This is my truck, and I can 100% confirm that it's a freakin li'l rocket now! I've dealt with the guys at MPT since Ecoboosts were a thing, and they've written countless tunes for several of my trucks over the years. If you're in the Orlando area, and you have a 23, you owe it to yourself to holler at these guys. Amazing service, second-to-none tuning and products, and they're just genuinely great dudes. By the way, I don't keep the truck this dirty. I had driven straight from Knoxville, TN to Orlando in an absolute downpour to drop off the truck to have this done. That's how much confidence I have in these cats.
Thank you for that!🙌🙌 @promethusfallen
What it set you back ?
@@lizard2006 I'd refer you to @mptperformance for pricing as pricing can be volatile and varying from time to time and dealer to dealer on the PCMs.
My brother in Christ where did you get the orange outline for the tailgate f-150 stamp? Been looking everywhere for something like that because I have the same truck and think it would look nice
How’s the truck running with the new PCM?? I heard of people having issues
Can’t say enough good about Mike at MPT!
Merry Christmas MPT
Thank you!
Sweet video. Tune, cat deletes & intercooler upgrade wakes these trucks up 👍🏼 especially on e30
Don't need to delete the cats on these trucks, but E-mix and intercooler are top-notch.
I have a 2022 tremor f150 and I LOVE THAT TRUCK!
They are really nice!
Awesome job
Thanks Kyle.
That’s awesome! Big jump in power.
Agreed!
I wish i live closer to your shop i would've definitely stop by & purchase this & have you guys set it up for me
What year and engine do you have.
OMG - You're in the same area (Ovideo) where I live. I'll have to stop by to get more information.
Definitely stop by sometime.
AWesome.I'm in texas I need this. 3rd and 5th gear is clunky to me. I need you dudes to do this for me too! I have a 23 3.5 Lariat
Reach out over email to get it started - tunes@morepowertuning.com. Requires an in-person procedure to clone the 23 PCM software onto a 21-22 PCM. We can also help coordinate the PCM swap with a shop local to you, assuming they have Ford FDRS and NASTF account.
That’s funny the Tremor package is an off road package for F150s now. It’s used to be an upgraded stereo package from Ford that included a pioneer system with a pioneer sub woofer and amp. Had it in a Ford Ranger in the early 2000s
Those were the days!
I had a 2012 FX4, which was MSRP $45k. Configuring a new model to have the same features as the 2012 I’d be out over $65k. Other than inflation over time, Ford tends to repackage the features, what seems like every other year, to gain the most profit. Sometimes it’s more drastic… I also had a 2021 Expedition Max, which was MSRP $67k. Getting a new one with same features is now over $85k.
This is exactly what I've been looking for. Have a '22 Tremor with the 3.5 ecoboost and really wanting to tune it.
As the owner of this truck, can confirm.... It's bananas. 😳
@@prometheusfallen That is so great to hear, I can't wait to get it! Thanks!
Ready when you are.
Fantastic video! Look, I know its about smiles per gallon, but I use my truck for work on highway/in town driving a LOT! 20-30k miles per year. I would love to have the extra power, but would not benefit me so much if the mileage decreased significantly. The only benefit to the power, for me, would be "just because." Do you have any data as to the MPG difference? I dont mind giving up a little, but gaining would amazing. Just curious
Feedback on mileage varies with our customers. Some potential for an increase in efficiency at lower air flow rates, like when you're cruising in top gear. But of course, there's the potential for worse fuel economy if you're taking advantage of that increased potential for performance and laying stripes on the ground.
Do you have to completely pull the PCM on the 23’s to flash back to stock for warranty work as stated in the video?
You'll keep the swapped pcm with the truck forever. It's a 23 by all standards as far as warranty and Ford is concerned. To return to stock you'll simply connect the Tuner and flash the 23 stock file back on the 22 pcm.
damn im shopping gen 3s😀
They are nuts!
do you have follow on tuning support for aftermarket parts?
We sure do, check out morepowertuning.com. Reach out to us with any questions, contact info is on our site.
Do you think ford finally figured out how to stop tuning? I have a 23 and in no rush for a tune as its brand new but i will be interested in a year or so.
