Wes Borland is such an underrated guitarist. Like that dude is so overlooked because of the hate this band gets which is so unfortunate. He’s also quite the guitar junkie 😃😃.
Yeah, they've got a lot of really cheesy and immature songs but the music itself (minus the lyrics) is really good. And when Fred decides to get serious with the lyrics, they've got some deep cuts that are really good songs and aren't cheesy and immature at all like Hold On and Re-Arranged. They are a great rhythm band with great groove which was the staple trait of nu-metal. I don't hate them, just wish they had somebody other than Fred leading the band lol.
@@MysticGuitar77 Yeah Fred gets too caught up in his persona too much. I didn’t really get into them until fairly recently because Wes Borland makes some nasty riffs. Especially with the song, Nookie, where he has a baritone 4-string tuned to Drop F# tuning. I think if the dropped the skater/punk personas, it would die down some of the hate. It's just to redundant and those times are long gone.
@@MysticGuitar77 It'll Be OK, Creamer, Don't Go Off Wandering, and Nobody Like You are good ones, too, but my all time favorite is Boiler.
He really is. He did some pretty unique stuff on guitar.

Came here from the Creed - What If cover, to see if MysticGuitar77 completed the trifecta…..was not disappointed. All three of the bands in the “cool to hate trifecta” are great instrumentally, and it’s a shame that their lyrics or vocalists overshadow that for a lot of people.

GODDAMN LB. I wish they would just ditch the freakin jokey nostalgic act and give us a record of serious songs. They could really put out a dope record. Some of the clips from the new record sound great. Wes has such a unique style/
