I trust that honesty and integrity, though painful at times, always work out for the best in the long run. Honesty allows for genuine connections with people, and lying always comes back to bite you in the end. Trust is a choice.

    Great video!
I have a story we all may be able to relate to in some form or fashion..
I started a business w my brother and eventually got tricked out of everything I worked for, for over a year.
He partnered up w a major company and left me completely out, refusing even to allow me a penny for all my services and hard work.
No paycheck for over 3 months and almost completely killing me, and those closest to me. As I was stupidly not ready for a complete fall.
I was the originator of the business and brought him in to assist considering some of his expertise in the field we were in. I baked the cake!
In the end this is, what I can only imagine turned into 100 percent greed on his part, considering he probably got a much better deal thru said major company.
I relied on my blood and blindly considered him my running mate only to find out he was someone I didn't know and should not have trusted w my life and lively hood.
I can relate to getting in the ring now as I may be forced to make a decision to either take the abuse or fight back!
All I know is that My new motto is tick, tick, boom!
As it stands today, I am in a enviable position, unbeknownst to them, as they are currently under lawsuit (brother and major business) by another major business for moving into sacred ground bound by non competes etc. "long story"
What they have forgotten is obviously not only myself, and others close to me, but the years worth of information i.e. Emails and Texts that could very well implicate all in the lawsuit, as they blindly sit thinking they will win the suit, enjoying life and planning fwd on all of my hard work!
The information held is worth millions upon millions of dollars and very well could be used in holding onto what is rightly mine.
I have given everyone chance after chance to do the right thing by myself and others, but in the end could be forced to uppercut when all least expect.
This is a lesson in life to get in the ring and fight!
When you are right and have done the right things you owe it to yourself and others close to you to push fwd and never stop!
People are people I guess, so just make sure you protect yourself as stated above and know your partners inside and out!
Even those you regard as very close to you!!
Updates soon and thank you for this video!

The idea of always being skeptical and on guard is another great lesson to teach. In my experience I would add one more category. The,"it's never their fault person". They are never accountable or responsible for things that go wrong and are always trying to deflect blame to other people no matter how big the lie they have to tell.

Great info. This clears up some things for me. I keep second guessing my decision about doing business with someone who doesn't have the best ethical history. My first thought was, "I know him well, so he won't catch me off guard". Then I keep wondering if I'm being a fool and should terminate the business relationship. It's good to know that I'm not being foolish, because the wisdom comes from knowing who I'm dealing with and what to expect. Just like always, the right piece of wisdom comes along at just the right time. Thank you. keep up the good work.

Hey Pat, you've explained the different kinds of liars out there but what is the best way to handle a liar.. I don't think ignoring is the best thing to do. so how should a man handle liars without offending them but at the same time do something that pricks and stings them like a bee?

    • @carloslara3346
      @carloslara3346 7 років тому +5

I'm, not pat, although I would suggest being aware of when they lie and be sure they cannot hurt you or your business with that lie. if you simply don't trust them because of a lying issue then don't do business with them! although if you want to call them out for it, do it. if you hurt their feelings, so what, you're being the honest person

Each time we prioritize emotions and leave our principles we get hit.... principles should be at the top with whoever we do business, trust should be estimated in terms of loss if it happens. One of my friends asked for a report from his finance department for each customer how much he got profits from them, he will give them maximum credit of that amount, so if he loses he loses only the profit what he got from him, so he trust them but in a specific limit.

I love how you can get to know your coworkers soo well by their actions/traits over time. Gives you an idea of potential partners pros/cons. For example, some lady I work with was corrupted by my Manager to lie against me ( tried to get me fired). Fortunately, our Supervisor saw through the crap...and that Manager is long gone.
I couldn't believe my Foeworker (if you will) was so malleable, but now I'm glad I saw her true colors, and in the future, I'd probably offer her a small position with my own company ( she's a bullshitter, but she still works good, lol)

I like the analogy you've drawn regarding being in and emerging triumphant in business akin to being involved in a boxing match and winning. It is a tough world out there where you need to be constantly wary about the difficult people you more often deal with, and it takes a measure of tact in doing so; but it's all within you to turn a losing game into a battle you win by trusting the right kind of people. Great video, Pat! You looked so animated as always. :)

Patrick, Thank you for all your great content! I've watched at least 75% of your videos and still watch every new one. You helped me a lot in understanding Entrepreneurship and wanted to become one, on every video I write the most notes down.
I hope you can maybe help me with one thing, after more than half a year of learning about Entrepreneurship, business etc at home. I decided to go to study Psychology at my university because I'm interested in it. I believe I can become businessman by learning at home and taking action. I don't even plan on finishing my university if my Entrepreneur life will skyrocket.
That aside... I try to keep the mentality you showed us in all your videos to WORK as much as possible, even when others are relaxing. The thing that I do is just studying blogs, videos, reading books etc. But I want to begin starting a company, I know that I can fail, but that doesn't matter to me. I want to fail as fast as possible 1000 times, so I can learn and grow faster to succeed faster. My problem is, I don't know what kind of company to start, I try to come with ideas, on my interests, and find problems in my interests, but most problems I find, I already find a good solution for it at another company.
I know that you don't know my interests, or how my life is. I was just wondering if you had any tips on how I can find the thing I could try next. To find a passion/purpose for a company. I would love to hear from you.
Keep up the good work! (I'm not a native speaker, maybe there are some mistakes :) )