I don't think so entirely, since we are still able to tune them with a PCM swap.
What about the trans? Are these 10-speeds pretty durable? Ive got a '21 Tremor, and feel like it needs a transmission tune.
Update... I finished the video and you already addressed that! Lol.
@@TheAeswein no worries at all. Happy to answer all the questions!
I have a 11/22 build 23 model Raptor. Would the PCM still need to be replaced?
If you can email us a picture of the PCM label, we can check that out for you. tunes@morepowertuning.com
Switching PCM’s the dealership can’t see it was tuned I’m assuming for warranty reason?
The pcm switching is due to the 2023 hardware having something the tuning software manufacturers can't figure out. We swap to the 22 pcm and everything on the truck is the same. It's still a 23 with all Ford software, OTA updates, even the Ford dealership tools still consider it a 23. The difference is the hardware is accessible and we can tune it.
Mpt I need help tuning my 2014 mustang v6 I don’t know what I’m doing and but really confused how to get it and install it I really need help
We'd love to help you get that started. Shoot us an email sales@morepowertuning.com or give us a call, number is on our site morepowertuning.com
With forscan, can you use a vcm3 or vcmm to talk to the vehicle?
I have access to both, and really don't want to buy another dongle to talk to the vehicle if I can just use what I have.
Not sure what you're attempting. Email will be better for this in depth of a question. tunes@morepowertuning.com
@mptperformance will do. Essentially I'd like to use forscan at some point. I just dont want to use another interface to do it when I already have both modern ford interfaces. I'm Essentially trying to be cheap.
Thanks for the reply. I've seen enough people praise your videos now ill be purchasing a setup from you soon enough.
What’s the longevity of the tune, reliability wise. I want a bump in power but I don’t want to have issues later on. I have 35’s on my truck and would like to feel more powah baby
We are always happy to review a datalog of one of our tunes. Just follow the instructions included with the tune in that email, and reply to that email when you have a datalog file for us to review. If you have more than one tune, make sure to specify which tune was loaded to the vehicle when recording that data log.
MPT tunes include a 60 day window where updated tunes based on datalogs are included. That way you can be sure that you are fully dialed in and making the most of that fuel and your modifications.
When it comes to increasing performance through tuning, we take a long-form approach that works within the framework that Ford has already established and retains or expands upon the safeguards they’ve engineered. Goal is great drivability and response in normal driving conditions while unlocking its maximum potential at wide-open throttle. Not pushing any components beyond what they’re capable of, but rather unlocking what’s already there.
So if I live in California is it possible to do this on my 23 F150 FX4 on 91 octane? Also how about warranty? Will the dealer see the tune or the different PCM? Thank you
Sorry, we cannot sell to anyone in California at this time.
I think you should have done a Dino test with the 2023 ECM before replacing it
Not necessary. The pcm HW its 2022 but all maps and software on it its for 2023.
The above comment is accurate. It would have been the same outcome.
Can definitely see why that might seem like a logical test, but in this case the pcm software and everything controlling the engine is a 2023. It's a direct match to what it had before, the only difference is the hardware.
Any idea when a 2023 will be able to be tuned with no PCM swap?
No timeline on that yet. For now, this is the only way.
In the market for a truck and I found your channel while looking at performance upgrades / tuning. Can you guys tune remotely? I'm in NJ. Hoping to pick up an F150 really soon. Mine will likely be a 21 or a 22 used.
Have you tuned a Powerboost yet? I'm torn whether to get the regular 3.5 or get the hybrid. Can the transmission handle these power levels comfortably? Likely I will just tune and add an Intercooler & Intake. Any insight would be appreciated!
Typically, those numbers are to the crank, and inflated by Ford to get sales.
@@mptperformance can you tune remotely if I buy the device?
@@Michael_M991 the majority of our tuning is done remotely. Reach out via phone or email, we don't see all these comments right away. morepowertuning.com
Will the tuning for the 21 expedition work on the 22s?
