F# guitar tunning in 1999 mainstream!!! Even before Deftones did. Even lower than KoRn. Even Messuhgga already exists but in the underground metal movement. 4 strings because Max Cavalera?
@@trecemundos I think Wes got his 4 string out of resembling a bass since it's specifically for Nookie, and he doesn't use the top 2 strings. Slipknot also tunes that low for 'Scissors' off their debut album, but on 6 strings.
Well, he is highly recognized dude. He is the riff lord of 2018 according to Metal Hammer. Not that he wasn't a rifflord back then, but now he at least got a great title. It's amazing that he is in Limp Bizkit because otherwise he would have never been recognized so much.

Good ear my friend, production definitely played a major role in all those Nu Metal releases and there are some super talented geniuses behind all those amazing recordings... producers, engineers, mixers etc. Research "Dave Fortman", he was involved in creating much of those bands "sound". His crown jewel being the Evanescence debut album imo... absolutely brilliant under all hats and if anyone wants to record, he's still at it and has a small recording studio in Florida with his friend/bandmate from their band Ugly Kid Joe. Give him a call and book some time!
Break Stuff is something else, for a riff. It takes a lot of work to make one chord sound interesting. Between Wes Borland and John Otto to elevate that sound with the beat, what a couple of madmen. It's definitely one of the band's best songs they ever did, oddly enough. Man, that song is heavy as fuck, as a result. Lyrics are on point. Teenage me, most certainly wanted to fuck shit up, listening to that.
definitely liked it more than any of their other albums. Though The Priest is one of the most awkward songs I've ever heard. the rest of the album is awesome though
I don't know why everyone is so shocked about Limp Bizkits' sick riffs. All of You sound like You just hated LB, while actually never hearing any of their songs lok
Right dude, I'm reading like wtf. Everyone loves to hate the LB, must be an identity crisis but that's what life is. John Otto is sic drummer. Band got a bad wrap cause freddy D went Hollywood. Each member brings a different and imo original style to the group, making each musician a integral part of the band. This is why the albums without Wes were so so.
People didn’t like it cause of Fred I’m sure, his voice is annoying and sounds like whiny sometimes, it’s weird but music wise, drums, bass and guitar are sick!
they always had, and deep down we love it. but because we are a bunch of sheeps we follow the hate trend and we love saying we dispise nu metal even tought we love a bunch of bands that came from it , and how much it brought to the next metal styles.
I listen to LB since i was 12 yo. When i was 30 they finally came to my country, i was impressed they still performed really well, that was a dream come true being able to see them live!
Wes Borland deserves way more credit than he gets. Excellent evolution video. However, Wes wasn’t the guitarist for Results May Vary. Mike Smith performed most of the guitar on that album.

Limp bizkit fan since the 2011. Break stuff was the first song i've heard from them and I was instantly hooked. I've listened to 2nd and 3rd album fully and discovered many great songs, but then.. I've listened to their 1st album and it was it. No need to say that its their best album by far, imo and one of my favorite albums ever. It had such an amazing hardcore and underground feel to it. It was much darker, hevier and more serious than the next releases, except Tut, part1, but that one had pretty different sound as well. 3$bill is a perfect blend between metal and hip-hop, imo. Had a groovy and even funky parts in it. Awesome heavy riffls, thick Base lines, solid drumming work and turntables as a cherry on top and pretty good vocals with raping and screaming. Also one of the examples that Fred CAN write good lyrics, he just choose being silly in the next 2 albums and use simple chatch phrases as well the simpler, softer sound with upbeat feel to it for the mainstream sound.

I've never understood why Limp Bizkit gets so much hate. Wes Borland and John Otto are fucking amazing musicians
Same with Sam Rivers, its Durst everyone hates, including me
Bunch of girls creating “toxic masculinity” and a bunch of chumps following their lead
Two words. Fred Durst.

Wes Borland is totally underrated. He does some great guitar and vocal work with Black Light Burns, as well, especially on their first album.
