have that fun nostalgic gameplay to it with new stuff added as well.

There are other games like this that mods have made from the No Mercy engine like WCW: Feel The Bang which was supposed to be a sequel to Revenge, WCW Starrcade 64, ECW: Barley Legal 64, TNA vs ROH 64, NXT 64, they also have ones with modern era rosters too and they also have something called Showdown 64: World Tour, a No Mercy sequel called WWF Invasion too.
This just makes me wish that Razor Ramon and Mr.Perfect were a team and Bobby Heenan was always a commentator with Gorilla Monsoon. Heenan and Monsoon were the most dynamic team of commentators that has and will EVER exist.

I know what I'm doing this weekend! Also, would LOVE to see WCW included. Would be so fun to get the "what if" matches that never could have been. Great video as always
DAMN...I WANT THIS GAME!! I'm a huge, huge fan of the AKI N64 wrestling games, and this one looks absolutely amazing! By the way, the SNME theme at the end of the video really, really took me back.
My guess is that HBK will be treated like a separate character who needs some new moves, textures and animations or the devs thought he’d be best saved for a later update. Since Razor is built off from WCW WT & Revenge Scott Hall as a template, he’s easy enough to make and he’s an essential character that had to be included. That and them figuring New Gen needed some form of representation.
Wow, this looks amazing! The WWE should hire these guys to make this game “official” and available on various platforms. Not sayin’ just saying! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
This is a fantastic idea. I like that the newer games have mods you can download that allow you to play this Era of WWF, but this one definitely hits different combining the nostalgia of the old No Mercy engine with the period of wrestling that just missed when video games were really starting to look good and using 3D polygons.
I can see what you mean with AEW: Fight Forever, it was underwhelming to say the least, especially when comparing it to other wresting games that are available, not just the WWE 2K series, the bones are there in Fight Forever they just need more meat on them.

Never underestimate passionate fans. Be it wrestling fans or gaming fans. Best of both worlds with this game though. I still think my favorite passion project will always be AM2R. AM2R was an AMAZING fan made Metroid 2 (before Nintendo released the "official" Metroid 2 remake) I LOVE both games. Metroid 2 and "Another Metroid 2 Remake" and I can honestly say I did like AM2R MORE then Nintendos Metroid 2. They both use the super Metroid style engine that they have been since super Metroid. But yeah I will give this game a play when I have more time. And like you said with this game, when you play AM2R you DO forget it's not a licensed title and that is why I think it's so damn epic.
Wonder why WWE doesn't pursue something like this? Just take the engine, untouched, no tweaks NOTHING and give us a new roster, arenas etc. Just then map the 64 controls to newer controllers and print money. I don't get it
This is amazing! Unbelievable amount of detail went into this game. I love what I'm seeing the only thing missing is a bigger roster there's a lot of guys still missing from this game
This is pretty awesome, Ive not been into wrestling games in about 15 years, idk why i just havent been. SVR2008 is the last one I fully played lol. But I like to every few years play the OG games, and this is just amazing! The 1 thing I wonder is if commentary can be turned on and off, that would be a huge thing for me personally. Cause after a while they can get repetitive, if that option doesnt exist that would likely make me not wanna play this more than an hour or two.
Damn that is literally my childhood right there. While I am grateful I grew up during the dawn of the Monday Night Wars and got games based on those eras, to get a quality N64 AKI wrestling game for the Golden Era would've been the diabetes inducing icing on the cake. To have that now through this rom is crazy.
Great review, I appreciated the acknowledgement of the other challenge - the trials of getting mods and emulation up and running smoothly, as this too often goes unspoken and is more likely to put off the people who were sold it as some kind of gaming wonder drug. It's always worth it in the end, but it pays to be realistic about the headaches you might have to overcome to get there, call it suffering for your art.
9:35 HA, you fool! It wasn't the 93' Royal Rumble at the Knickerbocker arena it was the 92' Royal Rumble at the knickerbocker arena. I will be taking my cookie in the mail 😂. Joking about the fool part, huge fan. Not joking about the 1992 part. 1993 was in Sacramento I think.
Would be cool for a territory take over mode. Have all the old smokey mountain and midsouth etc and take your wrestler and take over holding champions all over.
So much fun!! The original download is a little tricky but once you get it, it's pretty easy to run. Only thing I am not a huge fan of the commentary but that's just a personal preference, still really cool the guys put it in there
I saw something about this and was wondering if you would do a video on it. Thank you for the awesome work and information! This is way better than anything out there.

This looks incredible, I spent so many damn hours on No Mercy back in the day.
Looks superb! I'm also certain that musical in the background is "obsession" by animation too
Wonder why WWE doesn't pursue something like this? Just take the engine, untouched, no tweaks NOTHING and give us a new roster, arenas etc. Just then map the 64 controls to newer controllers and print money. I don't get it
Look up Ultra Pro Wrestling
Is that music at the beginning from old collisium home videos? Gave me a trip back in time! Awesome!
do you know what it's called. love that theme
@@gastonphalange unfortunately not mate. If you do find out then please let me know.
Love the coliseum home video tune
Would love to see Sid in this game. Can't wait to download
The only things missing are the Championship belts.
Would be cool for a territory take over mode. Have all the old smokey mountain and midsouth etc and take your wrestler and take over holding champions all over.
That sounds awesome.
So much fun!! The original download is a little tricky but once you get it, it's pretty easy to run. Only thing I am not a huge fan of the commentary but that's just a personal preference, still really cool the guys put it in there
Full credit to the guys who put this together. Amazing amount of dedication and effort.
I saw something about this and was wondering if you would do a video on it. Thank you for the awesome work and information! This is way better than anything out there.
0:19 - A clip of CM Punk with the commentary, "But it also felt like something was missing." LOL.
This is phenomenal. These folks def deserve all kinds of support