They require a different aproach to tuning. We currently offer tuning for the 21 Expedition. For the 2022, go ahead and fill out the vehicle support request form, that way you will be notified when we do have something available. www.morepowertuning.com/unsupported
Looks grouse , do you have someone in Australia that you can recommend for the same thing ?
Herrod should be your contact there.
They’re working on it, will be a few more months yet.
The other option currently for us Aussie’s with our new F-toys, is Livernois (involves sending hardware back and forth to USA) and also Whipple.
So if I have a 2023 F150 and I get a 2022 PCM and get it unlocked I can do the same thing if I have somebody that can program the key and everything
You got it, assuming they have Ford FDRS and NASTF account.
Id likento know how much a whole ecu and tune for mine would cost?
Sounds good, shoot us an e-mail or give us a call. Let us know what you drive and anything you have done so far, upgrades to the powertrain and any tuning so far. sales@morepowertuning.com, 407-636-7077. Our site is morepowertuning.com
You guys do Canada 🇨🇦
We do ship to Canada.
How’d you do this? Change the injectors and fuel pump?
Injectors and E85 PRX
so its not a 93 tune@@mptperformance
@@user-zl2nb9hy3i Yes this is the MPT-93PR-X to achieve the E85 you will need the above.
Is the ECU the same for a 23 XLT 3.5? @mptperformance
Sure is
is this in Normal or sport mode? does it matter "post tune"
Post tune doesn't matter, more smiles in sport mode 😉
I have the same truck… when can I get started? I already have an SCT BDX will that work? Please contact me
Will need a different tuner, which we offer. We are able to offer this service to in-person customers. (Truck can be delivered or dropped off) We can also help coordinate the pcm swap with a shop local to you, assuming they have Ford FDRS and NASTF account. Email sales@morepowertuning.com
How did you tune the 23? I want to tune mine.
Watch the video. 😄
I just did lol sorry was laying in bed and didn't want to bother my wife.
What’s the cost and turnaround time? I’m all the way in Texas
Cost can vary depending on the source of the PCM.
Do you know the part number for the 2022 pcm?
They list in the beginning of the video what the parts numbers for the different ecus start with. You can find them doing a search. @@johanhildebrand1855
I have 2021tremor can it be tuned
Yes it can. Here is a link to the tuners. www.morepowertuning.com/21-22-35-ecoboost-f150-tuners
I'm a little confused with the stock baseline. Aren't the stock 2023 3.5L ecoboost engines 400 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque? So this would be more like an 85 hp tune increase.
Go back earlier in the video. 400/500 are the values @ the crank. It'll always be lower at the wheels. It was average ~350hp at the wheels on his base 93 octane dyno pulls.
How does it effect gas mileage
Great question. Feedback on fuel economy is kind of all over the place. Have a few folks mentioning 2-4 better, and then a lot of folks saying they didn't notice much difference. Few folks saying worse than stock fuel economy, but usually they know exactly why that is with how they're driving. It will feel a lot more fun and responsive, so you'll probably have a bit of a honeymoon period where you have a dip in fuel economy that goes along with how you're driving. Generally speaking, the potential increase in fuel economy comes from how we're advancing ignition timing, and that will be noticeable as an efficiency increase whenever you're cruising along at a steady speed. Once you get on the throttle and boost pressure goes up, there's gotta be a corresponding amount of fuel coming along for the ride to maintain a safe air fuel ratio.
Hello. This is my truck. I have to say that, from my experience, I usually tell people that fuel economy has too many variables and unknowables to be able to say for sure. In my case, I'll usually initially lose a tad from me learning the new tune and vice versa, and of course, having some fun with it, too. That said, with MPT tunes, I've found no discernable difference in the fuel economy piece; at least, not to the point where I could say it was one way or the other with any real data. In the case of this specific truck, I've found that I did lose about 1-2 mpg on the first tank or so, but after that, I'm right on where I was prior to the tune (21 mpg, mixed driving). I think I got a bit of a ringer in the fuel economy area, though. Lol. Then again, you have to consider the crappy winter blends right now, etc. So, you can see how it's really just too variable a subject to be able to say empirically either way.
@@mptperformance Oops! I just read your response. I should've just said, "What he said". 😒
