I recently teamed up with Triumph of Seattle to introduce the new Shoei RF-1400. So far I think it's pretty nice and it does seem similar to the RF-1200, but I haven't ridden in it yet.

Great part 1! Really enjoyed hearing your honest perspective, as a rider with a lot of experience with previous RF models. Looking forward to hearing what you think after riding with it. Next time you're in we'll make sure to set aside more time to explain what all those new features are, how they compare to the RF-1200, and why they're awesome. Good review bro look forward to seeing the actual test ride with it. Congratulations on your partnership with Triumph dude it’s well deserved imo. I’m still using my Shoei NXR MM93 replica it’s 3 years old not but still absolutely love it will probably look to upgrade end of 2021.
That’s a dope lid too. It was between that or the pista gp r for me, and i got the gpr cheaper. I had to upsize on the nxr though which was weird. Im a small in the pista.

Love the broll! I have a rf-1200 pushing 6 years now, but I think this is my next helmet since the rf1200 is still one of the best helmets I own. Just waiting for the photochromatic shields to be available again.
Just bought mine in the Faust graphic. Have used a rf-1000, 1100 I skipped the 1200 and went for a x-14. Excited to try this out!!

You didn't mention the pin lock reposition for better peripheral vision or difference in weight and much more. Much better reviews out there for 13 minutes of time spent watching. I was hoping for more.

I’m excited to see how the center lock works. I have an HJC and it’s such a pain to put up and down. I have to basically brace the helmet on my shoulders and yank down. Or just yank up. Otherwise it gets caught and pulls my helmet.
That’s when I realized I need a better fitting helmet and ordered the shoei
What’s up man! How does it do with wind noise especially for vlogging? I use my X-14 and it sort of sucks for vlogging.
I haven’t used it yet. Revzilla says the noise is not any better than the rf 1200. I use the rf 1200 to vlog and it’s awesome!
@@adobomoto Cool! Yeah debating if I want to add it to the collection or not. May perform better wind wise on the MT-10 compared to my X-14 and Pista GP RR.
@@itsmeericb I'm gonna be testing it on my fz09, just made a video with my friend Hailey who's more knowledgable than me. she gave me some good insight.
@@adobomoto Ahh perfect! I have an FZ-10 and am curious how the wind noise is. The Pista and X-14 suck! Haha! So much more wind hitting my chest and flowing up into my helmet on a naked bike.

How old are you kid?
I do have a Shoei Ex Zero in XL but it is kinda big on my head. I used XL on my Bell Moto 3 and fits right. Should I down size at Large in a Shoei RF 1400? Thank you.
I would. But i like em tight. Do you have a measuring tape? Measure the circumference of your head!
@@adobomoto my head shape is kinda odd. Measures just 59cm. But XL fits me well. Except the Shoei Ex Zero which is kinda big.
I'm tossing up between this and the AGV K6. If you could do a comparison on those two. Weight, feel, airflow ect...
Cool man, it’s coming. Weight goes to the k6, liner goes to the k6, airflow I’m not sure because I haven’t ridden the k6 yet.
I live in AUS and for the last 3 days it's been hot 102° - 106F. Would I ride in it? Hell no, I stay inside with the A/C, but there have been days when I get home from riding and it's been above 90°, so to compare the airflow would be a benefit.
I have had 2 helmets in my life, the RF-1000 & the RF-1100. Literarily just got outta hospital last week after having spinal surgery in my neck. So I was looking for something lighter than the 1100 that would not put any extra weight on my new disc but hopefully also not cook my skull in if I got caught out on a hot day. Needless to say when you live in the most isolated city on the planet, bike shops are few and far between so video reviews are the best at getting a 2nd opinion 😂

Hi Adobo Mabuhay .. thinking of purchasing one myself but like most pinoys .. inhave a rounder head than most caucasians .. would the 1400 suit my round head shape? How os the comfort on this? My previous Bell hurt my ears pretty bad. Thanks and more power

The center locking mechanism is kinda annoying
I rode in the 1200 since 2015. It’s 1000x better than the side thing. You just gotta get used to it being in the center.
What color is this? All of the basalt greys I see are a matte but I like the gloss.
It's Basalt Grey. might just be the pictures...or they started making them matte. They gave me this early.
@@adobomoto yeah looking into it more I think they are all gloss just look matte in the pictures. On their website it labels which colors are matte and basalt is not labeled. Thanks for the reply just ordered mine with a cardo black 5 minutes ago

The locking mechanism is too ambiguous on mine. It offers no positive feedback, especially with gloves. That's my only gripe.
Yeah, with gloves on it’s a bit of a task. Even with my pista. But i like being able to flick the sucker down just like my pista!

Where did you get the 1400 in silver?
Please don't do a RF-1400 aerodynamic review with a camera mounted on the helmet, it wouldn't be a very untruthful opinion.
Good point. I thought the same. Honestly, I’ve never ridden in a light or more aerodynamic helmet than the pista gpr. That’s with a camera on the chin on an fz09. Oh, i even made a video about that lol. If you’re looking for aerodynamics, there’s no other helmet imo than the pista. I’ve tried the x-14 and it does not compare in weight and aerodynamics. The gopro had little to no affect on the aerodynamics of the pista.
