I was kind of ambivalent to the theory that Osiris was ambivalent to the theory that Osiris was corrupted in some fashion, but after the ending cutscene, I can totally see it.
I originally had my doubts thinking we were just getting a taste of Osiris’s true character due to more interaction with him. But what we’ve seen through the epilogue all but confirms something is up either corruption or impersonation, Savathun is the cause.
Right? Initially, it seemed like we were just getting a reminder: "Osiris was kinda obsessed with the Darkness, Vex and Hive alike. He was banished for a reason." But now, the longer this went on, it's like...bro you're starting to scare me. This isn't the same Osiris from Year 1. This is obviously someone different. Be it impersonation or possession, idk, but it's freakin me tf out
i wonder of osiris didn't actually lose sagira but like, savathun swooped in, took her and offered a deal with him or something (by deal i mean her going "do these things for me or little light go by bye") i refuse to believe sagira died just like that
1:45 this was the give away for me in the game. She was so alarmed by this and his voice well.. savathuns voice was shakey as if she thought ikora figured it out.
8:00 This did it for me. This is the last straw. Aside from the sinster undertones of "i wont make that mistake again" Osiris knew what we were capable of when we beat Panoptes AND rescued his bird husband. He has no reason to underestimate us. This sent chills down my spine when I first heard it. The voice acting and writing this season was so good
What always gets me the most is how truly somber he (savathun) sounds when they say "does that erase a history of violence?". Everything he says usually has this tone of morbid devilish curiosity or sinister contemplation to it but that one line sounds almost like pain and genuine sorrow. I how savathun wants to reject the worm and the sword logic but I think there's something more beneath it all.
In book of sorrow, there's a point where her and oryx are talking and she mentions her doubt that the hives complete destruction of everything is really the right thing to do, or something along that
No one talking about how the crown of sorrow turned the scorn into the flood from halo? Osiris literally describes a grave mind. Maybe that's something to keep in mind
@@nacho2920 Yeah, maybe that, but I don't know, the line felt very out of place for Osiris as a character (at least, the way I have learned to know him)

@@walshy1760 it makes LOTS of sense, the final part also coincides with what lore found in-game this and previous seasons are implying, as she wants to endlessly feed her worm in some kind of pocket dimension where time passes much faster, but, as it will never stop hungering, I do believe when she got knowledge from Nokris she is planning something along the lines of this. @@relaxedberserker4156 Osiris is still probably alive but most likely in a different way judging by what we've seen in the cut scene with savathun for season of the loss
In retrospect, Savathun knew that the Witness had eyes and ears wherever Darkness seeped, and that she only hide behind the Guardians because it figured out her betrayal and hiding the Veil.
I'm low-key hoping Savathun becomes our ally in Witch Queen. Think about it. - Actively berates other high-ranking Hive. - Is being hunted by her own kind. - Currently deals with a dilemma in which the Worm Gods are seeking to evolve the Hive to their doom, but cannot kill them or else the Hive cease to exist. - Has more extensive Hive knowledge than Eris. - Has extensive understanding of Vex infrastructure. Like, she'll need the Guardians to put an end to the Worm Gods.
That kind of makes the part where osisris asks if it's worth pursuing peace between them and humans even though they both have a past with countless deaths, but I'm with the other comments here. She could help us against the witch queen, but you shouldn't see her as an ally
So at this moment right here 1:19 as he would be speaking for the Witch Queen would this mean that Savathun and the other hive gods are afraid of Guardians posessing powers from the Darkness?
7:10 In a page of the lore book Beneath the Endless Night, Lakshmi and Hideo were talking to Arach Jalal and it’s revealed they aprroched Saladin with the proposal, but he rejected and their next option was Saint. Osiris straight up lied, they had already tried Saladin before Saint.
I’m pretty sure that Savathun has a clone of herself impersonating Osiris likely since he returned to the tower after segera was destroyed. Which in and of itself may be an illusion as well to get us to trust this version of Osiris. I’d personally put more stock into the Osiris we’ve seen since beyond light launched being an imposter rather than actually being him. I don’t think he would ever be so foolish as to fall into Savathun’s grasp and be manipulated like that. Lakshmi on the other hand… through the help of “Osiris” learned how to modify the technology the FWC used to see the future. This technology I believe was tampered with by Savathun. She interfered with it to only show Lakshmi what Savathun wanted her to see. Which would send her on the path she took. This is but a distraction. Testing us, prodding us to reveal more information. She knows that Osiris is a weak point for us. She will use that. She knows that crow is a weak point for us, she will use him. He may be strong if heart but he is knew. Not as strong in the light and can be easily corrupted, especially if she uses Osiris as a tool to do so. I can imagine that she will try and use him to attempt another assassination on Zavala. Which may or may not succeed. If it were to succeed then the vanguard would be without another leader and this time one of the most important leaders. By now I would assume that she has taken notice of us and knows that we are not swayed by her tricks, if we are allowed to continue gunning for her we will get to her and will take her down like we did her brother Oryx. So to get us out of the picture we will be sent on some wild goose chases. Potential trying to locate Osiris and Crow. Likely getting caught in a trap along the way. We then will most likely be saved by the darkness but it will be to late to save the city. Zavala, and Ikora will be gone. Either imprisoned or dead. Either way lightless and helpless and Savathun will have taken over the city. Attempting to break the traveler in order to corrupt the light it gives and use it to sever her bond with her worm. We will be the only ones that can stop her.
Sagira is definitely dead but osiris might be alive, in fact according to the wolftone draw loretab he has been conscious and aware of everything that savathun was doing while she impersonated him.
there is a line in the pressage quest that caiatl says she saw her past and osiris responds that "The ignorance of my youth... the pain of change... unproven faith wilted by logic."
2:10 If Osiris let Mithrax work on the device Lakshmi uses then she may not have misinterpreted her prophecies and opened a vex portal in Botza. I don't think this is the Osiris we know.
2:50, no one noticed that when mithrax says that he doesn't think children of the light are his enemy, then osiris asks if it erases a history of violence. Savathun's clearly talking about herself. she's about to be a "child of light" and asks if he'll forgive a history of violence
good eye at 7:06! Another one could be when "Osiris" rejects mithrax's proposal to improve "the device" because "The black armory has already provided enhancements". The black armory is gone.
